Friday Night is Event Night Galore

I’m looking for a few people who might be interested in attending one of several events tomorrow that are all happening between 5 and 8 server (starting time)

If you have the addon Elephant, can take Screenshots, have Discord, and are interested in writing a freelance article about one of the events tomorrow, message me here or Risri in game tonight.

I have 4 events all happening at 6 and a few more over the rest of the evening. I’d like to get coverage of a few of them.

OOC: Changes coming...

So by now most of you who follow me and used to follow Dunn know he’s deleted his tumblr. I’ve been weighing it in my mind since he told me what he wanted to do and gave me permission to NPC Dunn if I wanted.

I’ve decided that I’m going to be writing the two of them off Happily Ever After and park Jazi the OC in that state. Their story has come to an end and I haven’t RP’d her in months in any real serious vein.

So that said, I will be changing this blog to Risri’s this weekend when I have the time to do so. @risrielthron will become her archives and I’ll set up a linked page here to it when I do so. I don’t think I’ll be making a new blog for Jazi. And I won’t be deleting anything I’ve written, so the archives will still have Jazi things and I’ll probably make pages to link to the tags I have for all of Jazi’s stuff.

As for how I’m doing? I’m okay. I haven’t lost a friend, NewsNerd and I are still good friends. But I feel like JazixDunn and Jazi’s story because of it are at a point where we can close the book.

idk i’ve been thinking a lot about night elves and esp how night elf families tend to be organized. the maternal side of the family is the Important side, where the eldest woman is referred to as shan’alunei. in lieu of surnames in a culture that holds a wide variation of traditions behind it, kaldorei might refer to themselves as [Name] [shan’alunei’s name]’dorei

alu'da - grandma alo'da - grandpa an'da - papa minn'da - mama marin'da - sister aran'da - brother thal'da - aunt thol'da - uncle thaldorei - matrilineal cousin (da/das doesn’t apply for cousins. dara is applicable but deemed excessive in most situations, usually a cousin that you are very close to is referred to as a brother or sister.) tholdorei - patrilineal cousin

turn “da” into “dara” to formalize it

“da” becomes “as” to indicate patrilineal relation. a half sister from your father would be your marin'as. “da” becomes “daras” for formalizing. most commonly used when referring to a relative that is older than you.

continued hc: darnassus was the name of the night elf settlement where the first temple dedicated to elune on the shore of the well of eternity. it was an incredibly holy site that was obliterated in the wake of the shattering. that is where their language and their new capital on teldrassil got their names

Solidago What is your character’s greatest triumph so far?

(Oocly I don’t think she has one yet. I put in her backstory things but other than surviving the daily grind of running the paper there is nothing I would say is her greatest triumph)“I have many years ahead of me, Elune willing. My purpose is to see each day’s challenge through. I do not know that I have a ‘greatest’ triumph. I am proud to have become a Druid, a teacher, a photographer, a journalist, and a business woman along with finding happiness with my chosen partner. I am not sure I would list any of that as a triumph, however.”

Reflection on a Lost Friend

Risri sat on the rock looking back at Azeroth. The Kaldorei felt the pull to go home and never step foot upon the fel forsaken ground that was Argus again. The small group with her made her feel that desire even stronger. What they were doing, maybe it would make a difference to someone. Maybe that person would step foot upon this world to protect the one they came from. A lot was hanging on maybe.

The day though it struck her suddenly what day it was. A year had passed it seemed in the blink of an eye. Risri pulled her journal and began to write.

People come and people go in our lives. Each one affects us in some small way. From the moment you first meet, the first conversation you have with someone, it is from that moment that we are changed. New thoughts. New ways to understand. New ideas.

The first day I met you, I was intrigued. I was interested. I thought you strange but so energetic. You never stopped moving. But in the early days, when it was just us. When we would sit at the end of the day and just recount what we had seen and done. It made us friends. Those moments and hundreds more that followed. All of it influenced who I became.

Something changed somewhere. We grew apart. Your passion changed from reporting the news to being the news. We tried to support you. To keep it from the public. But something failed. I still believe the option you chose was not the right one. I do wish for your happiness, however.

I would not be where I am today without you. You will forever be a part of who I am.

No matter where we are, or what we do, we will always have that friendship that we built. I was angry at you for so long. I was angry at myself for so long. But I have come to realize that is a useless emotion. I do not hate you. I could never hate you. You are the sister I never had.

Elune be with you.

She closed the notebook with a snap. Looking around once more at the team assembled since she left. They were good souls, they just were not her. Brushing away the tears, Risri stood her gaze moving once again to the planet and prayer for Latilda whispered softly in Darnassian.

Reverence

Shyness

But when you do feel in your element, you act with a wisdom and sensitivity never found in people with thicker skins.

Sensitivity

You have delicate, sensitive perceptions; you can be deeply moved by appearances – the right light in a room, or good food, or the texture of a piece of clothing. Expressive, intelligent language has a powerful hold on you; your mind works better when it is inspired and provoked by vivid imagery. It can be sad to live in a world which is often so ugly and not properly looked after. But you know that things can be otherwise, and you have the ability to appreciate the world at its best.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wanted to send out some love today because it is my thing usually on Wednesday to try to brighten people’s day by sending them a little love anon but today is Thanksgiving here in the U.S. and I wanted to combine Wonderful Wednesday with Thanksgiving.

I am thankful this year for so much. Looking back over the past year its been go go go for so much of it. You all have made being a part of this community so wonderful. Even when we’ve had bad things happen, you all have rallied and flipped to help spread the positive vibes and support to people.

I want to shout out to so many people. To all of you who follow me, follow @the-royal-courier or RP with me on Risri, just Thank You. To all of you who write here and share your stories with the world, Thank you.

I wanted to shout out to all the GM’s out there who do so much behind the scenes to bring events to their guilds and the community at large.

@enigmatic-elegance and @coldwall-collective you all are such a fun group that hide in the shadows in public view so well. That you continue to run your weekly events and monthly brawl is wonderful and loved by the community.

@householt Thank you all for bringing me into your circle and welcoming me everytime whether on Risri or my Holt. All of you are wonderful funny and great people that I feel privileged to get to be a part of and @adhelin you are amazing!
