Why doesn’t Saito have a totem? SInce he’s going under with the rest of the team, he should probably get one. That would make getting him out of Limbo a whole lot simpler. Ariadne gets one, and she wasn’t even supposed to be part of the actual job. If Saito did have one, where did it go?

What is ariADNES LAST NAME?!?!?!

When it came to it (& I think the first time I gave her a last name was in a fic I wrote called Grace…?) I named Ariadne, Porter because I liked the meaning (port- Latin, to carry; porter- Middle English, etc. portier- old French, gate or door keeper) which I thought went well with her given name and her role. It also has a nice, crisp cadence in my mind, which I could imagine her saying really nicely in her accent, and it’s common enough to let her beautiful first name shine. 

(Just to add, I named Arthur, Moss. @fortesque asked me at the time if it was because the prompt involved an ad with Kate Moss in it, but actually I named Arthur after Moss from The IT Crowd :) Not just because I love Moss, but also at the time there was a sort of fic version of Arthur who was brilliant at his job, but utterly socially inept & various degrees of emotionally illiterate ranging from ‘a bit uptight’ to ‘Vulcan robot’. That sort of reminded me of Moss, so there we go. Later on I discovered that it actually has two meanings, one is the Middle English corruption of the name Moses, and the other is a topographical name- ‘person who lives by the/a peat bog.’)

In my fic I gave Ariadne the last name “Wood” after the English architects John Wood the Elder and Younger. They were responsible for some of the really impressive architecture in Bath, UK, where I studied abroad in college. In other news: I am a giant nerd. 

(I used Weisman as Arthur’s last name usually because I write him as Jewish and I like that it sounds like “wise man”. And I had Eames’s first name as Daniel entirely because @saynotozombies picked it for the RP we did.)

I think in Breaking News I called her Ariadne Loukas. I went with something Greek because, well, Ariadne. I’m not sure what other authors have gone with.

arthur calls eames "mr. eames" so i think that's his last name so really WE HAVE A TON OF CHARACTERS WITH ONLY HALF NAMES AND IT SUCKS LMAO

It really does! But there’s infinite options for fanfic authors now so that’s a plus??
