Pin poem

A poem about Pin and Leafy (Leafpin!) inspired by the poem Gunga Din and the first two seasons of BFDI.

You may talk of Grapes and Cherries When each group is building ferries So to cross the great Canal and rip the ribbon; But if you should fly past it Though your boat had never crashed it Soon the pointed one will keep you far from winning. Now atop a balance beam Where no one was on a team The only goal of twenty was to win, Of all the items quickened The one who kept me stickened Was an oozy scarlet thumbtack known as Pin.

She was "Pin! Pin! Pin! We've got to help each other win this, Pin! Hey! We need to get to snatching With our lengthy limbs of latching! You pointed plastic pinion, help me, Pin!"

Though few would try to stop us The one that stood atop us Appeared to be a bloom with petals five. She claimed she needed space And she put me in my place But when Pin snatched me, that's how I survived. We planned to run her over Although we didn't know her, The Flower's kick soon launched us all too far. While Blocky tried to warn us, The cube could not return us, Although he kicked those Non-Slip Shoes So Ha.

It was "Pin! Pin! Pin! Remember our alliance, we can win! We're half of who is in it, So let's get back on! We'll win it! We just need two people down now, let's go, Pin!"

As for both the rock and tear, They had fallen from the pier And we stood together, neither wont to fall. Though we still could not decide Who could take the winning side; We both would have some, and still wanted all. On the bridge we both would linger (though Pin held up the wrong finger) Until a speaker told us otherwise. He said to leave the beam So to choose two different teams. It's not that bad, but I wished it was lies.

It was "Pin! Pin! Pin! How could he have put our friendship in the bin? I'd have jumped right off for you If we could stay together too! Hey! I should not choose if I cannot choose Pin!"

I won't forget the day When my life had gone astray, Left outcast by Firey once I saw him win. I knew I had to do it Put that paper slip right through it Then came in my first alliance-mate, dear Pin. She did not see my certificate Didn't know how I could get to it But I misspoke, and let her know my sin. Now my sweet friend had turned bitter And without a healing center I now must face a death command from Pin.

It was Pin! Pin! Pin! She would have let me on, were she to win! Wasn't worth it to spite Firey Just to make her act so fiery. This death's a hard-earned penalty from Pin.

Soon, by Firey's hang glider My bleak future looked much brighter Though I still would live life paying for my sin. I saw a map beside me And hoped that it would hide me But soon, it all was ripped to shreds by Pin. And I'll walk back later on (they will miss me when I'm gone) So that I may see the battle fought again. I may see Firey or Bubble, Wouldn't think they'd be much trouble, But the one that I missed most was always Pin.

Yes, Pin! Pin! Pin! You slimy squishy cherry thumbtack, Pin! Though you knew you couldn't trust me And for that you tried to crush me, You are my heroic leader… HELP ME! PIN!
