IMO, blurring the lines between “I’m defending them because they’re right” and “I’m defending them because you’re taking this too far” is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracy–even in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.

Mob mentality is extremely strong in humans and it’s also extremely dangerous. Mobs don’t think things through. Mobs kill and they destroy and they can’t be reasoned with. Someone trying to calm a mob down isn’t someone defending the ~problematic party~ It’s time we re-learn that.

Hey man, I’m not sure if you’re aware of this, but that guy you were dealing with earlier used to go by the name “Chadsupporters” as well as many other accounts. This guy has not only targeted you but the majority of people in the Gameoverse fandom. He has used slurs and threats towards people who did nothing wrong, and he recently caused someone to leave Tumblr entirely because they were overwhelmed by this sheer harassment they were receiving.

Let’s just say some of the more *ahem* verbose NxV fans can be major assholes bc their ship isn’t canon.

As in harassing everyone from minor fans to Glitch staff to the voice actors themselves.

As in intentionally writing fanfics made to make Uzi look like an evil, cheating, whore so that V looks like an Angel.

As in throwing literal tantrums at Glitch’s merch designers bc the one canon ship getting merch was apparently “erasing them”

As in hurling actual death threats and racist remarks at Liam Vickers (the show creator), at Luke and Kevin Lerdwichigal (the co-owners of Glitch), James Bailey (writer, animator, voice actor, and a bunch of other important exec stuff for Glitch and SMG4), Elsie Lovelock (Uzi’s VA), and more.

It’s not all Envy shippers thankfully, nor is it the majority of the fanbase, but it’s definitely the majority of the extreme shippers who fall below a certain age.
