I need mean Luke to find out he got you pregnant plsss
He'd genuinely be the worst about it 😭😭
☆Luke would be annoyed at first- the last thing that he needs to worry about right now is a child coming in and messing everything up. He almost tells you to just go get an abortion. Especially when he would likely have to be involved in it. Especially knowing that the kid would have to grow up in a world where the gods still existed.
☆Your eyes were wide when you had approached him, after finding out the news. Luke didn't take it so well, face screwed up in an angry scowl, snapping at you and asking why in the gods name you didn't use protection with him (it was always his idea not to in the first place). It was a messy, heated conversation, and you didn't talk for several days after it.
☆Though, Luke reasoned to himself late one night after you had fearfully dropped the baby bomb on him, this was a way to ensure your help to destroy the gods. Sure, now you were pregnant, and required special care and all that. But where else would be safer but with him? At Kronos's side? You'd have all the privileges he does, and be rewarded almost the same when he finally got his rise back to power in the world.
☆After pondering on it and managing to find an angle, Luke seeks you out. He puts on the most apologetic face that he can muster, chocolate-brown eyes finding yours. "Hey. I'm sorry about the other night. I...just needed time to think. We're so young, y'know?" He murmurs, using that soft tone that you've always responded well to.
Your lips purse, but he's been such a steady presence in the last few months; maybe it was just an irrational, knee-jerk reaction stemming from shock. "So I should keep the baby?" You question quietly.
Luke makes himself sigh thoughtfully, now playing with a strand of your hair. "I don't know if it's safe for the kid, growing up in situations like we did," he muses, like that's the part that he cares about.
"Unless..." His dark eyebrows furrow, making you lean in a little. "Unless?" You repeat, a faint glimmer of hope in your voice. "Unless..." His eyes dart from side to side, leaning in close to your face. "There's somewhere safer we can raise it. Without the gods' interference and family drama."
His thumb finds your knee now, rubbing soothing circles. "It'd require leaving camp, but...I know some people." He murmurs. The idea still seems distant, so you agree, figuring there's other demigods or mortals out there where you can live a normal life together. After all, not everyone stuck around camp forever, right?
☆(This is when Luke openly betrays camp in TLT). A short month later, you discover what he meant. He's already tried convincing others discreetly in the camp, recruited some for his cause. You had recoiled in horror when he finally revealed who he was working for: Kronos.
"I'm not joining the side of a Titan!" You say firmly. Luke raises an eyebrow, unimpressed. "Aren't you? What about the kid?" His eyes dart down to your stomach, still not noticeable yet despite your palm naturally finding it at his glance.
"They'll be fine with me. The further away from this madness, even, the better." Your lip wobbles, like it's taking a lot out of you to not just give into Luke. He's made it your natural response after this long, after all.
Luke circles you, still holding Backbiter. He clicks his tongue. "And let it grow up without a dad? Never knowing its own father? I thought you wanted to keep it to give it as normal a life as possible."
The fight seeps out of your shoulders at the thought of having to explain to this kid why their father was absent, having to parent around it. Maybe they'd even idolize him, develop a complex about it. The thought of your child's happiness being compromised after you had chosen to keep them was enough to sway you, as Luke had thought it would be.
"How will we be safe?" You murmur, like you're finally thinking it through logistically, open to giving it a chance. Luke's eyes brighten in triumph, quickly twisting his expression into something more soft.
He places a hand on your shoulder. "I'll keep you safe. Promise." The words are so sugary sweet that they sound fake. "Don't be an idiot, it's not just your life we're talking about here," he adds softly. That night, you leave camp with him, an uncertain future ahead of you.
