Letting Go

We’ve broken up for a while. Still, I find it difficult to let go.  It seems like the statement is a nicer way of saying ‘ throw the thing away ’. That someone. Those feelings. Those thoughts. Those emotions.

Two perspectives. 

Yes, letting go is ‘setting yourself free’ and blablabla...

but who am I kidding? 

Seriously, how can I? Throw something that I treasure? Toss the person I love and still love? — In a way, letting go is like accepting that we, sooner or later, forget them. More importantly, that they forget about us. To accept that we are forgettable. An attack on the ego and yet also not care, or for my present situation, to pretend not to care.
