roxy sipped her glass of wine slowly, laughing at a joke they had just told. she had been spending the past few weeks hooking up with a guy she met while waiting for coffee on her way to work. usually she wasn’t one to be woo’d, but something about him swept her off her feet. now she found herself spending nearly every second thinking about him. “ i’m gonna go grab some more wine, ” she said after a few minutes, smiling and getting up to head to his kitchen. she paused to gaze at his refrigerator magnets, her eyes narrowing in confusion as she saw a photo of her boss. “ hey uh… why do you have a picture of my boss of your fridge ? ” she asked somewhat nervously.
it was unlike jesse to spend his days with just one girl , why would he when he had both the looks and the networth to have multiple women lining up outside his door ? however , he really liked roxy ––– he wasn’t sure whether or not she only intrigued him because he had met her under casual circumstances instead of being forced by his parents to talk to someone at one of their many galas . it seemed like a genuine interest . . . it must be considering she’s the only girl he’s spent time getting to know , usually jesse buys them a drink , they fall into bed and part ways the next morning . of course they’ve slept together , but his eager to leave subsides . he nods as the femme stands up to retrieve another drink , quickly pulling out his phone to respond to a few texts . her next question confused him and so the male swiftly hopped off the couch and into the kitchen , hazel hues focusing on the photo that the girl was gazing at . he laughed as his brain registered the image of himself at five years old and his father at disney world for the first time , he could remember that day as if it were yesterday . ‘ that’s my dad . ’ he informed her before pointing at himself in the picture . ‘ and that’s me , as you can probably tell by the hair . ’ it took a few seconds for him to register that roxy had referred to him as her boss , all those times she had to leave his apartment in the early hours of the morning , she was leaving to work for his father ? ‘ wait , what ? my dad’s your boss ? ’ the red head felt the need to repeat .
