Hey, so we’re looking for you! If you are an actor/aspiring actor or a filmmaker/aspiring filmmaker, you are just what we are searching for.

We are casting for our first short film called: THE PEOPLE

The world isn't like we know it today. In 2051, the old government began construction on an oil pipeline that would run through Native American territory without approval. This sparked outrage that lead to the organization of a grassroots human rights group called, The People. The People became insurgent and started using aggressive methods to stop the pipeline from being built on their land. This caused the old government to declare all Native Americans enemies of the state and locked down all Reservations within the Nation. This was the beginning of the 2nd American Civil War. 34 years later, the Reservations that once were sovereign, lie desolate and occupied by a rotating system of military guard. A young man finds himself dreaming of a better life for his younger brother and the people he loves. His heritage now only lives in story and his culture is nearly gone. So he plots an escape from the occupied hell hole that once held a great tribal nation of free people. He knows there has to be something better out there and he's willing to die trying to find it. 

We need willing and enthusiastic actors and crew members to join our team!

This short film will be entered into local, national, and international film festivals. This is a great opportunity to gain experience or further establish your film credits. We have plans to turn this short film into a feature that we hope to premiere at Sundance Film Festival. Being cast provides a great chance to be part of the feature!

We are all about working with our local community and with this first short, we need your help more than ever. Join us and be part of something amazing and fun.

Here’s what you have to do:

1. Send us an email at: [email protected]. In the subject write: “The Peoples Audition”. 

Tell us a little about yourself: Name, age, gender, height, where you’re from (we’re casting locally and are unable to provide transport from out of state actors and crew), and whether you are an interested actor or crew (specify your interested crew job). We have male and female roles open.

2. We will email you back with further instructions that include:

If you are an actor, a request for resume (although not required), a headshot (could be professional or a nicely balanced/clear snapshot of you. No selfies), then we will send a script side for you to read and instructions on recording a video audition. We ask that you be 14 years or older and have your parents permission if you are under 18. 

If you are interested in crewing our project with or without experience we will inquire a little more about your past work, interested on set job and experience level. We will ask you to include a brief bio and why you are interested in filmmaking. Please include your age and where you’re from. We ask that you be 18 or older.

3. Submit requested material back to us via email and we will review everything and get back to you as soon as possible.

At the present time of this casting call, we are unable to provide monetary compensation for your work. We are in the on-going process of raising funds for our project and are confident in our efforts. Until specified in writing, we cannot promise compensation. But we can promise food and a team that will make every effort to make you feel like family.
