How to newify your old clothing using 100% natural indigo
Buaisou - (Boo-i-saw)
The ‘Buaisou’ indigo dying studio is located in Brooklyn at the Morgan stop in Bushwick. My first visit there was beyond expectation. Since going and writing this post I’ve very quickly become a huge fan of natural indigo dying. I was stoked to notice something of a re-birth happening right here in the US, but still so few people are aware of it and how awesome it is.

Denim by italian brand
The Seafarer an Italian brand that showed in the TMRW section for new and cutting-edge brands.
Sophomores Marjorie Kraus (left) and Jeanette Davison achieve ideal harmony of costume with lumberjack shirts, tails of which may be tucked inside jeans or left hanging sloppily outside. Note their pigtail hair-dos. Scene is in Mandel Hall Coffee Shop, busy after-class rendezvous site.
This Plako zipper is (reportedly) the first design by Gideon Sundback, later the inventor of the zipper. BUT, the patent itself, Patent #788317, is attributed to his boss, the inventor of the first proto-zipper, Whitcomb Judson. It is from the Hookless company, but is pre-hookless. The Plako fastener, or, technically Plako XX, is stamped with a patent date of April 25, 1905. This fastener / zipper was introduced in 1909, before technological advancements superseded it.
