Excerpt Eight, Morndas 26th of Last Seed-27th

Made it back to Whiterun. Brought the message to the Jarl but he said he didn't care about it until I deal with the dragon. Spent the night at the Bannered Mare. Went over to the Drunken Huntsman and met a fetching Dunmer woman named Jenassa. I liked her attitude so I hired her. We set off for Bleak Falls Burrow. The trip was easy, ran into a few bandits but nothing we couldn't handle. Jenassa is extremely skilled in combat, it's beautiful really. I don't know a lot about her past, but I hope to learn more. As we were making our way through the ruins Jenassa began to speak to me. "Why are we doing this when we could be making some gold?" She asked me. "Because the Jarl wants me to" I replied 'Forget the Jarl! He is an n'wah! We should do something exciting and money making! Have you heard of the dark Brotherhood?" She asked with a gleam of bloodlust in her eyes "Only a little. They are an illegal version of the Morag Tong right?" I asked "Basically, but they do more varied jobs and they aren't motivated by petty house squabbles. We should seek them out. I have heard about a boy in Windhelm trying to contact them." She seemed very eager as she talked. "Okay. After we get this dragon stone we will head up there." I told her this to please her. We continued through the ruins and encountered a giant spider, which we annihilated. Then we met Arvel the Swift. The little s'wit tried to double cross us, so we cut him down. After that there was a series of draugr and traps. Nothing too difficult. We finally came upon another one of those black walls. Again I felt a surge of power, then we were confronted by the draugr lord. We defeated him and found the dragon stone. I don't know if I want to return it to farengar just yet. I think I will make him wait. For now the Dark Brotherhood is calling...

Excerpt Six, Loredas 22nd of Last Seed

Made it to Solitude. Nice city if I say so. Except for the public execution as soon as I entered the gates, nasty bit of business that is. Made my way up to Castle Dour. Talked to General Tulius and Legate Rikke. They said if I wanted in the Legion I had to clear out some Fort Hraagstad nearby. 

As I was on my way to the fort I was attacked by an Argonian thief. Once I reached the fort it was clear to me it was going to be difficult to clear the place out. It took me the rest of the day to kill all the bandits inside and outside the complex. I was about to find a bedroll to rest in when I was attacked by Hired Thugs! Apparently I had aggravated some Solitude guard and he wanted me dead. I made short work of the thugs then went to sleep. Next morning I made my way back to Solitude and told the Legate. I was inducted into the Legion and given some armor. Not too bad I guess.

Excerpt Seven, Sundas 23rd of Last Seed

Returned to Tulius and Rikke. They told me I needed to head to Korvanjund to reclaim some ancient Nord crown before the Storm-Guards (they keep telling me their real names, but I don't care to remember.) So I bought a horse creature. It cost me 1000 septims (rip off) it was my first time to ride a horse, but it was not unlike riding a guar back home in Morrowind. Made it to the ancient Nord ruins. Met Rikke and Hadvar outside. Storm Hoods beat us there.We cut through them with ease. After a few skirmishes with them we ran into draugr, apparently they are dead Nords that rise up when disturbed.Fought through them to the draugr overlord. We slew him and claimed the Jagged Crown. They told me to take it to Tulius. On my way out of the ruins I ran into a strange black wall, it began to glow and I felt a surge of power. Note to self: Research this wall Made it back to Solitude with the crown. Tulius told me that my next task is to deliver a message to Baalgruf in Whiterun. I set out tomorrow.

Oh, so we're "filthy lizards" now? We didn't enslave anyone. What we did was just in claiming Morrowind and Vvardenfell. Your race, on the other hand, is not just and enslaved us.

Slavery was wrong yes, I do not deny that fact. But after being given freedom you would think the Argonians would learn from the mistakes of the Dunmer and be the bigger race. They attacked Morrowind when it was weak from the eruption of Red Mountain. Besides my family is from House Indoril, we didn't keep slaves. That was house Dres and House Telvanni. Dunmer kept Argonians, but they didn't destroy their homes or drive them from them, like the Argonians did to us. We were wrong, but the Argonians were too. Two wrongs don't make a right, lizard.

Excerpt 5, Fridas 21st of Last Seed

Made it to Riften around 2am. As soon as I approach the gates I am shaken down by the guard. Says there is a tax to enter the city. I didn't believe him, so I confronted him. He got scared about losing his job so he opened the gate.

As soon as I entered the city I am confronted by a man named Maul. He was very annoying to say the least. I wanted nothing more than to punch him straight in his mouth, to shut him up. 

I went into a bar called the Bee & Barb. Nice enough place, lot of colorful characters in there for sure. I stayed the night and got up the next morning to look around town.

Some man named Brynjolf approached me. Made comments about my wealth, I took it as an insult. Just walked away from him. Met a Dunmer man named Brand-Shei. Says he was raised by Argonians (Shameful). Said he is descended from Telvanni. Told him I would see if I could dig up anything about his past.

After spending a day here I decided there wasn't much for me here. Thieves Guild runs everything, and I am not a thief. So I took a cart to Solitude. It's the capital. Might as well go join the Legion.

Excerpt 4, Turdas 20th of Last Seed

Made it to Windhelm today, hated it. The first thing I saw as I entered the gates was a racist Nord verbally assaulting a Dunmer woman. I wanted to kill him, but I contained myself. Went to the Grey Quarter, it was awful.  After witnessing the treatment of my fellow Dunmer I made a decision, even though I hate the Empire, I am going to join them just to Kill Ulfric Storm-S'wit. 

Helped out a Dunmer shop-keep named Revyn. He had some "stolen" ring he wanted me to "return". He paid me a nice 400 septims for the job. Plus I was helping out a fellow Dunmer.

Went into the palace, saw Ulfric, should have killed him right then and there.  He will fall by my hand one day, I swear to Azura he will.

Eventually I got tired of Windhelm. So I took some of the gold that Revyn gave me and I took a cart out of here. Decided to head south to Riften. Hopefully I get there soon, it's getting late.

Excerpt Three, Middas 19th of Last Seed

Well, night has descended on Skyrim and I write in my journal from a small bed at the top of the Valtheim Towers. I left Whiterun this morning and decided to head to Windhelm. My reasons were that I wanted to meet Ulfric Storm-sword or whatever and tell him my mind! It's his fault I was arrested and almost killed! Stupid Nord! Also I figure if any Dark Elves life in this Azura forsaken land they would be in Windhelm, it is the closest to Morrowind after all. Also I might travel to the Shrine of the Dawn Mother near there.

Cart to Windhelm was too expensive so I decided to walk. Ran into bandits near White River Watch, killed them. Journeyed on and found the Ritual Stone, and a necromancer. Sadly the necromancer was a Dunmer woman, to shame herself with necromancy, so sad....

Ran into Talsgor, a traveling Nord bard. He is a real character, traveling to let people hear his crappy music. Eventually I came up to Valtheim towers, bandits were staying in the place and it took me a good while to get rid of all of them. Decided to stay the night here. Write more today...

Excerpt Two, Day Two

I was right, yesterday was the 17th, so that makes today the 18th of Last Seed, a Tirdas. I write in my journal from the Bannered Mare, a nice little inn in Whiterun.

On my way here I ran into a group of warriors fighting a giant, I helped out with a few shots to the Giants knees. After the creature was felled a Nord woman approached me. Her name was Aela, she wasn't half bad looking, for a Nord that is. They said they are part of the companions. I might have to look into their little "guild" at sometime.

I also went to the palace today and spoke to the Jarl. I didn't like him. He seemed too indecisive and cowardly, no doubt he serves the Empire. His wizard and steward were far worse! The wizard was a s'wit and the steward was pompous like you wouldn't believe! His sons were weird and his daughter needed to be slapped. The only pleasurable person in that entire place was the house carl Irileth, a Dunmer woman.

They asked me to go to Bleak Falls Burrow, some Nord burial ruins. I don't think I will. They want some stone tablet, I say get it yourself if it's so important.

I then came to this inn and took a seat. The Nord bartender was nice enough, though she must think everyone stupid, if she honestly thinks we believe that Redguard is her daughter. Doesn't matter, they have wine, fish, and a warm bed so I'm sold. I will stay the night here and set out to make some gold tomorrow!

Excerpt One, Day One

A lot of things have happened since I entered Skyrim, I decided a journal would be the best way to keep track of it all. Might as well write down what all happened so far. As for the date I am not sure what day it is. Last I checked it was the 16th of Last Seed, so I assume it is now the 17th , but I could be wrong.

On my way from Morrowind to Skyrim I was faced with a small problem. Imperial Soldiers and some Storm-dagger or Storm-hood? (The name eludes me) rebels engaged in some fighting. The Imperials instantly mistook me for a rebel. (Why they assume a Dunmer female is part of an all Nord Rebellion I have no clue). But they took us to some quaint little town named Helgen...then they tried to kill us, namely me. But in the midst of it a dragon attacked. While all the humans decided to stare at the flying lizard I ran, met up with one of the Imperial fellows in charge of my execution (decided to let him live for now). 

We ran through the keep and some tunnels and made it out to day. The boy suggested we go to some village named Riverwood and meet his blacksmith uncle. Sounded like an ok idea.

The boy said I should join the Imperial Legion, I laughed it off. What a ridiculous idea! (though I must say I like their armor, it is comfy and stylish!)

Met the boys uncle. He is an alright guy, he gave me supplies for my journeys. His wife was rude, thought I would steal her husband. While we Dunmer women are known for promiscuity, it is usually with other Dunmer, not Nords.

The blacksmith asked me to go to the capitol of the area, Whiterun and warn the Jarl of the dragons. I don't think it is worth my time right now. I am sure that was just an isolated incident of the dragon. Its probably flown off by now, hopefully going and causing harm to the Argonians (Lizards should be with lizards, I say.)

Decided I would stay in the inn tonight, maybe do some odd jobs around town. Heard about some kind of a love triangle and a break inn. Might look into those.

RUMORS: Apparently some little boy in Windhelm is contacting the Dark Brotherhood.  Doesn't matter, the Dark Brotherhood is nothing compared to the Morag Tong back in Morrowind. It was legal for them to perform a contract on you!

Also there seems to be a Shrine to Azura up north. I will need to make a pilgrimage there some time, the Lady would like that.

OOC POST: Skyrim RPers, unite!

So some of you’ve already heard whispers about this, but it’s time to get this up and running.

If you’re interested in a low-key, semi-real time Skyrim RP, my coworkers, my friends, and I are starting one over on Formspring. The setting will be the Bee and Barb in Riften, and OCs (Dragonborn or otherwise) and NPCs are welcome to come play. (I’ll get together a more formal page about the setting over the next couple of days while we wait for people to get their pages up.)

Responses to questions asked are not space limited.

You can screen replies, which allows you to script out actions, etc, in a way you can’t on Twitter.

No spam/harassment on your feed, since you control what you answer.

Characters have home pages, so if you’re RPing at work with a single player you can “sit” on their page and know for a fact what’s going to show will be safe for work.

No threads to stagnate/stall when waiting for people who get busy/etc to come back and post. Your characters walk into the inn when they’re there and walk out when they’re not.

No limit on how many characters are linked to an e-mail, which means you can run more than one without having to make dummy accounts/getting annoying messages a la Twitter.

What I’m Offering:

I will host a master list of links to all character profiles submitted to me (see Braith’s about for an idea of what I mean.)

I will keep track of which NPCs have been called and which haven’t so we don’t end up with ALL THE ULFRICS and no Aelas. 

I will NOT moderate, “accept,” or “reject” characters. I’m providing guidelines and the loosest of rules so we may all play together nicely. However, if you ask for an NPC and someone is already actively running one, once I’ve mentioned this, please don’t dive in and run your version anyway.

What I ask:

If you’re interested, use the template under this readmore to tell us more about the character you’ll run. (Consider not making them Dragonborn.) Post the template on your Tumblr, reply to this post with the link, and I’ll add you to the Master List.

If you want an NPC, send me an ask and I’ll tell you if he or she has been claimed yet. If not, woo! If so, pick another.

Please think carefully before making your character a Nightingale, Harbinger, Listener, Archmage, etc. These are titles that would be much more fun to achieve with other characters via plot. (If I put Braith into play, she won’t be a guild master OR a Dragonborn, for example.) Think of this more of a reboot of a character rather than a re-hash of your game. 

You’ll want to make a Formspring account, too.
