Do you want to play in Sonic Racing Crossworlds as Espio wearing Shadow's ring on his left arm? You know, like in TS2 act 1 (minus the ninja outfit)?
Well now you can! Mod in the link! For manual install!
How to manually install? Make sure you don't have other mods to replace Espio in the game enabled, and copy the contents of the zip in the game's folder under Paks/~mods (Steam\steamapps\common\SonicRacingCrossWorlds\UNION\Content\Paks\~mods) if you don't have any mod you can create the "~mods" folder yourself, place the assets there (they can be inside a folder for tidyness) and that's it!
NOTE: Doesn't (yet) work with shield effect because I am SUCH a noob modder! And I haven't checked if it works with slime yet. I managed this in just three days of work, baby steps ;u;
Today I managed to sit down and concentrate for 2hs+ on Tinted Shadows 2 Act 2 (I still don't know if that's what I'll call it in the end). No distractions!
This hadn't happened for a few weeks, I kept not feeling motivated but I am now. My creative attention was all over the place. I started learning strudel music coding, went back to 3D in an attempt to model Poet Espio's clothes in hopes that one day it'll be modded it into Crossworlds (shitty progress under the cut), tried writing a one-shot that I ended up dropping, started a small video game project of my own (still soooo barebones) in Godot which I never used before, thought of properly learning how to compose vgm again... The compass keeps turning!
But! I'm happy I finally felt the call to write again! Maybe I needed some rest from it.
Hope I'll get more done soon. As always, I'm writing here to fuel that motivation.

With this a hiatus starts, because Act 2 is still pretty much "in development". Stressing and sad stuff has happened irl during the past few months that have hindered my progress, and didn't leave me in the right state of mind to be super creative. But things are kinda looking brighter now!
I have readied some elements for stuff I want to happen during the rest of this story, but I still have to turn those into a satisfying conclusion. The best way to know when that happens is by either subscribing to me on AO3, or follow this very blog, where you can also send me your questions!

In the distance, an alarm started blaring. Espio instinctively turned invisible once more, and cursed. “I saw robots on my way here, we should probably get moving.”
Shadow agreed with that. They needed a safe place to talk, and this area was compromised, as it was the last one he had reported any activity in. Shadow let go of one of Espio’s hands so he could pull his invisible body agaist his own by the waist, eliciting a gasp from him. “Stay hidden, I’m taking us out of here.”
Nnghhhh I love it!!! I didn't expect another scene from chapter 12, yay! :D They look fantastic 🤩 Love the translucent ninja Espio and Shadows pose here 😍 I'm a bit envious of Espio xD
🍿!!!!! Now I wanna reread and imagine everything as if I was watching it at the cinema, so cool!!?
Also the lighting looks really interesting, I think those are lights on the ceiling, but at first glance I read it as the sunlight reflected on Earth coming through some side windows, like from below Shadow (with no artificial lights, just that sunlight and the reflected light) Maybe it's because it looks darker on the lower half that gave me that impression? In any case, so cool!
I'm honored yet confused by your comment, lol 😄 I don't think it's written as a script? Not intentionally at the very least. I think the only parts that resemble a script format are the phone messages exchanged by the characters, but I don't set the locations / write pure dialogues... I'm not even sure what elements a script shoud exactly have? 😆 I'm intrigued now!
“Shadow, there you are. I need you to do something for me.”
The hedgehog, who had been peacefully brooding at the sunset, didn’t turn around or even open his eyes. “No.” He remained standing with his arms crossed, hoping she would leave.
“What—wait! You haven’t even listened to me yet!” Rouge’s wings batted in frustration. “I’m willing to give you one of my Chaos Emeralds in return.”
Those words finally made Shadow open his eyes and look at her. The way she was frowning, how she couldn’t stay completely still, made it clear something was bothering her. But enough to part with one of the precious stones?
“What is it?” Shadow was intrigued now.
Instead of replying immediately, Rouge looked around, searching for the right words to convey what she wanted from him.
“I need you to find out what’s wrong with Espio.”
“Who?”
“Espio… the detective chameleon from Team Chaotix?”
“Right. And why is he worth a Chaos Emerald all of a sudden?” Shadow’s eye ridge rose inquisitively as he turned to fully face her.
The bat averted her eyes, seeming to search for words again. “That’s a story for another time. The point is, I’ve been trying to catch his attention, but no matter how hard I try to woo him, he’s been oblivious to my advances… It can’t be—there has to be an explanation, right? I’ve never failed before. He… there’s no way he’s straight. That’s got to be it!”
Shadow wasn’t about to ask for her reasons behind her sudden interest in the ninja. That was none of his business, nor did he care enough to find out. “If you say so. Have you maybe tried asking him?”
“Asking him!” Rouge straightened suddenly, her wings tensing against her back as she looked almost offended. “I can’t just ask—what if he does like women, and I’m just not—… no, I could never!”
“…If you’re doubting your looks, then that’s not it. Have you considered maybe you’re just not that good at flirting?”
“Huh!? What would you know?”
“Since you came to me for help, I’d assume I know a thing or two.” Shadow uncrossed his arms, one hand coming to rest on his now slightly jutted-out hip.
“I’m not asking you to flirt with him! Just find out for me, maybe ask around—”
“What, are you afraid I might succeed where you failed?” Shadow smirked, unable to stop himself.
“Huh!? You would never! Forget I said anything.” She sighed rather dramatically. “It’s a lost cause…”
Rouge turned around and started walking away, her mind briefly conjuring the image of Shadow seducing Espio. She quickly found herself warming up to the idea for some twisted reason.
“Let’s bet on it, then.”
Rouge stopped in her tracks and listened.
“If I succeed, you give me that Chaos Emerald.” After months of not having any with him, this seemed like a good opportunity for Shadow to easily get his hands on one.
She turned her head and looked at him over her shoulder. “And if you fail? What’s in it for me?”
“Besides having been right about Espio being a lost cause, and your honor being restored? Hm. Name your prize, then.”
“Hmm… If you fail, you’ll have to come with me to Angel Island and distract Knuckles for me for as long as you can. Deal?”
