Ines Belfarre (commission) by @darunk
Well, I drew more Qun’mines. Took me about a week to finish too! Don’t ask me why I chose that color scheme for Ines, one of my friends said it would work so I went with it. Pretty much all of the background scenery I grabbed from random images in the manga since that was my only reference for Milites at the time. I didn’t have much to go by for color scheme stuff either then, but I got the artbook the other day (finally came in the mail), so WOO! Expect more accurate art in the future. :)
I kind of picture this before the Qun’mi leaves for Rubrum at the beginning of the game, and Ines just decides to ambush her with a surprise goodbye hug thing from behind. (I just love these idiots I’m sorry!)
…I doodled two random heads and it ended up turning into a fluffy Qun’mi/Ines picture. I couldn’t help it, they’re adorable! :)
*Casual reblogs because I am proud of this despite the fact that Qun’mi’s hair is a little more yellowish than it should be*
*casually reblogs this because I’m always a slut for qun'mines*
Here’s a short thing I guess.
With her head pounding, throbbing in pain, Ines brings a hand to her face and wipes at her damp cheek. Her breath is shaky, and she wants to scream, but she has no idea why. “Am I having another episode?” she wonders aloud in her office. She dwells not long on the matter, and looks down at whatever she’d been in the middle of writing when the tears had begun to flow.
Qun'mi Tru'e. The name is written in black ink, over and over again, in Ines’ own handwriting. “Qun'mi...Tru'e?” Something stings, not physically, but an undeniably unpleasant feeling gnaws at her. “Qun'mi Tru'e...Qun'mi. Qun'mi. Qun'mi.” It rolls right off her tongue, as easy as her own name. She could swear she's never seen this name before, but the truth quickly becomes undeniable. She's forgotten something.
A knock on her door pulls a minimal amount of her attention from Qun'mi Tru'e. “Come in.” A soldier in uniform enters and salutes. “Report: Magitek development is proceeding as scheduled. Also, we've received a request for backup in one of the newly captured territories. The citizens are causing a minor disturbance. Before proceeding, we-” “Clearance granted.” Ines dismisses the soldier with those words, and he nods. “Yes, Captain.”
Captain. Ines sure as hell wasn't Captain the day before. She knows that much. The soldier closes the door behind him, and she reaches for a nearby filing cabinet. She can only guess the contents. Blueprints, reports probably. Maybe, by some miracle, a hint that would ease her aching need to know exactly who this “Qun'mi Tru'e” is...or was.
Ines scans over the tabs of files. Some of the names are scratched out. Some she simply doesn't recognize. Has she forgotten them too, or has she simply never met them? A couple of names are familiar: Bashtar. There’s no way she could forget the Brigadier General as long as he lives. Icelar. Arguably the most famous colonel in the Empire. Everyone knows him, or knows of him. He has a great relationship with his men. Ines ran into him a few times in the past. He gave off a better vibe than Qator ever did.
Another name rings a bell. Morse. It's written in messy handwriting, and the file contains a few old, smudged notes that she doesn't bother to go through. She skims through a few more files: Balmung, Brionac, Dáinsleif, Vajra. “L'Cie Qun'mi” appears multiple times, as well as a few blurry images of a masked figure operating and testing different Magitek Armors. Ines opens one last file: Ultima.
Poking out from the neat papers is a handwritten letter. With a sense of urgency, Ines grasps it and quickly but gently removes it. Her hands are trembling and she starts to choke up. She feels as if she's going to be sick but she forces herself to read anyway.
Dear Ines,
Part of me hopes you'll never find this, but another part of me knows you will. I don't have much time so I'll cut right to it. You used to work under me. Alongside me in some cases. Those times were fun. Or, as close to fun as you can get when you're a military scientist in times of war. You're smart, Ines. You're talented - maybe even more talented than me. That's why I chose you to succeed me as Captain. There's a lot of other things I want to say about you, but I don't want to screw with your emotions any more than I already am. Just forget me, okay? That's what's best, I promise. Forget me, and move forward.
Qun'mi
Ines swallows a lump in her throat. There are still so many unanswered questions. Her heart burns in her chest, the tears come again, and she does all she can not to wail out loud. She needs to move forward, she needs to leave behind the name “Qun'mi Tru'e.” She can't. Even with no memories her emotions swirl like a storm and she's being steadily torn apart. Then, a voice of salvation calls upon her.
“Captain, there's been a malfunction with model 344. The generator overheated and now the...Captain?” Ines places her hand on the smoking machine, not so much as looking in the direction of the researcher reporting to her. Her eyes glow for a brief moment and the machine powers on. “Let's get this show on the road.”
Qun’mi/Captain Ines - there is always a first time (Because I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately, so I just used that to try to get back to writing. Life has been busy a lot, but I try to keep my writing going. Ah well~) AO3
That she just experienced this still gave her a pause. Never did she imagine to feel this kind of excitement together with her.
Ines shifted a bit to get herself into a comfortable position, tucking a pillow under her head she found cast away at her side. The blankets which usually laid on the bed were torn and forgotten in the heat that slowly came to an end, labored breaths still hanging in the air and from its source Ines couldn’t take her eyes off.
Because, really, the sight she witnessed surpassed the dreams she had of this spectacle.

*throws some bad smut into cyberspace*
Ines furrowed her brow at the stubborn door. She'd never had trouble exiting Qun'mi's office before. It had always been a swift process; it was an extremely swift process now that the tension whenever they were alone grew to be nearly unbearable in a matter of seconds. It wasn't that they had a problem with each other. It was quite the opposite, actually. Ever since they'd acted on their feelings one night in Ines' apartment, they'd grown even closer but also hungrier, craving each other during each hour on and off the clock. It appeared that Qun'mi had finally reached her breaking point. That, or she had stopped caring about regulations and professionalism. There was hardly a difference in her mind. Whatever it was, she expressed it in two words: "Fuck it." "Captain, the manual lock on your door seems to be malfunctioning." Ines reached for a small screwdriver in the pocket of her lab coat. "Should I report it? I'm confident that I can repair..." Her words and her train of thought both stopped when a pair of hands rested on her shoulders. "It's not a malfunction, is it?" "Nope." Qun'mi smiled behind Ines, the faint glow in her eyes fading. Her hands began a simple massage, slowly working to relax the stiff muscles. "There's a lot of tension," she observed. "Tell me about it," Ines sighed. "Oh, you want me to talk dirty to you this time?" Qun'mi teased. "I-I really don't want you to get in trouble," Ines stammered. "Heh." The quiet amused noise made the hairs on the back of Ines' neck stand up. "You've been working tirelessly for weeks," Qun'mi said. "We're way ahead of schedule." She lowered her voice to a whisper. "In fact, you've been such a good girl that I cleared your schedule." "You what?" Ines asked, surprised. "As of two minutes ago, you're off the clock," Qun'mi continued. "Now how about some overtime with your boss?" Ines pinched some skin on her forearm to ensure that she wasn't dreaming. This wouldn't be the first time such fantasies had crept into her sleeping mind. But no, this definitely wasn't a dream. The distinct sensation of Qun'mi's hands sliding down, caressing her through her work garments gave Ines a rush that her imagination just couldn't match. "Let's get this off of you." Qun'mi chuckled and tugged at Ines' lab coat. "You look uncomfortable in that. Or it could just be, well..." She pressed Ines against the door and inhaled. "Hmph." Ines closed her eyes. "Is something wrong, Captain?" "No," Qun'mi murmured. "I just missed your scent. I want to drown in it." "Then what are you waiting for?" Ines tapped her foot once, then added a word for formality. "...C-Captain." "You really want me to hurry, don't you?" Qun'mi finished removing Ines' lab coat and slung it over her shoulder. "Alright, don't worry. I'll take care of you." She gripped Ines' arm and turned her around, immediately locking eyes when they faced each other. "I'll take extra good care of you."
“You just know all the right buttons to push. Don’t you, Captain?” Ines gave a weak smile. Without replying, Qun’mi raised both of her hands to cup Ines’ face. She leaned forward with her head tilted slightly upward, pressing her knee between Ines’ legs and letting their lips brush slightly for only a moment. Ines bit her lip as Qun’mi’s mouth moved out of kissing range and instead settled on her neck. “My coat won’t cover that if you-” “I know,” Qun’mi interjected before immediately returning to sucking on the tender skin. Ines shivered at the sensation of fingertips tracing down her spine through her shirt, and she in turn rested her hands on the armor covering Qun’mi’s back. “You know, it’s not fair,” Ines said. “I really want to touch you.” Qun’mi softly bit Ines’ neck, then receded. She took a step back and gave a slight smirk, seemingly satisfied with the red mark she’d left.
“Alright.” Qun’mi took Ines’ lab coat into her hand and tossed it over her shoulder onto her desk. It landed perfectly with not one thread touching the ground, covering the desk like a tablecloth. “I hope your patience is better than mine. This damn uniform is a pain.” With a half-chuckle half-sigh, Qun’mi proceeded to unfasten her buckles and zippers, one by one. Pieces of fabric slowly peeled off, each layer being nonchalantly thrown into a pile on the ground. When Qun’mi unzipped her final shirt, Ines inhaled audibly. “Hm?” Qun’mi tilted her head. “Something wrong?”
Ines placed trembling hands on Qun’mi’s abdominal muscles. Her lips attempted to form words, but she was only able to manage a quiet whine. “Ha, shh,” Qun’mi said, stepping forward to close the small gap between them. She placed one hand on the door, slipping the other beneath Ines’ skirt and softly stroking over defined folds through moist underwear. “You really need to get it together,” she whispered. “Shut up,” Ines whimpered. Her eyes widened and she immediately tried to correct herself. “Captain...I mean, please...fuck.” “Yeah, I think I get that part,” Qun’mi said. She tugged at Ines’ panties, slowly pulling them down her thighs until her hand could reach the optimal position.
“Now, loudmouth,” Qun’mi jested. “Think you can stay relatively quiet?” Her thumb tapped Ines’ clit, eliciting a squeak. “Sorry,” Ines breathed. “Eh, fuck it,” Qun’mi sighed, dragging her fingers lightly along Ines’ most sensitive area. The hand on the door was over Ines’ mouth in the blink of an eye, muffling her sounds of pleasure. “Crystals, Ines.” Qun’mi eased a finger in, easily done with the abundant moisture. The gesture was accompanied by a distinct wet sound, and Qun’mi gave a smile. “Did I do that?” Ines attempted to look away in embarrassment, but Qun’mi wouldn’t have it. She held Ines’ head in place and watched her reaction to every single touch. A second finger wasn’t difficult to insert. In fact, Qun’mi contemplated adding a third but decided against it due to her aversion to taking any chances when it came to Ines’ body. This encounter could serve as a reminder to keep lubricant in her office, just in case.
Qun’mi silently laughed at herself for letting her mind wander at a time like this. She immediately focused all of her attention on Ines once more: every twitch, every tremor, every movement of her hips, every breath - every single detail. Qun’mi looked at blueprints and machines with great scrutiny, but she looked at Ines like art, with the most beautiful aspect being her climax. Her thumb continued massaging Ines’ clit as the younger woman cried out into her hand, muscles contracting and hands balling into fists against her abdomen.
Qun’mi moved her hand from Ines’ mouth only when her moans died down to heavy breathing. She carefully withdrew her fingers, doing her best to complete the task smoothly. Ines was in her most sensitive state, still on her orgasmic high, and Qun’mi would be damned if the woman she loved didn’t have a comfortable return to reality. With a deep breath, Ines leaned into Qun’mi. “You okay?” Qun’mi was fairly certain she knew the answer, but she always had to double-check. Always. Ines giggled. “Yeah...I’m fine. Hey, Captain?” She stood upright despite her shaking knees. Qun’mi looked fondly at Ines’ smile. “Yeah?” “Hey...Qun’mi.” Ines brought her lips to Qun’mi’s and clasped one of her hands. A few seconds of peaceful silence passed before Ines pulled away and promptly giggled again.
“What’s so funny?” Qun’mi asked. Ines shook her head and dropped to her knees. “Huh, what’s this?” Ignoring the question, Ines pulled Qun’mi’s pants down to her knees, a task done with ease now that all the belts and buckles were gone. “Oh...okay.” Qun’mi’s face flushed as Ines tugged her underwear down to join her pants at her knees. “You’re silly, Captain,” Ines whispered with affection. Qun’mi closed her eyes. “Yeah, sure…” She twitched when Ines’ tongue touched her, the warmth running over every bit of flesh it could. Kisses on her inner thighs, warm dances of a joyful tongue along her folds, what she swore were gentle whispers - it all made Qun’mi want to bring Ines to her feet and kiss her again. But she knew what Ines wanted. Ines wanted to do this for her. So she’d wait and enjoy this gift in the meantime.
Ines pulled Qun’mi closer, capturing everything with her mouth. She went on gently yet relentlessly, listening to the song of Qun’mi’s breaths that only grew shakier and shakier. The feel of such delicate lips and a skilled tongue working so perfectly brought Qun’mi back to when they’d first had such an intimate experience. Ines always showed a confident face to everyone but her. To Qun’mi, Ines was more than a cocky young scientist. She was a woman with a giant heart, a good sense of humor, and a ton of insecurities among countless other things. She had a shy side, but she pushed that aside to stay by a l’Cie - someone she could’ve easily stereotyped to be a stoic and heartless shell of a person - as much as she could.
Qun’mi smiled as her husky breaths became deeper. She smiled as Ines sucked on her clit and made her mind go blank. She smiled as a single cracked yelp escaped her throat and her entire body trembled. Ines pressed against Qun’mi with the flat of her tongue and remained in that exact position until Qun’mi finally stopped shaking. “...” Qun’mi stared at Ines with red cheeks. Ines laughed and stood up. “Well that was quick, Captain.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Qun’mi snapped. “...Like you lasted any longer.” “I’m teasing,” Ines said. “Hm, maybe we should use a stopwatch next time.” “Tch.” Qun’mi shook her head. “Anyway, what do you say we get our clothes in order and go grab some lunch or dinner or whatever?” Ines’ eyes lit up. “Uh, yeah! Did you have anything specific in mind?” “Hmmm,” Qun’mi said. “Well, let’s put it this way. I know what I want for dessert.”
Qun’mi/Captain Ines - nightly text confessions (Writer’s block is hard, but I’m still trying. Something for @comeonlight :3) Based on this prompt. AO3
A low chuckle ripped Qun'mi out of her sleep. It was barely audible and more like a snort than anything else, but being quite the light sleeper, it was enough for her to shake her out of her sleep. Her sight was blurry and really, she didn’t see much in the vast darkness of the room. A faint light came from the other side of the bed, blocked by the familiar body on her side – it was just enough not to hurt in her eyes. The moon shone a bit through the curtains of the window, watching over the two women lying comfortably together in their bed, but the moonlight didn’t help Qun'mi much to let her see anything completely.

eheheh... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Forgetting
The sound of rain stirred Qun’mi from her trance. She’d been somewhere between sleep and consciousness, her mind utterly blank. She didn’t want to think about anything. At this point, all she wanted was to sleep and never wake up. But simply dozing off proved to be very, very difficult. L’Cie didn’t need to sleep. Why should they even have the ability to do so? That was how Qun’mi had tried to rationalize it, anyway. In truth, she’d been able to sleep quite often before the incident that had landed her in this position. Before activating that bomb, before saying goodbye to the woman she loved, before invading Rubrum’s capital…it seemed so long ago now.
How long had it been exactly? A few weeks? Months? It didn’t matter. She was already dead. Her now numb Crystal-powered body just had to catch up with her state of mind. “There’s nothing here…” Lorica, its inhabitants, and all of its physical history had been reduced to a barren wasteland by Qun’mi’s own hand. Maybe she deserved this fate of being fused to the terrain, cursed to die alone. “This sucks…”
The rain came down harder, washing some of the dust off of Qun’mi’s uniform. Of course, there was plenty of dirt caked on there that wouldn’t come off so easily. Qun’mi lifted her free arm and slowly wiggled her stiff fingers. “So this is it, huh? I wonder…” Beneath her mask, she smiled bitterly. “Of course not. You’re too stubborn to forget me.” Right now, she guessed, Ines was doing her best to hold up a calm façade as she worked to bring glory to the Militesi Empire. And then sooner or later, she’d snap and seek vengeance. “I told you not to do anything stupid. But I bet right now just the thought of me is…”
Qun’mi sighed. “Listen to me, thinking out loud. Hell, my own voice is better than none.” Lightning flashed across the sky, accompanied by a loud crackle. “It’s tearing you apart. I really am sorry for that. I’m sorry you met me. Honestly, you would’ve been a lot better off if we’d never crossed paths. Then I go and put all my responsibilities on you. Talk about a shitty person.” She took a deep breath in an attempt to ease a sudden, strange feeling of anxiety. “I’m really selfish. Even here I’m thinking how I don’t have to worry about my work going to waste because I know I can count on…” As quickly as it had come, the unsettling feeling vanished. “On…what was I talking a- Oh. So that’s how it is. Hmph, figures.”
Qun’mi/Captain Ines - Patience (Coughs, Rated E for explicit smut, I have no regrets. Something I wanted to write since December, finally found time.) Yoo @comeonlight welcome back :’D AO3
In Qun'mi’s book “patience” is a rare word. But that didn’t mean she can be patient from time to time. Especially to a certain someone. Because patience can be a game itself.

I was working on it for quite a while since I was too slow to finish it in one day XD
Prompt: Something Beautiful
“Hey, what’re you- Ines!” Qun’mi could complain all she want, but Ines wasn’t going to put her down. No, she was going to carry Qun’mi all the way to a place they hadn’t been in a long time. Deep in the snowy mountains of Milites was a hot spring, said to be heated by the energy left from a centuries-old clash between l’Cie. However it was formed, the water didn’t contain any harmful substances, and as a bonus the location provided a perfect view of the sky. There was supposed to be a meteor shower that night. Qun’mi probably didn’t know about it, though. Work distracted her from most things nowadays, but Ines was determined to share this night with her.
As Ines approached a familiar mountain with Qun’mi in her arms, Qun’mi’s eyes widened. “Ohhh…we’re going there. Wanna just teleport?” “Nope,” Ines giggled. “I wanna take a romantic walk through the snow first.” “A romantic walk in this snow at night will get you frostbite,” Qun’mi said flatly. “Besides, how long do you think you can keep carrying me?” Ines giggled again, and Qun’mi shook her head. In the blink of an eye, the two were at the edge of the steaming water under the stars.
“Phew,” Ines huffed, setting Qun’mi on her feet. “I’m glad you can see straight through me.” She laughed, prompting Qun’mi to do the same. Ines’ joy was contagious, and Qun’mi always found herself smiling and laughing with her. She was grateful for that. Happy times were scarce now. This opportunity to be with her beloved was one to savor. “Shall we?” Ines asked, unzipping her coat. Qun’mi began to undress as well. “We shall.”
The water was perfect – hot, but not too hot. A little hotter than Ines’ ideal shower temperature. Ines still vividly remembered Qun’mi throwing a fit about their water bill when they first moved in together – only to learn that their apartment and all related fees were taken care of by the...well, some military-related thing. The details were iffy, but they didn’t have to pay a gil.
“What’s so funny?” Qun’mi asked in response to Ines’ grin. Ines looked up to the sky. “Hmm, just remembering when you freaked out about our nonexistent water bill.” “Heh.” Qun’mi followed her gaze. “That of all things? Seems like ages ago.” A light shot across the sky and then faded. “You see that?” “Yep,” Ines said. “You have even less time to pay attention to the sky than I do. But I wanted to show you something beautiful. It’s not like Milites is the prettiest nation in Orience.” A few more small lights shot across the sky, fading among the stars. “There’s you,” Qun’mi said. “…Pretty damn beautiful, if I say so myself.”
Ines moved closer to Qun’mi in order to entwine their fingers below the water’s surface. “Hey, you’re blushing,” she teased. Blatantly ignoring the statement, Qun’mi said, “I read some stuff a while back. Apparently wishing on shooting stars is a thing.” A bright streak of light shot all the way across the sky. “Yep,” Ines said. “It’s mostly in Concordia I think…You gonna make a wish?” Qun’mi flashed a grin. “Already did.” Ines rested her head on Qun’mi’s shoulder. “And you’re gonna keep it a secret from me, right?” “Uh-huh.” “Then I guess I’ll keep mine a secret too. Though, it’s going to be pretty obvious soon.” Their conversation stopped for a good few minutes during which they watched the spectacle in the sky, and then Ines spoke again.
“Hey, if I were to ask you a hypothetical yes-or-no question, what would your hypothetical answer be?”
“Well, hypothetically, that would depend on the question.”
“Hypothetically, it would.”
“But, to answer your non-hypothetical question, I’ll quit using hypotheticals and say…hell yes.”
Prompt: No One Is Watching
“How’s it coming?” Qun’mi regularly checked the progress of the larger projects, but it was always without warning. She’d caught workers slacking off multiple times, granted that it was usually late in the evening, not long before their shifts ended. And then there was Ines. She was always on task, so committed to her work, nearly always staying extra hours at the lab and sometimes spending the night there. It was unhealthy for a human, but definitely admirable.
“Ahead of schedule, Captain. I’m revising the plans for tomorrow’s…” She stopped speaking when she felt Qun’mi’s hands on her shoulders. “Cool it with the formalities. No one’s watching.” She was right. It was late – how late, Ines didn’t know, but she was all but certain that is was past midnight. And Qun’mi was right. At this time, their place of work was nearly deserted, save for the guards who roamed the halls and the perimeter.
Ines leaned back in her seat and relaxed her shoulders as Qun’mi began to massage them. “You’re pushing yourself too hard.” “Says the one who never sleeps,” Ines retorted. She took a deep breath and exhaled, attempting to release the day’s stress. “I don’t need sleep anymore,” Qun’mi reminded her. “You, on the other hand–” “You need to come home.” Ines’ shoulders stiffened for a moment and then relaxed again. “I mean, I’d like it if you came home…please.”
Qun’mi returned her hands to her sides and took a quick look around. “Well, you certainly weren’t kidding when you said things were ahead of schedule. You can probably take a day off. Maybe two.” Ines stayed quiet, waiting for her request to be addressed. “…Like I said, no one’s watching. And we’ve still got time, plus I hate seeing you sad.” She placed her hands on Ines’ shoulders again. “So yeah, let’s get out of here. I can afford to be home for the night…or morning, whatever it is.” “You sure?” Ines asked, her tone of voice tinged with hope but still lacking the cheer Qun’mi’s presence normally incited. “What do you take me for?” Qun’mi asked. At those words, a smile came to Ines’ face and the pair disappeared from the Steelworks in a flash of light.
Prompt: Protective
“Yo, Ines, I got you a-” Qun’mi stopped in her tracks as she took in the sight of Qator watching Ines with a blank expression. Ines sniffled, a few teardrops rolling down her cheeks. Qun’mi’s eyes lit up as she locked her gaze on Qator. “What the hell did you do?” She walked forward and gripped Qator’s neck, raising her hand high enough to lift him off the ground just slightly. “Huh, Bashtar?!” Qator coughed, and Qun’mi threw him to the ground so that he could catch his breath.
“Let me clear this up quickly,” Qator said, standing straightening up his uniform. “I informed Ines that she will moved from working on Vajra to assisting you with Dáinsleif.” The glow in Qun’mi’s eyes faded. “…Heh? So…” “I’ll take my leave now,” Qator said. “Try not to waste time, you two. We have deadlines.”
Ignoring Qator’s words, Qun’mi turned and rested a hand on Ines’ shoulder. “Happy tears then?” With another sniffle, Ines nodded and then threw her arms around Qun’mi. “It’s a pleasure to work with you!” Sighing, Qun’mi gave Ines a pat on the head. “Don’t scare me like that. I could’ve killed the man. And that wouldn’t go over so well with Cid…” Ines simply giggled. Qun’mi sighed once more. Why Ines was attached to her, she might never know, but she was thankful for it.
