THE GREAT LIL TRAUMA BOY INCIDENT (( STOP SUPPORTING O96O ))
Last year I had been sent an email from YouTube regarding a copyright strike on Lil trauma boy which I assumed to be one based on sample usage but turned out to be someone who had reuploaded my work under their name without prior contact or consent from me. Ever since then I’ve had an active back and forth with YouTube, Spotify and my distributor with proof of the work being mine in a full on document. As predicted none of them cared enough to look into my document and had completely swept me away, leaving me to never be able to upload the entirely of gabber due to them having copyright on my work.
I cannot express to everyone enough how much that entire scenario had impacted me, since I’m not a big artist nor did I ever think I’d be in a scenario like this, but due to the sudden rise in popularity the song had I guess it just caught on.
I wasn’t the only target here. They also uploaded the following without permission:
- lesbian vampire furries by Gabbra Kadabra (Foxi Boxi)
- Dr. Loonylegs gets E.Coli and dies by 4Lung
- Kawaii loli attack by nasty maid grinder
As far as im aware and from what I’ve been told NOBODY here has given consent to this person. They’re profiting off of our work.
Ive made it very clear that I’m all for making my work accessible for people but I’ve made it very clear around that time that I didn’t want people to post my work on Spotify. I’m fine with people reuploading my work on YouTube with credit, but this was done behind my back without my permission on a platform I didn’t want to be on at the time.
All I’m asking you people for is to NOT STREAM ANYTHING THEY PUT OUT and to REMOVE IT FROM YOUR PLAYLIST. You’re giving someone who stole work money that was supposed to go to small artists. I know damn well how much this person is making off of Spotify and YouTube music and it just upsets me that this is happening. I don’t even give a single fuck about the money but I DONT agree with someone STEALING AND PROFITING OFF OF MY WORK, SAME FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE THEY STOLE FROM. This person has around 60K listeners that they shouldn’t even have. Give that to the actual artists they stole from. If you want to listen to a certain song so bad PLEASE put it in your LOCAL FILES. It’ll be accessible to you only and also don’t give money to someone who doesn’t deserve it.
At the end of the day I want people to not take my shit for granted. While I may be very laid back with a lot of things regarding my work, this is shit you should never pull on me.
I don’t care if I’m being pathetic by bringing this back up but I NEED PEOPLE TO BE AWARE. Please don’t give this person any more attention. Remove the songs, add them in your local files and even you want report them for plagiarism. If you care about us artists please do something about it.
