But do not ask the price I paid I must live with my quiet rage Tame the ghosts in my head That run wild and wish me dead Should you shake my ash to the wind Lord forget all of my sins Oh let me die where I lie ‘Neath the curse of my lovers’ eyes Lover’s Eyes by Mumford and Sons requested by @historyfreak91 Tags: @aardvark-crowley @murdered-by-fandoms I’ve always loved this song so thank you so so much for requesting it. I’ve juggled with a lot of concepts before I settled on this one: in which Aziraphale struggles to come into terms with his recent realization of his feelings for Crowley, and how a million things are going through his mind including heaven and hell, and if this will ever work or if he should just let it die. I happened to be listening to Hozier when I opened tumblr and saw this on my dash, thus I was primed for this to hit me hard in the feels. This is a stunningly constructed, emotive image–especially the moody colors. I’m pleased to see it pop up in my feed again.
I love how Aziraphale is struck, and seems to be considering his own reflection more that Crowley’s figure. I’d like to imagine that in this moment of love realization after the church rescue, Aziraphale is more surprised by himself than by Crowley. (That night, Crowley is the same as he ever is, but everything is cast in a new light.)
