So I thought I'd make one of those master-posts. I didn't include everything, just the big ones and my favourite one-shot. I'll probably add more once I have something to post again. Anyway I'm IneffableRainstorm on ao3!

Sweeter than Fiction Crowley choked out a string of unintelligible sounds as he stared at the pile of books on the desk. His mind was in freefall, caught between disbelief and horror. The angel read trashy romance novels. And not just any trashy romance novels. Each and every piece of cheesy cover art was terribly familiar. They were his. Oh Satan, they were all his.  (E, 125k words, 35/35, human AU, slow burn, skippable smut)

A New Opportunity Crowley walked up to the first angel he saw. “Oh, hi,” he said ever so sweetly, fake smile firmly in place. “So sorry to bother you. Would you be a dear and direct me to the Supreme Archangel’s office? It’s my first day, you know. And I seem to have gotten a tad lost, I’m afraid.” (E, 64k words, 24/24, post S2 canon-compliant)

The (True) Christmas Story Aziraphale caught motion in his peripheral vision. He turned to see Crawly peeking out from the far end of the room, partly obscured by the wall that cloistered off the stable. The demon waved frantically and pointed to where the animals rested out of sight. Aziraphale had no idea what he was trying to say. He glanced at Gabriel and back with a helpless look. S3 is bad for my mental health

That’s the conclusion I’ve come to with some time to process. There are a lot of things that bother me about it. How they never get to actually talk. How they don’t get to kiss. How they seem so angry and out of character for a lot of it. How it was all so rushed. But the real problem is what the ending made me feel. It triggered some real existential dread. Everything feels pointless. All the history. All the suffering. All the lessons learned. They are all blibbed out of existence. Mrs Sandwich will never get to go see her sister. Bee and Gabriel died somewhere off screen. There was no point in Crowley protecting the bookshop cause it’s also gone. So is the Bentley. So are they. And for what? For a new world with new people who will also suffer and then die. Now for the record I am an atheist. So I don’t believe in anything after death. But that just made it worse.

I have had a very hard year. I was sexually harassed, blackmailed, stalked. I had a full mental breakdown and developed OCD type fears. I had panic attacks all the time. I was scared of eating. Of touching my plants. Or using anything with a warning label. Of medication. It was real bad. And I painfully, painstakingly clawed myself back out. I can eat again. Mostly. but I haven’t gotten back to enjoying it. I got on medication for my ADHD and it has helped a lot, but I’ve also had to come to terms with all the years I struggled and was called lazy or uncaring. I am trans. And that is a very scary thing to be right now. Still I’ve come to a point where I have to do something. And now I’m looking at surgery as someone who a couple of months ago had a panic attack just from taking allergy medication. Sigh.

Right the point of all this oversharing is: I got through all those things (am still getting through them) by focusing on what lies on the other side. Living authentically. Being myself. Being happy. Finding joy. And good omens has been a big part of why I managed to find little bits of joy through all the hard things. The fanfic. The people I met on the way. The amazing feeling of being at TIC and meeting people who are more like me than I’ve ever had the pleasure to find in a group. It’s what gave me the courage to come out. And what made me realise I don’t have to force myself into neurotypical cis straight expectations. That it’s okay to be weird and different and that there are others I can share the joy of this show with.

Season 3 however left me feeling very differently. It left me feeling like maybe I’m wrong. That maybe in the end there is only suffering and then more suffering and then death. Nothing matters. Has ever mattered. Or will ever matter. I felt like giving up. And yes I know the idea is that they find each other in every universe. But it’s not them. I always liked that they had each other despite being on opposite sides. Against the system. An angel and a demon. But in the end they could never be together in this universe. And that makes me feel that maybe I can’t defy the odds either. That maybe I can’t be me after all. Not in this universe. I mean look at politics right now. I’m not that far off the mark, right?

Anyway what’s the conclusion from this depressing oversharing rant? I’m not going to leave this fandom. I love this fandom and all the stories and art and people. But for my own wellbeing I will have to treat season 3 as just another fanfic that I didn’t particularly like. Even if it’s one of the popular ones. Maybe I’ll talk to my friends about how I thought they were out of character. Then I’ll move on. And it’s not my business if other people enjoy it. I’m not gonna go harass the author. But I’m going to stay away from it. I have to. Because I can’t fall into that nihilistic hole of nothing again. Because I want to be happy. I want to be, at heart, an optimist.

Work is never just work, especially not around here The Ineffable Professionals Bang is officially moving into its collaborative phase! Today on the IPB discord server we revealed the Artist/Writer Matches, and to celebrate we're also unveiling something very exciting: a brand new IPBang banner created by our wonderfully chaotic side-quest artists team, led by @anixfelix and powered by a great deal of creative mischief.

The banner was built across multiple styles and hands, with each piece reflecting a different interpretation of Good Omens characters and the many, many ways they might exist in professional worlds: lawyers, pilots, doctors, diplomats, architects... and probably a few occupations the IPB Roulette Wheel invented out of spite. 😆

“Can we get on with it now?” Lucifer suddenly said. “Fuck’s sake,” Crowley muttered. “Give them time to adjust.” “Easy to say when you’re in the same room as the person you love,” Lucifer growled. “It’s been almost twenty fucking years for me!” Crowley was about to snap back when Michael said, “Is that why you want to find Jesus? You… you love him?” It was impossible to tell which half of them was speaking—the cynical former-archangel, or the baby-angel who had spent the last six months amongst people. Lucifer didn’t seem to care either way. His shoulders jerked in a kind of half-shrug as he said, “Of course I do. Why the fuck else would I bother with…” He trailed off with a deep inhale, nostrils flaring. “Yes. I love him. And I’ve tried to find him—” “You’d never be able to,” Michael interrupted. “Even if I told you the exact location where he sleeps. A demon can’t find him.” Lucifer hissed, a cross between anger and pain, but Crowley paid no attention to him. Michael had turned to him, both eyebrows subtly raised. He grinned. “But an angel could,” he said. Michael nodded. “Of course.” “He would have to know where to look, though.” Another nod. Lucifer was watching the exchange like a tennis match, hope and yearning blooming across his features. Crowley didn’t break eye contact with Michael. “Tell me,” he said, pulling his sunglasses off and setting them aside. “Have you chosen? Where do your loyalties lie, former-archangel Michael?”

Good Omens Fan Fic Friday - (6 March 2026) Category Defying Fics

I recently told a friend I'm a slutty reader. I'll read damn near anything related to Good Omens. But I have a special place in my heart for stories that can't be categorized easily. They're not really AUs or based on a trope. They're difficult to sum up in a sentence. So today's theme is me creating a category for fics that don't have one, and trying to summarize them in a few words. Wish me luck.

First up is Tethered (NR) by @mariecuriosity. Crowley wakes up in a psychiatric hospital, knowing he's a demon, but having none of his powers. Of course, the doctors and staff don't believe him. They claim he's there after attempting suicide.

This story is so twisted (and compelling) that the writer added an AMA followup for confused readers. If you like stories that cause you to doubt reality, you're in for a thrill.

Two of my all-time favorite fics are by @diminished-fish/Diminishing Returns. For this theme, I'm highlighting A Portrait in Synesthesia (M). Before the beginning, a chronicler and starmaker meet. Although their memories of each other are removed, they are drawn to each other through the ages by "a unique kind of synesthesia— the emotional state, mannerisms, and voice of one having a paired physical response (smell, taste, or color) in the other." This story is mind blowing and beautiful. Oh, and it's not like anything else.

In So Much Discounted (T) by @wanderingalicewrites, Crowley is discorporated. When Aziraphale goes to hell to find him, the creature he finds bears no resemblance to the saucy demon. He returns to Eden where he works to assemble the different aspects of Crowley into a whole. This story has some of the most insightful writing about Crowley's character.

Upon the Place Beneath (T) by 5-door Wasabi, finds our ineffable pair's Arrangement in danger when their bosses realize there's a sudden improvement in their performances. Aziraphale is particularly good at some of Crowley's temptations, and Crowley is particularly good at Aziraphale's. This story is smart and philosophical, delving into what it actually takes to tempt or encourage humans in one direction or another. I think Terry Pratchett would be proud to read what he inspired.

The Exponent of Breath (T) by @possibility-left begins with humans asking Crowley when he and Aziraphale will get married. The remainder of the one-shot has our pair at various weddings in history. The effect is very impressionistic and the stories are strung together like pearls on a necklace. It's lovely and easy to see why it was written after the end of season 2.

Many of these fics are serious and philosophical. Let's end on a lighter note. My final pick is just as odd, but it is a light crack fic. It's When Worlds Collide (T) by @somewhere-in-wales. After Armageddon't, Crowley and Aziraphale switch back on a park bench. But they find themselves on a television filming set of a show called Good Omens. And, of course, they meet the actors David Tennant and Michael Sheen, who bear an uncanny physical resemblance to our angel and demon (and an uncanny personality resemblance to their characters in Staged). It's weird and lots of fun.

The Ineffable Professionals Bang (IPB) is a Good Omens Roulette Bang for writers and artists run on the IPB Discord Server. We want to showcase Aziraphale and Crowley (or rare GO pairings) in professional settings - what if they were lawyers, doctors, architects, pilots, diplomats?

Writers! if you sign up you will be assigned three professions at random using a roulette wheel. You will be tasked with writing a fic where at least one of your main protagonists is at least one of the three professions. Fics can be canon, AU, any rating, any era, rare pairs etc. Minimum word count 1k - get creative and make it work for you! Artists! if you sign up will be able to choose your favourite three fic summaries anonymously, and then get paired up with one of these to collab with the writer and create an art between April and September. Any creative art medium, any style, NSFW is fine (in conversation with your Writer), minimum one piece!

Eligibility •This is an 18+ Bang. •All participants will be using the IPB Discord server for announcements and check-ins.

WIP Game (kinda sideways unhinged version)

Y'all, I got tagged by @the-oxrib-and-oyster in this WIP game floating around. Sadly, I'm between projects 😭😭😭 but I'm gonna participate anyway.

Rules: make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Tag as many people as you have WIPs. People can send an ask with the title(s) that most intrigues them, then you post a snippet or tell them something about it.

I’m afraid that my naming conventions aren’t particularly clever. My folders are super-organized and the WIPs either land in the “writing” folder on my desktop if I’m actively working on them, or the “ideas and snippets” folder in my primary GO Fics folder. Then, if I have a working title for a WIP, the doc is just called by that title. If not, I usually have a descriptive title so I remember what the doc is about without opening it.

Because I'm between projects, most of the following are docs that I've thrown back into the ideas folder for later consideration - the "maybe someday" WIPs that probably barely count, especially as I haven’t even looked at several of them in two years. 🤷🏻 Only the first three listed are ones I’ve played with over the last few weeks.

Resolutions: human AU romcom type thing

GBBO GO: canon crack fic crossover of GO and the Great British Baking Show

Theologians and historians disagree on when exactly Jesus, the Son of God (or to the latter, a perfectly ordinary man), was born. Both sides are sure, however, that the so-called Messiah did not come into this world on what humans know as Christmas. In truth, Jesus was born on October 21st, exactly 4000 years after earth’s creation. If anything, this is further proof that God is very fond of symbolism. And Libras.

Now, of course the humans got a lot more wrong about the “Christmas” story. One thing they were correct about, though, was how it all began: with bureaucracy.

The Third Prince

It’s here!!!!!!! Finally, after 2+ years of pondering and thinking about how this story might go, and six months of writing/editing, and the unbelievable luck of discovering the bestest person-and-artist in the world to collaborate with me, the first chapter of The Third Prince is out! This is a post-S2 canon-compliant (so far) Reverse Omens story. It’s fully written and will post weekly on Tuesdays. Summary:

Crowley never wanted to be an angel, but to stop the Second Coming, it seems he has no choice. Neither does Aziraphale, who must Fall to save the world. Now, it’s a race against time and the Metatron to protect humanity from Heaven, Hell, and the bloody Ineffable Plan.

Excerpt for Chapter 1:

“What a shame that you never paid attention in those lessons of yours,” the Voice crowed. “Well, I’ll enlighten you: Aziraphale was given a special assignment by God Herself. He’s the only angel who can blow the trumpet and sound the judgement call. He will start the Second Coming. The humans even have a name for him in some of their religions. It’s all over their lore, but I suppose you never bothered to do any reading while you lazed about in that bookshop of his, did you? Millions of years old, and yet you still approach education like an indolent child.” Not all education comes from books, Crowley wanted to spit. He swallowed the retort. “If there’s human lore about a trumpet and the end-of-days, I guarantee that Aziraphale will have read it. He reads everything he can get his hands on, has a whole collection of religious texts from throughout the ages. He’ll never willingly kick off the Second Coming for you.” “He won’t have a choice. He’ll be… ah… compelled, so to speak.”

It took me well over a year, but I've finally finished my human AU! Why did it take so long? Maybe because this story is cursed! Like seriously, I got struck down multiple ways while I wrote this. Like I went through a breakup the same week I was supposed to write a breakup chapter. And that wasn't even the worst thing. 😅

I'm baffling people with my tendency to happily stick to just one thing where "normal" people crave variation, e.g. food and music.

Tag game: "Open your playlist and share the first five songs..." Me: "What playlist? I've been listening to this one song on repeat for two months now and I'm not ready to part with it yet!"

Someone: "What are you going to have for dinner tonight?" Me: "The same (weird) combination of foods I've had for the last three years. I love it! Why?"

Apparently that's weird, but I don't give a fuck, tbh. I'll stick to what I love and what works best for me.

One curiosity I suppose is that I don’t see myself ever being just one thing in my life.

Like I have a vision board for opening and running an apothecary (growing my own herbs and selling remedies for small ailments like a little village witch, doing tarot readings in the back! Also operates as a little garden/witchcraft/folklore bookshop 💕). I want to be an EMT/paramedic before I do that so I have genuine medical knowledge as well because I think both should work together, and that’ll give me a lot more knowledge.

Also on my vision board is getting free dive certificated and being a professional mermaid! It is a real profession I’d LOVE to do! I want to also write children’s books (both picture books and Percy Jackson style series for older kids) about intersectional climate justice as well, and use the figure of the mermaid to make the message more accessible for people. Needless to say, I want to be a writer too, so this combines both things!

I also think Death Doulas are amazing and that’s something I’d be very interested in (I will not explain what they are cuz I will write waaayyyy too much, but look them up! They’re amazing!)

I want to be perhaps “too many” things in this lifetime, and none of them are exactly normal. But it’s a good thing I never gave a damn about normal 🌸

Ummmmm sth curious about me? I have really crooked fingers. Possibly due to long-term violin playing but the middle finger of my left hand is practically wavy. Like. First knuckle goes upwards. Second downwards. Third upwards again.

I find it very cool (especially when I curl my fingers as I would when I play and they appear straight and perfectly situated–it's like a magic trick), some people find it funny and others creepy.

something curious about me is that i’m hyper mobile

basically my joints are way bendier than they’re supposed to be. my elbows and knees go backwards, i can do that weird thing where you touch your fingers flat to your wrist, just a lot of things most people’s joints aren’t built to do

when i was a kid, my mom signed me up for cheerleading (because gender roles), and they really did not like me there because even straightening my arms into the little cheerleader v-shape above my head did not look how they wanted it to look 😂 i’m meant to be a snake not an athlete
