Alfa Romeo CEO denies rumours of Audi takeover in 2026
Jean-Philippe Imperato, CEO of Alfa Romeo, is pleased with his company's current relationship with Sauber, despite rumours of an Audi takeover in 2026. Stellantis currently has an official naming deal with Sauber until the end of 2025. Imperato discussed how the company is dealing with the recession and other issues.
"It's now 2022," Imperato said during Speed Week at the Austrian GP last weekend. "We are dealing with the recession and other current issues, but I plan to do this type of sponsorship every three years." I have no plans for 2026 at the moment, but we will work with Sauber in 2023 and 2024."
The CEO of Alfa Romeo then discussed their desire to collaborate with Sauber. "We have a long-term agreement, but it is reviewed on an annual basis." Yes, when it comes to working with Sauber. "And when it comes to return on investment, yes and yes again," Imperato insisted.
