thinking again about johnny and maria. I truly don't see him as an obsessive person in general, but maria was an exception because she contrasted so sharply with his entire worldview

i'm almost done with this fuckass internship! when i go back to just having classes as normal i'll try so hard to set some time aside to be here, i promise

sorry for the radio silence! I had an exam last week, and this week we started our internships (I'm studying social education so I'm interning at a school/after-school centre), so i'm so exhausted i shan't lie.

#thank u @ everyone for being so patient with me #i can't promise my activity will pick up but i can promise my interest in johnny/this blog/etc hasn't diminished #idk when my next break will be... after internships we have exams again so like fuck me you know?#i *am* enjoying the internship though! my colleagues have been very kind and i think i impressed some of the kids with my #minecraft knowledge lmfao #i also *am* exhausted every day when i get home though #my days aren't too long. only six hours. but i've been forgetting to take breaks ghsjdg maybe i'd be less tired if i remembered #anyway end of ramble. sorry for not being here idk when/if it'll change but JOHNNY IS ON MY MIND STILL

#why yes i do think he'd be into older women #only man i know of with more insane mommy issues than johnny is franco out//last tr//ials #sorry to anyone who got one of those ''@tumblr-url just returned!'' notifications and then it's this post...#i do think im correct though #and i do think so much of johnny's character can be traced directly back to how he's both got an idealized woman in his head and #one that is... definitely not idealized/perfect #and they both kinda work against the possibility of him having a healthy relationship with women bc obviously no one is ever gonna be able #to live up to that idealized image he's got in his head (no one should *have* to. but he struggles seeing other people as multi-faceted #beings because of The Way That He Is)#and like... yeah. It's all mommy issues. The Ideal Woman in his head is judith. NOT in an oedipus way just in a nancy vs judith way and he's #got very few memories of judith left but he lost her at a time where she was literally his whole world and he's got this idea of like #if he had just been raised by her everything would've been better and his life would be good and he'd be a better person #which may or may not be true. personally i think he'd still have issues but not to the extent that he does in canon #but anyhow. in his mind judith is kinda like this flawless angel that he lost and he is. in fact. still looking for her (subconsciously)#he does harbor some anger/bitterness towards her but he's fully in denial about that #and then when you add nancy into the mix the mommy issues do. in fact. just become even more insane #i think ive mentioned before that she's the source for a lot of his anger. but that doesn't mean he isn't also in denial about that #i think that on a fundamental (not fully conscious) level his emotions towards her are so confused #he's aware that she killed judith but he still loves nancy (or thinks he does) because he's been so dependant on her for almost his entire #life. for food for safety for love etc #we're always trying to survive and he had to learn to love her to survive but it obviously had consequences #and I dont think he's ever been able to get out of like. the cognitive dissonance #and i think it kinda goes both ways. nancy and johnny both rationalize and minimize each other's actions #anyway the point I was trying to get at with all of that was just that even though nancy is the source of the. Not idealized woman #he'll still excuse her actions to an extreme degree and tell himself she treats him better than she really does #but there definitely is still a sense of like... something that's missing. like genuine safety. he never feels completely at ease around #nancy and i could see him being specifically drawn to women around 5-15 years older than him kinda in search of that #(unfortunately he sabotages all his relationships though. for a variety of reasons)#i guess in a way he's looking for approval/validation?#idk no more yapping in the tags at 3am im hitting post

johnny obviously refers to nancy as his mom/mama/ma/etc., but out of the rest of the family, I think bubba is really the only one he really considers his family, and he'll refer to him as his brother

#hands is uncle hands obviously even if johnny just refers to him as hands #and in a lot of ways he really has been more like a dad to johnny #it depends on the day whether drayton gets to be considered his uncle... bc he and johnny get on each other's nerves constantly #but he doesn't treat johnny differently for not being related to the rest of the family by blood so there's that #nubbins to johnny is like... the greasy stray dog that he keeps having to chase off his property #i could see him introducing chop top (pre him getting drafted) as his cousin or something if they were out together #but yeah... bubba is his brother and he'll refer to him as such (mostly relevant for dbd verse things i guess)
