For my birthday (in August), I typically ask for a cheesecake. For my most recent birthday, however, I asked Mom if she could bake a cake for me, and to surprise me with the choice. She found a recipe in an old dessert cookbook, and when she was done, she brought the book over and had me guess which one she made.

It was a Wellesley Fudge Cake, which she chose because she knew I would see the name and think of James Wesley.
