This post basically has two points: One, I’m transferring three of my beloveds (roxanaweasley, inimadragxn, and nolxngerhiding to one blog, my multimuse blog, mxnipura). two, I’m sorry that I keep disappearing. I’m telling you this now so that if you don’t want to read on, you get the two main points.

So, it’s been a crazy year. I’m finally in a place where I would consider myself content and healthy, which is really big news for me. As to avoid stressing myself to death, I’ve taken a year off schooling to focus on my mental health and my sister’s wedding, seeing as I am her maid of honor.

Due to the fact that I still want rping to be enjoyable, I’ve decided to stick to only keeping up with one blog. Seeing as mxnipura was already multimuse and the characters I’ve had for the longest (with the exception of Roxanne, who I had brought back on a different blog) I didn’t want to ditch all of them. Still, I adore you lot, and these three Harry Potter characters are my babies, and I really don’t want to give them up.

So, instead, I decided I’d transfer them to my multimuse and just hope that my partners will follow me over there. I get that some people don’t like multimuse blogs, so if you don’t want to follow me over there, I get it, but you know my writing style and if you enjoy writing with me, please don’t let this little change get in the way. Okay, so I really am sorry for always disappearing, this transfer is going to be good for me and the characters, because I’ll be on more and more dedicated now that it’ll only be one blog.

sorry I disappeared for a little while my lovelies. My laptop had a little problem, so I didn’t have her and it was obnoxious on my mom’s computer, because I didn’t have any of my things or xkit, and our laptops are so different that it just felt weird, but I’m back now.

 ”Oh sh-shut up.” Tonks giggled and laid there against his lovers. “But y-yeah…you made…you made that night the best night of my life and…I knew…I knew we would have many more to come….you changed the course of both of our lives that night…that day….then again I always figured even before that night that…everything would change with you in my hands.” 

 The memories came so fast. Like a river with each drop only making it stronger. The river in his head flowing…the vision clear…of that night.

A young pink haired boy was just starting to pull off his Hufflepuff robes for the night. It was Friday so that meant no more school for a few days, that alone brought him comfort. With a squeak the greened eyes youngster turned around to see a sudden fallen Gryffindor at the side of his bed and rolling his eyes he lent over his bunk to smirk down at his roommate. 

 ”Charlie? Bloody Hell, why are you on the ground mate?”

"I was gonna spook you...and then I fell asleep...and then I just fell," he shrugged. Charlie was bored, and no one had been paying enough attention to him, which meant he had to come bug Tonks, maybe even trick him into breaking a few rules, because that was his favorite thing. Okay, his second favorite thing, but he wasn't going to force Tonks to do anything he didn't want to, so second best was fine for now. "Don't judge me Phy, this is not th'most compromising position you've found me in," he nodded, not even trying to move. "Just go with it babe."

This is Duolingo, a language-learning website/app that deserves some serious recognition. It offers over 10 languages for English speakers, as well as courses for non-English speakers around the world, and they’re in the process of adding more. 

But wait, I don’t want to do any more schoolwork! Not to worry little one, Duolingo is actually more like a game. You can compete with friends, and earn “lingots” (which are basically Duolingo money) to buy power-ups, extra activities, and bonus skills - like Flirting.

I’m already taking a language, what do I need this for? 

It’s not really a secret that most school language courses (in America, anyway) suck and only teach you to speak the language at about a third grader’s level. Which is why Duolingo is so freaking awesome.

Teachers can’t give every student individualized attention, but Duolingo can. If you’re not learning the way you want to or as much as you want to in the classroom, Duolingo is a really great resource. It’s easy, tailored to you, and really effective.

Duolingo tracks your progress and reminds you when you haven’t studied for a while or need a refresher on something. Already semi-fluent in a language? No problem, just take a shortcut to more advanced subjects or test out of the lesson. 

The lessons start with the basics (he, she, hello, thank you, etc) and move up to harder stuff. Duolingo focuses on vocabulary first, so you can learn the language and then the grammar that goes with it - much simpler than the system most schools use. It also tracks the number of words you’ve learned and how well you know them.

And you don’t even have to write out the flashcards!

Duolingo is perfect for reviewing everything you forgot over the summer or giving you the extra help you need. And if you’re trying to learn a language on your own, it’s fantastic - you don’t have to create your own lessons. Whether you’re trying to learn your second, third, or fifth language, I seriously recommend Duolingo.

Okay, what else?

Duolingo also has discussion boards, where you can ask for help with a hard lesson, make new friends, watch for updates, and share your achievements.

Even better is the Immersion feature. It won’t send you to Spain or France, but it’s pretty awesome. Duolingo takes real articles from the internet, which users translate. You can translate articles from your native language into the language you’re learning or vice versa, which gives you more experience and makes the Internet more universal.

You can suggest new languages and track Duolingo’s progress in creating new courses. Bilinguals (older than 13) can help to create these courses. Duolingo has a long list of courses that can be contributed to, like Punjabi, Hebrew, and Vietnamese. Oh, and Dothraki, Klingon, Sindarin, and Esperanto.

And the best part? IT’S COMPLETELY FREE.
