Question for those who do Canicross/Bikejoring...

Are there any weight ratio rules or suggestions in the sport? I've been searching and can't find anything.

There are no hard and fast weight ratios for canicross or bike, it all depends on the dog and their willingness to pull.

The only weight consideration I’d give any real thought is being ‘over dogged’ for canicross. A large, strong dog (or sometimes even two medium dogs) and smaller or steadier runner can have a real impact on knees and lower back, even with the right equipment and running on a good surface.

Bikejor will require a bit more pedalling for a wee dog as you won’t get as much assistance, but nothing to stop them from going for it.

There is no lower limit though— back when I was still coaching and racing we would get all kinds of small but mighty racers in canicross and bikejor. 💪
