Full size here. This is a sort of blanket response to the questions I get this time every year about what various Lackadaisy characters would wear for Halloween.
I thought of dressing them up as early 20th Century icons and people of historical relevance - you know, something vaguely intellectual - but then I got distracted by the amazing, abominable craft-work concoctions pictured up top. Well, I couldn’t not draw that.
(The topmost images are mostly from Dennison’s Bogie Books of the 1920s. They’re a hoot.) Happy Halloween, everyone!

It’s “I want desperately to be able to hang out with people but I hate the feeling of sheer panic and fear I get around them so I don’t/ can’t and it eats away at me every day so I end up just staying home and say I’m sleeping or watching something”

Generally, I am catastrophically slow at art, so instead of posting anything that’s actually kind of cool, these are a few things from my old sketchbook. As a result, I am trying to refrain from ripping them apart (metaphorically and also perhaps a little bit literally). I… did not draw for a very long time. Years, in fact. I’m still getting back into the swing of things.

tip 1:
make sure you flip your canvas horizontally often as you paint/drawto check for mistakes. brains are magical— they fill in the gaps to make things seem cohesive especially in human faces. but that basically just means you might not see something other people will.

I actually have a screenshot of this saved and I’m going to print it out soon and fold it up and always keep it in my wallet because sometimes I just really need a reminder that I need to live, because I have a big adventure waiting for me. And a whole lot of running left to do.
