“I cling to everything - CDs that skip, rings that turn my fingers green, the dead ends of my hair, old love notes that turn my stomach over and over. And I’m not proud but there are still boxes under my bed. And I’m not proud but my closet is still running out of space. And nostalgia is a fucking waste of time but my heart is full with it. Tell me I won’t hold this forever. Tell me there will be a day where I let gloriously go.”
— Fortesa Latifi - Hold This
“My tongue ruins all the things that it cannot taste.”
— 10 for the breathless
“On nights like tonight I open the curtains wide to greet the midnight moon. When the wind howls, I harmonize. I lean into it with a careless swoon. I befriend the things that used to haunt me.”
—
“At the trial of God, we will ask: why did you allow all this? / And the answer will be an echo: why did you allow all this?”
— Ilya Kaminsky, from “A City Like a Guillotine Shivers on Its Way to the Neck,” Deaf Republic
But there is something that happens when you are told you are Too Much You begin to ask everyone, how small would you like me?

Love Enough to Love
We love to hate we love to forget and do oh so many things we know we’ll soon enough regret We love that race we love the push and shove yet I’ll wonder to my dying day will we ever love enough to love
REGROWTH
I am sorry for the way the days have gone heavy for the way I have let myself put on a weight that pulled me down from the sky over & over & over again a continuous rain for these days where names are not enough// but spring is here a season I have always called my own and a blooming has taken me by surprise an opening to rediscover all that once made me happy but I let fall away with the sky with the constant rain with all the time I feel I am losing// teach me to be myself again to sign everything with my full name and hold no shame// remember me as I was as I am trying to be once again- beautiful & inspiring & full of life, words, light, more words// I don’t know where the poetry went, but here I am spread bare like a new bloom willing to find it again
- REGROWTH, Olivia Larson // 3/18/2019
how do you fall out of love?
is it like climbing out of a crater with a rope
or like inching your way through your favourite dessert
when your stomach’s ready to burst?
does it feel like crawling in a pungent sewer
craving to see the light of day and the smell
of freshly mown grass
or like hesitantly pressing pause on your
favourite love song because you
simply don’t feel it anymore?
does falling out of love feel like
seeing clearly again, as if the fog has
suddenly dissipated, uncovering cruel reality
or does it feel like drowning in the same sea
you would once float endlessly in?
does it feel like swallowing ice cubes and
feeling comfortably numb
or falling to the ground in the middle of a marathon,
heart racing, lungs burning,
realizing you’re not meant for the long run?
do you simply wake up one morning,
read the newspaper
and decide to turn off the love switch
or does it take incessant effort
like maintaining a new year’s resolution
or breaking a bad habit?
because you seem to have
mastered the very skill
while i lie here, shackled to your love
wondering,
were you even really in love
if you can simply fall out of it?
.
.
// once upon a time i was falling in love, now i’m only falling apart. nothing to say, total eclipse of the heart //
I’ve fallen in love with The way that leaves tumble The music of thunderstorms How the earth rumbles
With infinite Space’s Ocean of lights Twinkling through ribbons of smoke After late nights
With the strange silence that follows 12 am trains With careless memories Of dancing as it rains.
i thought i was in love with you but what it was was just another form of self-harm
People come and go and people stay and leave, just like people tell the truth and people make believe.
“A watched poet never writes.”
— misquoted proverbs by r.p.
Somewhere in the blue 🌎
what to do on valentine’s day
look into the mirror
to tell yourself
“i love you“
and mean it
then take a hot bubble bath
rose scented
take care of yourself
because the love that counts most
is the love you give yourself

Lemon Tree
You sit on my balcony and stare at me
My wonderful exotic lemon tree -
I dug up your roots and took you from the sun
Only to put you in a pot where you would surely rot -
But I liked the way you made me feel
The colour of your shade, leaves rustling in the breeze -
I thought that you could shield me from the cold
But you wilted and shrivelled under my icy glare -
Why did I steal your home just to leave you out there?
I wish I could put you back where you belong
Forgive me, my beautiful lemon tree -
I know I was wrong.
