"Still a major no fucking thank you for me," he muttered, shaking his head at the mere idea. "Ya know what, go for it. I'm tired of married, closeted men. The thrill there wore off like two years ago."
"That's fair." Lux was clearly amused. "You aren't wrong, it does get tedious and tiresome dancing around the whole you're married it's wrong thing. I get that's the turn on for them but I don't really care. Monogamy is whatever. I just want fun."
"Uh, no, not exactly. Ichor is poisonous to mortals, but for other immortals, it can be...addictive?" He winced as he said it, knowing this was only going to cause more concern. It had been a few years now though, things were going well, he was happy. He wanted Howell to meet his parents at the very least, to not hide the person who meant the most to him. Which was why this whole thing had his nerves frayed beyond belief. "Absolutely the fuck not. One overbearing adult is more than enough. I'm just trying to introduce him to parents, not everyone else."
"Uh, yeah, I'm aware. Reed says even Finn gets a little drunk on it." And that was from someone who shared a bloodline so Izzy could only imagine what it was like for someone who didn't already have their own traces of ichor running through their system. So, yes, he was concerned but he was also aware that if he pressed too hard Fulton wouldn't tell him anything else and he wanted to be trusted. To be friends. "It's under control?" He asked, wanting to trust the other. "Please, Dimitri and Cree would leave and let you use their place. They aren't monsters. Dimitri might want to know all about it afterward but that's a given. He is who he is. And your brother is a pretty reasonable guy. It's something to consider."
"You gave him something to look forward to, a light he didn't have before." She wasn't sure how much Izzy knew; hell, she knew there were things Dre had never told her, but she did know that he made her brother happy. "You're important to him too."
The color that flooded Izzy's face was unexpected even to him. He hadn't realized how much Jules approval, even if it wasn't explicitly stated, meant to him. Dre and his siblings were a unit, Izzy knew that, and they would likely always protect one another. Letting him in, telling him he was important, felt amazing. "I haven't told him yet," he started, letting out a nervous breath. "I think I'm in love with him. No, I definitely am."
"I have plenty of fun, but I don't go around advertising it to the siblings of the people I fuck." He stared, unamused. "Being my brother's plaything will not stop me from snapping your neck."
"I didn't expect that it would." Lux kept his tone even, mimicking the lack of amusement. He was cavalier to a fault sometimes but even he wasn't stupid enough to poke the bear. "You're just loud. You have loud thoughts. I'm surely not the only one who can hear them."
One hand wrapped around Lux's throat, gentle but firm. It had been a long while since Deimos has let his guard down at all and, after dealing with his parents more than he liked, he needed this kind of distraction. So I've noticed. His free hand moved to the other's hip, pulling him closer still. The fact that either one of them were wearing any clothing was annoying but he didn't want to move away long enough to fix that issue. At least not yet.
A pleased sound left Lux as that hand wrapped around his throat. He leaned into the hold, showing his approval. Right now he didn't care that his sister was supposed to be picking him up. Lindy would get bored waiting, text him and tell him to fuck off. It wasn't a concern. Not when Deimos was pulling him closer, when their bodies were slotted together like that. Lux was always seeking out physical pleasure so why would he abandon it when it was being given to him so freely? His own hands continued to roam Deimos' body, he'd undone the other's pants but gotten no further than that. The other could lead, Lux would happily give up control. Yours to taste. For now.
"Yeah, I know," she agrees that their ability to separate personal feelings from work, for the most part. "Well except for that one time in the your trailer," she couldn't stop her lips from smirking. There have been times where they've gotten caught up, but that was in the beginning and in the privacy of his home or his trailer. Things have been a whole lot better since Brenda was fired, she actually feels like she can breath, or walk with the team confidently instead of cowling or trying to be invisible all day. "No we can't," she groaned before he presented a plan. It was so appealing, so much so she whined leaning into him. "There are things we have to do," she said softly, "You have an audition-tape to submit, I have to get back to a few sponsors. Also, I don't want the team thinking I can skip a day of work because I'm dating the boss." She had to push through, "I don't want them forming a different opinion of me and I think I need a bigger distraction," She pulled him close, "I don't think bedroom activities all day is healthy." she smirked as she leaned in to reconnect their lips. After a thought, she pulled away, "Maybe we can delay your mom? I want to see her, but, will she be mad at the statement?"
Kade couldn't stop the smirk from spreading across his face. Okay, so they kept work at work most of the time but it wasn't his fault there were often lulls in his day and Chloe was right there looking gorgeous all the time. "You're probably right," he whined, pushing a kiss to her cheek. They needed to remain professional through this. Keep working, fulfill their obligations. That way no one had any reason to question Chloe's commitment to her job. "Mm. Okay. So we work. Show everyone we're taking this in stride but it's not effecting our jobs." Returning her kiss, Kade kept his arms around her. A distraction was necessary but she was right in that they still needed to stay connected to their reality. They couldn't just escape and pretend they didn't have responsibilities. "Yeah, I'll call her and explain. She'll understand. And no, she won't be mad. She'll probably be relieved. I'm a grown man and I'm doing things for myself instead of letting everyone else take care of the problems I create. Not that this is a problem. You are the opposite of a problem. My biggest blessing. But that I'm taking care of it myself is a good thing, I promise."
"I know you didn't and I didn't want to be right, Beau." They hated this, hated that they had been right and their brother was suffering for it. They almost wished they could go back and not ask their grandmother to adjust the wards, but it was also better it had happened this way, where Beau was safe and physically unscathed.
"I know you did," they soothed, fingers running through his hair gently. "Come on, let's get you inside and settled before anyone else comes out, okay?"
Emery had done everything right. They voiced their concern, tried to show Beau what he wasn't seeing and when he refused they made sure he was safe. This could have went wrong a thousand ways but because of his sibling he was unharmed. He would replay Derek's hesitation in his head later on a loop but there was still a gun, it was still pointed at him.
Giving a weak nod, Beau agreed and picked himself up. He didn't need anyone else rushing out and doing something stupid. Despite it all, he didn't want anyone to hurt Derek either. "Who is inside? Fiero? Darcy?" He wanted to know who he would be facing, as some would be more understanding than others.

Hi. I’ve had electricity for like the last thirty minutes. No good very bad storm rolled in last night and said fuck all y’all.
"Pervert," Theo teased, wide grin on his face. He liked this part so much. Joking around, being himself, hearing Hayden laugh. It was definitely a highlight to the time they spent together. This was also probably the part that made his heart hurt the most when he was alone. How could they share such moments and Hayden still just want this to be casual? Right now wasn't the time to dwell on it though.
"She is missing out. Of course, I did not know this was something one had to watch out for until I met Alyona. So, I suppose, it is not so common and maybe would get someone in trouble." He rolled one shoulder in a shrug before kissing Hayden's cheek again and snuggling in closer. "Yes, and you like it. Do not tell lies."
"I don't hear you complaining," he shot back, not missing a beat. "Pretty sure you were moaning my name and marking me up instead." He wished every part of it were this easy. If it was, then maybe, just maybe, he wouldn't be so goddamn terrified the second things shifted and Theo said something emotionally driven.
"I think I would kill Kham if she tried to wake me up that way now. I like my sleep." Plus, Kham just wasn't that kind of person. At least, not when it came to him. "Mmmm, what makes you think that?" he asked, playing coy as he relaxed into that warmth and comfort.
“I would never complain.” Theo laughed and was soon nodding in agreement with the actions Hayden said he performed. “Yes, I was very much doing those things. Is what I signed up for. And you enjoy it all. I know because I can see you glow.” He very rarely enjoyed that gift until it came to people like Hayden and Alyona whose life aura was so vivid it leapt off their skin.
“You are so cozy when you are asleep. Very warm. Cuddly.” Things that absolutely gave Theo life. He could stay in bed all day with Hayden just to nap and cuddle but that wasn’t something he’d share in fear of it being too intimate of a confession. “I suppose your sister understands you must let sleeping foxes lie.” He nuzzled against Hayden, lips brushing the skin just under his ear. “I just know. Even when I can’t see. You make it easy.”
"No, but it shows on skin. How am I to hold your hand?" Theo kept his hand extended, palm turned up, patiently waiting for Hayden to accept his help. It wasn't something he was going to force but he would definitely wait being accepting defeat.
"I do not think this is true," he teased lightly but made a note to casually leave something behind even if this time was different to the last. "It is okay to not trust me," the explanation came quietly. "If that is what makes you feel safest, I understand. But I would still like to know you."
He kept his back to Theo, clutching the hand tighter to his chest until the muscles in his arms ached from it. He wanted touch, needed it, but he was too terrified to ask for it. "It's fine..."
"It's just a shirt," he mumbled, having the irrational urge to reach for it and cling to it like he had done for days prior. The quietness of Theo's words, the sincerity, had Hayden sniffling and doing his best to hide the fact that he was crying.
Theo waited just a few moments longer before moving the first aid supplies out of his way and scooting just a bit closer. “If you change your mind I will still clean it.” It would likely heal before Hayden gave in but the offer stood. A careful hand reached out to touch the other’s shoulder instead, moving down his bicep as he considered his next move.
“It would look good on you,” he responded softly, finally taking the leap to shift his body so he could curl up next to Hayden. A strong arm wrapped around him and soon Theo was pressing the softest of kisses to the back of his neck. Normally he would have asked permission first but he had a feeling Hayden wouldn’t have given him a real answer up front. “Is this okay?”
All my nephew wants for his 5th birthday is shoes with laces he can tie. Why? No clue. But you know what? They do not fuckin make shoes in his size with actual laces.
