i'm taking a break from writing for a little while. i've been upset because two AUs i was passionate about writing have already been don't and i don't think anyone cares about them that much

it's probably selfish but i've been upset about it and i just need a little break from that.

I wanted to write a royal AU, you've got passerine. wanted a Detective Wilbur, Q, and Tommy au, you've got a Detective Quackity Webtoon. wanted to write one where they're all with unique abilities, you have TCFSV. they're all extremely popular too.

the dsmp community is pretty dead and nobody reads or likes my stuff anyway.

writing sovereign used so important to me but looking at it, I feel like it’s just a worse version of passerine and I can’t compete with that. I had sos many ideas and to be honest I’m not sure if I’ll continue it. It’s taking a heavy heart to say that too.

doubt anyone really cares about this message but yeah until i can find something to write about i won't be posting as much.

I wasn't annoyed by you advertising your fic, I was just sad to see you putting your work down. It is always sad to see writers undermine their work. If you love what you do, pitch it! Tell people it's the best thing ever and don't preface it with warning for disappointment. Think of it like this, there are multimillion dollar companies out there advertising things that actually kill us like they are the next wonder of the world. Take some of their audacity for the thing you made for fun that isn't harming anyone and sing its praises.

You can just leave in the note that this is your first fic and you're good. Putting your work down ain't gonna get people to read it. Also for better visibility you could cross post it on a fanfic platform. Ideally AO3, since fics on Tumblr get easily overlooked.
