I'll be wearing one of my rainbow brooches to work today in support of #Pride2017 I hope everyone has a fantastic, safe, empowering, fun day at the various marches taking place worldwide. I remember going to London when I was 10, and seeing my first Pride March. I was amazed at all of the colours, and the music, and the huge numbers of people involved. Back then, I didn't know what LGBTQ meant. Afterwards, my parents explained to my brothers and I what the march was for. It's great to see how much has changed in the last 20 years. How many advances have happened. How many people now feel safer coming out. But, as a community, as a nation, as a world filled with people, we can strive to do more for our LGBTQ counterparts. As a straight woman, I have no idea what it is truly like. But, I can show my support for my friends, my townspeople, my country. You do you, and be proud. After all, love is love, no matter what form it takes. And really, isn't that the most important thing?
