When I was little I didn't know that smooth pinecones and spikey pinecones were one and the same so I brought the smoothest and most perfect pinecone I could find home and put it on top of the fireplace. HOOOOOOLY istfg those are portals to the seed dimension, I am still finding seeds in that carpet, which is also how I learnt pine seeds are winged.

Egg-eating snakes do break the eggs! In fact, they actually have special sharp protrusions along the bottom of their vertebrae that they drive into the egg to crack it! Very cool very neat

since the 3ds/2ds is experiencing a revival with how custom firmware is more accessible than ever can we just like. make a collective vow to bring back streetpass in 2024. everybody go outside NOW

I've had my sweet little 3DS since the original launch. I carried it everywhere, and still sometimes do. I had a streetpass list so incredibly long. Istg I would give so much just to get one more new streetpass from somebody I've never met. It has been an age. This post is making me feel so old lmao.

Good news, fellow artists! Nightshade has finally been released by the UChicago team! If you aren't aware of what Nightshade is, it's a tool that helps poison AI datasets so that the model "sees" something different from what an image actually depicts. It's the same team that released Glaze, which helps protect art against style mimicry (aka those finetuned models that try to rip off a specific artist). As they show in their paper, even a hundred poisoned concepts make a huge difference.

(Reminder that glazing your art is more important than nighshading it, as they mention in their tweets above, so when you're uploading your art, try to glaze it at the very least.)
