I dream about getting lost in your eyes...
It was on this bench, where everything had started. It felt like a lifetime ago, when life was innocent, pure and untouched, when she was blissfully unaware of the power those cruel yet sweet eyes would have on her, when all she knew was the life she had created in her mind. Marina sat down, remembering the safe days of her childhood, when she had a safe place to go to, when she had the chance to leave the nightmares away, if only for a few moments.
And that´s how she realized, what she wanted did not exist. The way his eyes shone, for someone else, hit her like a rock, vanishing all hope. No one will ever look at her that way, because a love like that did not exist. Could not exist for her. And so, she should learn. Learn to move on. If only...
...sanity...
Soft and sticky, a sensation she thought she would never feel again. The mossy brick wall had endured all these years, despite snow storms and damp summers. She closed her eyes and run her fingers slightly over the ancient bricks…she enjoyed the smell, the texture under her fingers, remembering her childhood memories, of hours playing in this secluded area, her secret spot, where she could hide from everything and everyone…the place where reality was nothing but a distant nightmare, the place that gave her sanity in times of total Mayhem.
She had lost track of time, didn’t know how long she had been wandering into the woods…already dark due to the thick foliage, it was getting darker by the minute, closing up on her; coming alive with all the night creatures slowly waking up from their daytime sleep. Marina felt like the night owls and crickets were rejecting her, the intruder, making her feel unwelcome. Scared and exhausted, she fell on the ground. Suddenly the havoc of the recent events came down on her, crushing her feelings like a rock; without even thinking about it, tears started rolling down her face, slowly at first, but soon her sobs were the only sound around. When she opened her eyes, she realized the sun was long gone. She stood up and walked until she found a clearing. She looked up and the moon showered her with its peaceful blue light. It was then when she realized: she would be alright. - “Enough” she said out loud. And turned back.
