Chicago is a very chic name for a city
Smelly Onion
Same thing
Jokes aside, I love the mouth feel of Chicago as a name and it is an amazing city, and I think the fact it's name comes from an indigenous word is really cool
"I never thought eva stratt would kidnap me AGAIN," sobs ryland grace, employee of the month at the "eva stratt kidnapping ryland grace" factory (this has already happened twice before) (he actively persuaded her to hire him) (after she had already kidnapped him once)
GILLIAN ANDERSON as Dana Scully
The X-Files – 6.03: Triangle
I've always really, really loved this moment, ever since I watched it live in 1998. It's small, and maybe it's silly, but there's something endearing about the Scullycentrism of it. This episode is extremely Mulder-focused—in both the 1933 timeline, which is in Mulder's POV, and the 1998 timeline, which is in Scully's POV but is completely about Mulder—and the question that hangs over the episode (at least for me) is about their bond; a kind of "Will she recognize him?" (Not literally, but in a spiritual sense.) And ultimately, we get the answer to that question: "Yes, she will. Not completely, but enough to believe him and do as he asks, thus saving him and herself and the whole world."
But this moment is A Scully Moment. She senses something at that spot in the hallway, and she doesn't know what it is, but she feels that recognition that we've been yearning for. "I know you. You're dear to me." And for My Girl to have that overt, absolute recognition not for Her Man but rather for herself is... I don't know. There's something healing, and beautiful, and proud, and self-loving about it.
Does anyone know what to do about the temperature and also the prices
"you only like her because shes a woman" yup "you let female characters get away with too much" yes "if a man did this you would hate him for it" indeed
Just remembered I had this screenshot on my phone somewhere and had to post it here because it really speaks to me

A couple more beastfolk cultural designs. These are minotaur, large semi bipedal herbivores.
Uplifted to sapience through a similar process as most of the other beastfolk on the island of Gliozep. The minotaur are common in the southern grasslands and inhabit about half the island. They are large and fearsome, though gentle in nature. Being pure herbivores a lot of their day is spent farming, eating and pondering.
The Southern Nomads in inhabit the coastal regions, moving along the coast in loose bands or herds of up to around 300 individuals.
The Golmatrem or "Gardenmakers" are part of the Grand Coalition and their territory serves as the bread basket for the whole operation, as their knowledge and skill in agriculture is unmatched.
The MorMnriNrimoa or "The United Alliance of Summervalley" have the largest territory on the island. While most minotaur have a friendly disposition by nature, they are devoted to a pacifist belief system, only inflicting harm to others if absolutely necessary for self defense.
✸ vintage black beauty is live!
i've been asked where/how to find early-mid 20th century images of black people to reference when drawing/writing/whatever, so i figured i'd link to my own personal resource anyone is welcome to utilize! :)
with over 900 pins and counting, this pinterest board focuses entirely on black style from the 1800s - 1970s. it’s been harder than ever to research historical fashion without running into AI, misinformation, and flat out mislabeling of different eras, so i’ve done my best to represent each period as accurately as i can.
i’ve included sections for non-caricatured art and illustration, print media, music, entertainment, styling tools, and ads. there are also sections for period pieces and more modern takes on vintage style. i did not add the 80s and 90s because there's already a wealth of imagery and information about those decades, but maybe one day :)
