When your best friend gets a girlfriend
'cos I get a strange kind of ecstasy from being incomplete
Ewan Lefroy (Ella Ashdown)
My colleague who has never been to a psy party or festival has just bought Mo:dem tickets for himself and a girl he's just met who has never even heard psy. I have a beautiful feeling about this!!! #welcomehome
defined by love; driven by loneliness
I can't feel my face when I'm with you
There’s a lot of people who have attained a kind of fake enlightenment, because they get the feeling, like, ‘okay I understand that’, and ‘that’s what I am’, but its a kind of belief. But what happens is that energetically, in their company, something feels very wrong, because it’s mostly just belief, it’s a kind of idea. It’s the idea, ‘I am free,’ the idea 'I’m not this.’ Kind of like an idea, rather than a falling away of ideas. Something becomes totally relaxed and empty, and non-dependent upon ideas. It’s not an attitude, it’s not a pride; It’s not a specialness. It’s actually empty of all of that. And out of this emptiness, this spontaneity dances out of this emptiness. Because the other one, [the fake enlightenment] it still has a person in it. It’s still the person who has still done something, carries around this sense that 'I’ve done something,’ 'I’m really the one who did it,’ 'I’m just waiting that somebody recognizes that I’m the one who did it.’

The fastest way to kill something special, is to compare it to something else.

I could happily be a snail right now. I'm liking the whole slowing it down thing with a nice shell to hide in when I'm being curious and it gets like wooahhslowthefuckdown. i'm in a gentle mood but its clashing with my wanting to be social mood. I think bubble wrap may be the answer ..lots of bubble wrap ..also why is london so fucking humid?! and why do people say 'do I know you?' when you try to give them a smile and a hello. We're all the same one. Do you know you? also can I go back to Scotland yet please? and why did I use salty veg water for my tea this is tastes like eastern europe hostel soup ..
If you want to cross a river you’ll need a boat but when you get to the other side you do not take the boat with you..
If you think something is important you often become afraid of loosing it, if you’re afraid of loosing it it isn’t worth having because it will tie you down. You’ll compromise your presence to preserve it. In the west many, if not most of us, are defined by things and placing importance on objects i.e the world cup or your gadgets and this is encouraged from father to son. Similarly in the west the saying ‘there’s no future in it’ is a negative connotation implying that the item or process in question isn’t worth having or doing because it is believed to be of no future value but if you’re always living in the present moment this would be a very different saying. It is no matter what is happening outside of the now. We all enter this state of absolute presence when we are performing a skill. In example if we are playing the guitar we are not thinking of the notes as we play them, they flows through our fingers. It's more of a dance between finger and fret board than an active choice. You'll notice this too engulfed in a passionate discussion. It flows through you but you are not actively choosing what is said. You can even find yourself surprised at what your saying, we've all heard of the saying 'slip of the tongue'.
When you think of the word ‘practice’ it generally means to perform an activity or exercise repeatedly or regularly in order to acquire, improve or maintain proficiency in it but apply this now to meditation. When you say ‘he practices meditation’ you are not implying that he is meditating to get better or be the best at meditating. There is no Olympic meditating or competition to be the most enlightened being! When you say he practices meditating you are saying that it is (part of) his way of life. When you are meditating you are in a complete surrender to the present. Flowing with the current, blowing with the breeze, swaying with the tree’s and so on...
A candle flame is wonderful metaphor of truth. In lighting another candle flame, another one million candle flames, nothing of the first flame is lost.
Sometimes your tide pulls me out to sea And I die in a thrashing curse Sometimes we are kind More often, I doze So far up the beach that those who try to reach are burnt alive in the searing heat of the desert of my dispassion So far removed, I never hear the water 'Cept once or twice a month when I see a mirror I love the planet The great benign she-wolf Benefactor Spinning gently on towards the red giant four aeons hence When all the rose gardens are consumed in the flash-fire of flying time She'll leave alone to you
Phil Morgan
Like a mirror; Grasp nothing, refuse nothing, receive but do not keep.
Zhuangzi
Life begins at the end of your comfort zone
Sleep that knits up the ravelled sleave of care The death of each day’s life, sore labour’s bath Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course, Chief nourisher in life’s feast.
Shakespeare
maybe that’s why as english speakers we use ‘like’ and ‘um’ so much, we are always searching for words that aren’t there.
