How can a dream turn to hope?
How does a hope form?
A journey that comes with fight, death and to lose something in order to find something:
I was watching The Snowpiercer movie, the one that got mentioned in Spring Day, and at the very end I had this sudden thoughts what slowly but surely evolved.
What if the rock at the end of ‘ON’ MV represents the hope they have for the future and a dream is actually their will to make a change.
A change that would involve more insight to the album making process. Or a way of doing things, like a ‘self-made’ album.
When a hero’s journey is complete, one is changed.Why can’t it be possible, that BTS’s new dream, is actually a hope and their power is the change what comes from a wish for different future. A better, more self aware future.
A dream is a way how our unconscious communicate with our conscious. When we relax ‘a hole opens up on a wall’ and a thought can arise. This state can be reached the best while we sleeping/dreaming. But with practice,it can be reached via meditation, too. Daydreaming.
Once a though formed in our dreams, it can evolve to a hope. A hope that fuels one’s believes.
Let me connect and break it down;
!!DISCLAMER!!
I did NOT intended to mock or disregard any believes or views of anyone! These are strongly my subjective point of views and did not tend to harm anything or anyone!
‘ON’ MV is filled with many religious symbols and references. At this point I have to mention that symbols are depends on the content and one can have many meanings. But how does ‘ON’ leads us to the hope of a new ‘world’?
At the very beginning we can see a battlefield.
The same battlefield that can represent our ‘war’ with the outer and the inner world. At both place we have to face with difficulties, and sometimes we lose and sometimes we win, but ‘where is hope, there is hardship¹’ and until one trust itself ‘Even if my knee drops to the ground, as long as they don’t get buried, it won’t matter²’
The white dove pierced by the arrow is a symbol how an impact from the outer world can affect our believes and hopes. It can die if we let it, but it can also live.
A white dove was the bird Noah sent from the ark in HOPE that it will find land.
We can look at it as;
The ark was the inner world and Noah lead its people and the animals to the outer world, apart from saving them from drowning. We can also see this scheme in the movie The Snowpiercer where the train is the inner world and the cold snow covered Earth is the outer world.
Sometimes one can break out from it’s own world, but to be 100% free, it needs to be ‘destroyed’, or we can say; the point of views that made us believe in that world need to be changed, and that change can only be reached by an awaking.
‘The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born must first destroy a world.³’
The thorn chain around Jungkook’s hand symbolises the connection to the old believes. As we seen it in ‘Black Swan’ too, you need to ‘die’ in order to reborn.
Jungkook running around in the forest, getting lost and finally collapsing is a representation of how one can lost its path while searching or its own self. And that ‘lost’ feeling is the death.
The only thing that can give us a new life, a rebirth, is hope. Once we lost, and need a direction in life, the best that one can do, is to take a deep dive in it’s inner lake to find the ‘my way’ to a new dream/hope.
‘Therefore the way of the soul in search of its lost father, leads to the water, to the dark mirror that reposes at its bottom. "..." this water is no figure of speech, but a living symbol of the dark psyche.⁴‘
It is also necessary to fall before you can rise. This falling is kind of a journey in one’s unconscious and back.
↑ This scene represents this journey to his shadow. He ‘returns’ with a ‘shell horn’ and his hands are free from the thorn chain, too. Alias his world changed. He no longer a prisoner but someone with a hope and willpower. Or we can say with a dream. The horn is used to awake other peoples.
Lets bring back the VCR from Wings tour final where it was mentioned;
‘Being afraid is another name for hope’
And now a lyrics from ON, Joon’s part;
‘Of course I’m not unafraid’
He raps his part in front of a broken ark, just like Noah, as of representing and empathising the leader position. Later on he is the one who leads the boys into the new world.
To going back to the white dove; once they arriving to the gates of a new world Jin sets a ‘hope’ free. The birds flies in in and we see a dance break that shows them on top a mountain. This mountain is the symbol of self-knowledge.
The reason why is it Jungkook who holds the shell and ‘assemble’ the boys is because he is the one who took the trip to the forest and the lake.
Once the’ritual’ is over Jungkook joins them at the gate and they enter all together.
Seven white doves represents the seven boy and their hope and wish for a change.
!Please be advised that this post is not complete!
There are many more things I will add later about:
-The little girl and boy
-Yoongi’s and Jhope’s part
-Symbols and hidden meanings
-Going insane to stay sane explanation
In conclusion the whole song, completed with the music video, is a representation of a journey of one’s awaking and finding it’s hope and believes of a new, changed world.

Reason why Jungkook leaves last, is because; while the others have different fears to exchange, Kook's is to lose his brothers. So he exchanges it at the Magic Shop, it gives him a key to the place where his brothers are. That's why there is only 1 cape left.
2019 festa pictures, more precisely the chalk board behind Joon had some motive we can find in ‘ON’ MV
Jungkook’s hand
Here is more proof that ON was planned way before we realised. Even thou Black Swan and ON ended up on a same album for various reasons, they got prepared separately so not surprise the theme and the hints been around for so long.
The chalk board behind Joon at ‘Persona’ MV
Also if we look at the hand posture of that figure we can found similarities with this mysterious guy :)
Time travelling back actually turned into going back to BTS’s starting point. Before 2 Kool 4 Skool.
Just like in BTS World game, where the story starts before they debuted. It says 2012 not 2013. "Where we first met in 2012"
"The term Atlas has been used to describe a collection of maps since the 16th century when Flemish geographer Gerardus Mercator published his work in honor of the mythological Titan." Atlas->Map->Map of the soul
BTS released more concept photo Map of the Soul:7 The Journey and they collaborated with a korean designer www.bangsangho.com
This is his intro:
As we can see his point on his art is really interesting and very fitting with BTS's pov, too.
His art is really futuristing and quite impressive BUT! it can be triggeting so pls be cautious!
So the colourful pictures supposed to be representing the universe/galaxy. Thats why the flowers look a bit 'alien' and the doodles has eyes too. They really are painting our galaxy-> spray paint cans
2020 BTS FeSta
As we all know’ the theme this year is a novel by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry; The Little Prince. The book categorised as a children book, however, even the author offers his book for adults. And with a good reason. But as it is a children book, it somehow a tale, too, and this is very important aspect.
After the 2020 festa schedule got released my attention went to the pictures first
The only picture what is actually a ‘real’place is the king statue. It’s Saint Stephen the first Hungarian king. The psychical statue is in Budapest, Hungary at the castle near the Mathias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion.
Every planet is also represented by a door.
Pink- The King
Orange - The Conceited man
White - The Businessman
Red - The Lamplighter
Turquoise - The Drunkard
Black&Gold - The Geographer
Double door - Earth/Magic Shop
These are all connections to ‘The Little Prince book’.
To make the reference even stronger BTS’s official Twitter page just posted a tweet asking us what he should draw for us:
https://twitter.com/bts_bighit/status/1268497749256761347?s=20
This is reference to the 2nd chapter of the book;
Can it be possible that the pink, The King’s door is the other verison of the door in Jin’s Wings concept photo?
The portrait photos also hiding other references to last year’s family portrait and 5th Muster -> Magic Shop. It also indicates that we are inside the magic shop now. I didn’t pointed out on a picture but that chandelier gives so must BST vibe.
During the 5th muster the boys entered the magic shop and now they are looking out from it’s window. I’m really curious to find out where the window looking at.
2020 Festa can hide other reference to Wings not just the BST vibe chandelier:
As doors are opening into different eooms, in our case we can say even opening to a different universe each time, I feel a need to mention that BST korean version is borrowing from a film called ‘Chatroom’
!! TW!! DO NOT WATCH IT IF YOU HAVE DEPRESSION OR CAN'T HANDLE RELATED TOPICS!
Their outfits are also a reference for their solo staged during Love Yourself era. Especially from the tour but mostly from 2018 KBS song festival.
Thanks to Alex we have this picture:

When I looked again at the poster the font they used for ‘FESTA’ got my attention. Each letter has it’s own font and reminded me of an initial.
What is an initial?
Initials indicates a new chapter or helps to navigate within a chapter/paragraph in a book. They canalso take on a describing ‘duty’ as a sort of preview what the paragraph is about indicated by motives or figures. Back in the days they were included in Codices and important writings
(This is the first edition title page of Giuseppe Verdi-Messe Requiem, what was used during Jungkook’s visit to Jin’s room in 5th Muster)
Later, as time passed by initials become an important symbol of fairytale books. I believe this is the form how we all met them first. (Well, not in the Shrek movie but its a good example)
Why fairytales?
As we could all see, the theme of this year's festa is connected to last year's Magic Shop. Apart from many other things there were a hints of tale in it.
- The second VCR- animation/tail like
- The Nutcracker-Sugar Plum Fairy reference
https://twitter.com/i/status/1266090193347588098
Fairytales are usually coming from folklore tales, what are mostly based on dreams and happenings people told to each other for centuries/decades. This folklore stories usually contained many symbols and images borrowed from the relevant century. Their symbolism are always a representation of a deeper meaning. For example; forest in a dream->a place where fears /demons live. Tales and folklore stories are usually, but not always, a form of describing our unconscious message.
If we look at 2020 Festa logo we can see 5 different style. All a bit different than the rest, what makes me think they represent 5 different chapter or book.
As of the schedule this year:
-Every day from 601-614 has a schedule apart from 606. Now we all know that the YT graduation ceremony is on that day BUT! I’m going to focus on the fact that it been left open for Yoongi and his 0613 Honey FM. The fact that yoongi is the ‘DJ’ of Honey FM is also a reference to 5th muster. Do you remember How during the ‘Tea time’ Yoongi was the Dj? (Mots7 V3 concept photo is also a reference to that tea party)
Honey FM was part of;
Festa 2014 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVGoxbU_T-g
Festa 2015 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JT-hatnFpMo
Festa 2016 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9xEr2Nxvl4&t=65s
Festa 2017 -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWA6f7g7NUQ&t=1s
This year festa might have started a bit earlier than we thought when on April 15th Yoongi started a series of DJ Suga’s Hiney FM. Every week he had a different member as a guest. Joon, Jin, Tae, Hobi, Jimin and Jungkook should be the next one on 6th of June.
During this radio sessions with the boys they read tales for us. What perfectly fits into this year’s theme.
I also have to mention the 4th Muster where BTS took on a role as army bomb fairies! Even the name of the Muster was called Happe Ever After. One of the most symbolical sentence what indicates to a fairytale.
How can J-hope represent the ego? Where did he met his persona and shadow? The universe BTS is creating is bigger and wider we ever thought.
The parking lot RM visits in Highlight Reel and the parking lot in J-Hope’s ‘Airplane’ MV are the same place.
But there is more to it.
In RM’s ‘Seoul’ MV he called/got a call from someone to meet. I believe that someone was J-Hope.
‘Airplane’ and ‘Seoul’ MV have some reference to each other. Especially in scenery and the angle what matters the most.
While ‘Seoul’ more focused on the city, ‘Airplane’ more focused on J-Hope.
The main reason why RM call’s J-Hope is the fact that J-Hope was shown with the car during ‘Airplane’ and ever since it stayed with him.
So if RM, who represent the persona, met with J-hope after the phone call, that would explane where ego got the persona qualities.
Here is important to mention that at the end of ‘Seoul’ MV the scenery make us assume that the driver was driving OUT from the city, into the mountains(symbol of self knowledge).
How do we know it’t the mountains? in’ EGO’ MV J-Hope drives a car back from the mountains to the city, where he finally meets with his shadow and learn to live with.And this is how ego got complete and got both persona and shadow qualities. While in ‘Airplane’ J-Hope is in a city he is at one place only, at the parking lot, only. He been ‘daydreaming’ to leave but he needed a call from his persona to move, and once he returns to the city he is ready to live with his shadow.
In chronological order it would be:
-RM went to the car park to find someone, but the person wasn’t there, yet.
-Later, when ‘Airplane’ come out we could see that, that someone was J-Hope.
-Then MONO got released and we could see how persona and ego met.
-Finally in ‘EGO’ J-Hope return to the city, found his shadow and to live with. Completing the SELF.
I also have to mention that Suga been representing shadow since AgustD and been in the city ever since. Suga represents an outspoken, not afraid, raw figure who does what he wants. Talks about desires, struggles, and bravely calling out others. Just how our shadow is. Raw.
While Hope World is more about being in peace with yourself and just enjoying who you are while knowing yourself. Exactly how ego acts.
Mono, like how a mask of a persona acts is like a safe place. Comforting, just sitting there with you holding your hands. However if you need you can put it on to protect you.
And that’s how the Rap Line got represented the Shadow, Ego, and Persona.
Disclaimer; I did not meant any harm or disrespect to any of the solo releases! I love all of them, and there are way more and deeper meaning to every each of the individual songs than what I mentioned. My only intention was to share my thoughts on "what if they related"!
Can it be, that the cinema, we first saw in Boy With Luv is actually based on a real place? And what is more crazy, the hint is 4 years ago?
The very first original Japanese song was; FOR YOU. They made a Mv for it and at the of it Jungkook holds a map. This map is a real place in Santa Cruz, CA.
The picture shows the real cinema. Easy to see how similar they are.
If we walking around the area we can spot some more familiarity. The street light have similar theme/vibe and we can also see a yellow fire hydrant. There are parking meters and at the side of the cinema there is an ATM just like in ‘Lights’ MV. Also a door can be found close to the cash machines.
On Jungkook’s map we can also see that there is a festival and parade happening.
The parade starts where the festival ends. At the cinema.
At the last part of ‘Boy With Luv’ MV we can see a scene what looks like a festival with many dancers.
Where the festival ends, a parade starts. And what does parades have? Marching bands.
The main theme of the Kinetic Manifesto film for ‘ON’ is Marching Band. We can also see reference it in the ‘official’ MV where Jimin stands with the Little boy.
I also feel a need to mention that during Break The Silence docu series there was a sentence what urged the boys the use the word; ‘FESTIVAL’. And so they did during the whole tour! :)
