oh we cryin today? didnt know that but uhhhh i think we can fit it in the schedule
life advice:
never say anything to a penguin that the penguin has not already said to you
this reads like a shitpost but iâm actually 100% serious. i was walking along the side of the harbour this evening, just after all the penguins had come in from the ocean to nest. there was one penguin right by the footpath, and when it saw me it kept saying âhööâ. so i said âhööâ right back. it seemed to like that, and we had a lovely conversation where we just kept saying âhööâ to each other. i crouched down about two metres away from it, and we kept talking, and it actually moved towards me a little bit, seeming to prefer my company to the heartless embrace of the sea. but then i made the mistake of trying to change things up. i said âhwehâ, which was something that a previous penguin said to me, and this penguin hated it, and fucked right off. never said another word to me. i felt so rude.
me talking to my pet, in the same gentle and soft tone you would use talking to an infant: hey assmaster what the fuck is in your mouth
The best part of âme, an intellectualâ is that the grammatically correct pronoun would be âIâ.
you: me, an intellectual
me, an intellectual: I, an intellectual
hi where the fuck do you think that fragment is getting nominative case. listen to me. subjects of transitive verbs in nom-acc languages get nominative case by agreeing with a tense node. are you listening. fragments are accusative in english because thatâs the default case when thereâs no case-assigning node. meet me in the pit behind the dennyâs and i will explain this to you. bring a whiteboard

maybe my favorite post to ever happen
and when Persephone was in the underworld she ate just one bite of avocado toast and so, from thence forth, was cursed to never own a home
person with disabilities? no. person with diss abilities. i have a gift for clever but biting comments & also my knees donât work
@katethealmostgreat about us
so on the subject of stolen property, iâve seen various arguments on this point but it is in fact true that inheriting something from a relative, when you know full well that it was stolen, does not make it yours.
this clearly goes doubly so for powerful magical artifacts, and especially for artifacts which are strongly implied to contain part of their creatorâs soul!
you can talk about consequences - maybe the artifact in question has benefits for you, maybe youâre not convinced its rightful owners would use it responsibly - but talking about the consequences doesnât erase the fact that whatever benefits you think youâre getting are achieved through wrongful means.
which is why i, too, think Frodo should have given the One Ring back to Sauron. thief.
Hahahahaha here comes the law student nerd ready to complicate your wonderful post, op.
(Really this is just pretext for me to study for my property final in a week, so thanks yeah)
Because according to the principles of common property law, the matter of who actually owns title to the One Ring becomes really complicated really fast.
Buckle up babes for the pedantic law lecture no one asked for.
(more under the cut)

gosh but like we spent hundreds of years looking up at the stars and wondering âis there anybody out thereâ and hoping and guessing and imagining
because we as a species were so lonely and we wanted friends so bad, we wanted to meet other species and we wanted to talk to them and we wanted to learn from them and to stop being the only people in the universe
and we started realizing that things were maybe not going so good for usâ we got scared that we were going to blow each other up, we got scared that we were going to break our planet permanently, we got scared that in a hundred years we were all going to be dead and gone and even if there were other people out there, weâd never get to meet them
and then
we built robots?
and we gave them names and we gave them brains made out of silicon and we pretended they were people and we told them hey you wanna go exploring, and of course they did, because we had made them in our own image
and maybe in a hundred years we wonât be around any more, maybe yeah the planet will be a mess and weâll all be dead, and if other people come from the stars we wonât be around to meet them and say hi! how are you! weâre people, too! youâre not alone any more!, maybe weâll be gone
but we built robots, who have beat-up hulls and metal brains, and who have names; and if the other people come and say, who were these people? what were they like?
the robots can say, when they made us, they called us discovery; they called us curiosity; they called us explorer; they called us spirit. they must have thought that was important.
and they told us to tell you hello.
i need feminism because when jesus does a magic trick itâs a goddamn miracle but when a woman does a magic trick she gets burned at the stake
fabulousÂ
i mean they did also kill jesus. that was a pretty significant thing that happened. like i understand where youâre coming from here but they very much did kill jesus.
