Dysphoria is the disconnect between a person’s gender and sex. Gender is determined by one’s neurosex. When the neurosex doesn’t match up with a person’s biological sex, it causes distress and discomfort. This is known as dysphoria, and it’s the single requirement to being trans, whether it’s minor or severe.

A trans person doesn’t have to go on hormones, have surgery, or conform to gender roles to be trans. This isn’t what transmeds stand for. We simply want cis people to stop latching onto the trans label when they’re not actually trans. They’re hurting both themselves and the trans community.

It’s okay to be cisgender, just like how it’s okay to be transgender. Being cisgender doesn’t make your struggles less valid just because you’re “privileged,” according to Tumblr.

This post was made October 2018 I believe? I still agree with a lot of what I say here but I want to make a couple of things clear;

- My title? A joke. However I realise it could actually offend people so I want to say - death threats are never okay. Some people didn’t realise my joke and I want to apologise. I should’ve used a /s or just not said it at all.

- While this post uses personal ‘you’ pronouns, I absolutely don’t believe in telling people who they are. If you read this post as a non-dysphoric person and still say 'no, I’m trans’ then whatever! You will figure yourself out eventually, whether or not I am correct or you are correct. It’s not my place to tell people personally that they aren’t trans. It’s up to you.

- And with that, if you do decide to DM me I don’t mind! I will try to help you out, whether that’s with explaining my experiences or helping you figure out your feelings but again - it’s up to you. If you come to my DMs saying 'I think I’m genderfluid, but am I just a fake trender??’ then I can’t really answer that. While I don’t believe genderfluidity is a concept that can be biological possibility (ie- I don’t think it exists), I can’t tell you that you’re not genderfluid because I don’t have the experience of someone who thinks they are.

- One of the slides that states 'if you comfortable in your body but still experience dysphoria then you are still trans’ caused some confusion. I have worded that wrong. By being comfortable in your body, I mean having low body dysphoria and accepting that that’s just how it is and not being bothered. A lot of people feel like this, it’s very common. If you thought about your body too much, you probably would become dysphoric. I get like this from time to time and it makes me heavily doubt myself, but just because I feel comfortable in that one moment doesn’t mean I’m not trans. That’s what I meant there.

I have no idea how this edit will turn up, but I hope as many people get to see it as possible. Thank you for all the notes and the debates (no thanks to the people who decided to be arsey but oh well, you always get losers) because it has really helped me develop my opinions more.

Of note there are doctors in San deigo working with Never again a Jewish lead movement to shut down ice and bp who are trying to get in so they can give children flu shots. When I heard about ICE rejecting a fully-donated flue shot drive I thought that, setting aside the obvious moral and ethical issues, this was also stupid. Because it makes financial sense to vaccinate, as opposed to the costs of dealing with disease running rampant across a contained population. It struck me much later that this is not some obvious oversight. It’s not that I just outsmarted ICE and realised they’re being financially stupid for the sake of fucking with immigrants. I was the stupid one, because I assumed that, in case of any outbreak, they’d have to deal with it. But they don’t. They can just let people die. And they are.
