If society viewed trans women as women, then there would be no reason for the previous exclusion, right? Or do you think it's because society views trans women as failed men, and that men don't belong in lesbian spaces?

Why would trans men have a historic claim to lesbian spaces, but trans women have to claw and beg and shrink themselves to be barely allowed in as visitors.

I've known I was a lesbian since I was 8 years old. Do you think society, even queer society, would have accepted me as a lesbian? I didn't know I was a trans woman until I was 25. If trans men are allowed in lesbian spaces, would I have been allowed? Why or why not?

every narrative you see about butch self discovery begins with finding stone butch blues or whatever Community Cue because there’s basically no organic way to cultivate the specific aesthetics and social connotations of “butchness” on ur own, cuz it’s all modeled after guys who don’t really exist anymore. and being realistic here most masculine inclinations women are taught to suppress in straight circles are like. also still pretty heavily frowned upon in lesbian circles and aren’t given much space for expression within the context of “butchness”. like the constant reference to the past is just the invention of a defanged, digestible and easily objectified masculinity. it sucks
