Defy Gravity Steam Review

Defy Gravity is a puzzle platformer released onto steam on July 25th 2011. The question is, is it any good?

Defy Gravity as I said is a puzzle platformer which means there is no story what so ever. Hell I don't even know who your playing as, as far as I know it's Sandra Bullock in a prequel to Gravity.

As with any platformer your objective is to get from the end of each stage without death. This is very hard to do as you will be facing death over and over because Defy Gravity is a pretty challenging game. But that is one of the things that make Defy Gravity great, its challenging but never unfair. Every time I died I felt as if it was my fault. There aren't any cheap deaths, you are always in control of you and your mechanics

Speaking of mechanics, Defy Gravity has some of the most original platforming mechanics i've seen in some time now. While traversing the levels you have your typical double jump and two different kind of phase beams which burst into circles of colors. The blue one sucks everything into the center of it, and the orange pushes everything away from it. This creates the puzzle element of how and when to use these circles in order to get through the levels.

The levels themselves are another plus of the title as each level feels very well put together. Some times when playing I would say to myself "Wow I'm going to die alot on this one" then when I maid it through I felt like I accomplished something which is what every platformer should thrive to do.  All of this wouldn't be possible without the tight controls though. While going through space and time your jumps feel good and your always in control of your person (within reason, you are in space) nothing to complain about when it comes to controls. 

If there was something I would complain about, it would have to be the presentation. Defy Gravity honestly just doesn't look very good. Your character model when going from left to right flips as if he is made of paper, and everything is kinda ugly. However for a 2D platformer like this, I can cut it some slack. 

(Everything looks so bleh, except the pink laser beams. Keep the laser beams)

Overall Defy Gravity is a really fun puzzle platformer that is really worth your time and money (Currently Defy Gravity is only 29 cents) With all the reasons I stated above I give Defy Gravity a 8/10 It's a great game.

Ubisoft Has Shipped 8 Million Copies of Watch_Dogs

Yes you have read that title correctly the new Ubisoft tripple A title has shipped a whopping 8 Million copys. "Holy crap" is my initial reaction when I see this. Watch Dogs has been a success if I have ever seen one. In the first week of Watch Dog's release it sold a grand total of 4 Million copy's which broke gaming records for a new IP.

Watch Dogs of course has of course been well received by most critics getting a average of a 8/10 on Metacritic.com. So its not to say that this success is not warranted. Also good news for you more Watch Dogs is coming if you have been one of the many to buy this mammoth of a game three new single player missions are coming out tomorrow as DLC.

If you pick up the DLC you will be able to unlock new Perks Outfits and i'm sure some other goodies. What do you think about Watch Dogs? Did you pick it up? Let us know what you think!

The Wolf Among Us Episode 5: Cry Wolf Spoiler Talk

First let me just say this SPOILER WARNING If you haven't played the 5th and final episode of the Wolf Among Us don't read this as it will contain what happened in the end and some theories about what happened. 

Alright now that I got that little spoiler warning out of the way the first thing that comes to mind is holy crap good job TellTale games for making not only the best choose your own adventure point click they have ever made but ever. This episode wraps up the first season in a nice little purple bow. Everything and everyone you wanted to know about or interacted with gets a little time to shine and a satisfying end  to their story.

Except Nerissa if you have played the 5th episode you know exactly what I am talking about. As she leaves you she said "Your not as bad as they think you are wolf" which is exactly the same thing that Faith said to you as she left. After this happens Bigby starts hearing alot of similarities in everything that Faith had said, and everything that Nerissa said. 

(If you notice both Nerissa and Faith have their bow on their neck in the same place and the same way)

This leads me to believe that Faith was dead before you ever met her. This makes me believe that when you met "Faith" it was actually Nerissa glamored as her to look like her so you would make a connection with Faith and care about her death. 

This of course is all speculation however this is what would make the most sense. Hopefully we find out everything that is up with Nerissa, Faith in the second season of The Wolf Among Us. However that won't be for a long while as TellTale has both the new Game of Thrones game, the Borderlands game, and finishing up the second season of The Walking Dead.

 A: It was for an old friend, 7 years ago

A: I like the final result, it’s so satisfactory ! And the photoshoots, because it's great how the pics ends later, but it's too tiring

Q: What has been some of the favorite cosplays that you have done before?

A: My favorite cosplay of all is Yoko Littner, I love it and I love her ! She is my favorite character!

Q: What are some cosplays that you want to do?

A: Uff… a lot of cosplays haha. But this Summer I want to make cosplays of Christina Aguilera (MV Dirrty) and Sayaka (Mazinger Z)

Q: What are some of your favorite anime and video games?

A: My favorite animes are Elfen Lied, Fate/Stay Night, Highschool of the Dead, Sora no Otoshimono… And games I love Super Mario Bros haha , Lollipop Chainsaw, Dead Island and Alice Madness Returns.

Trapped Dead Steam Review

Trapped Dead considers itself to be a "Action Strategy Zombie" Game which let be frank, sounds pretty freaking awesome. Sadly however what we get is a clunky mess of a RTS that fails on many accounts. 

The story in Trapped dead is literally about as generic as you would find in a post apocalyptic world. A local virus outbreak infects the inhabitants of an idyllic rural town, transforming its citizens into a horde of blood-thirsty zombies, and it just so happens your main characters are in the thick of things trying to survive. The whole story is told through some very generic looking comic strip ala the walking dead. 

(This is basically what all the "cutscenes" look like)

It doesn't help matters that the characters you meet are again just about as generic as a piece of white bimbo bread. On top of things the voice acting is atrocious, though I think they might have done that on purpose as they could have been going for a "B" movie vibe but it just falls flat. 

All of that being said, I can forgive a bad story or voice acting and what have you if the gameplay is any good. Sadly, again, it's not. In fact the trapped dead is pretty piss poor in that respect. You control your characters in a RTS fashion (In other words you click on characters then click to tell them where to go) but they couldn't even manage to get this right. 

When you click on somewhere for your character to go, they sometimes go and sometimes don't. I swear I mash on the mouse and sometimes they just sit there saying "No it's ok, I want to be zombie chow". The combat is worse, when you select your weapon and target again you guy just stands there like a dummy and sometimes will hit and sometimes won't. Also, things get 10 times worse once you get control of multiple characters as for some reason when you try to group control them, it just doesn't work. Which, you guessed it, makes your part zombie chow.

(That guy is screwed)

Of all the bad frustrations Trapped Dead has, there is one redeeming quality and that is the visuals. Personally I like the way the game looks. It does a good job of making your surroundings look like things have gone to hell. Whether its a hospital as you can see above or a garage or anywhere else the visuals are good. 

That is where the praise ends however as literally everything else in Trapped Dead stinks of inexperienced developers and clunk. Overall Trapped Dead is a pretty bad game with little to no value. I would only pick this one up when it goes on super sale on steam if you happen to be in the mood to frustrate yourself.

Woodle Tree Adventures Preview

This above is a screen shot of Woodle Tree Adventures, a new indie 3D Platformer that has been released onto steam. 

Just to give you a idea of how far I am into the game at the time of writing this, I am 33 Percent through the adventure. Now onto opinions, the first thing you probably notice is the face that the "Woodle" Tree is freaking adorable along with the visuals in general, and honestly have been blown away with how much color there has been so far. 

(Don't fall off!)

The visuals aren't the only thing that is pretty good about this title, so far the gameplay has been fun although not terribly challenging. I can tell that they were targeting a younger audience with the game, however, Woodle tree gives off the vibe of a older time where 3D color platformers like Mario 64 existed. 

Sadly not everything in Woodle is great and colorful and fun. So far in my adventure I can say that my biggest gripe with Woodle is the camera. My god it's terrible. There are times where literally I could see nothing because it would place itself behind the world so all I would see are blocks of orange and color. Hopefully they get this fixed in the next patch that they are planning on doing. 

(Go little Woodle go! You can make it!)

At this point in the game there really isn't much else that is left to be said about Woodle, although I feel like the game might be coming to a very very short end. If you would like to know more about Woodle Tree Adventures send us a message or possible stick around for a review!
