"There are some things they're better off not knowing" meanwhile this is Bofurin since last month bc they don't know shit
Reading the WHA manga is a fun experience because when you get into it a bit, you turn your head and there's Chekhov hanging a gun on the wall. And that's fine - expected, even. You have to let Chekhov hang a gun on the wall every now and then so he can take them down and shoot them later. For enrichment. But then you get a few more chapters in, and there's Chekhov again with another gun, and then another one a few chapters after that. And eventually, the number of guns on the wall has really started to get concerning, and you start to wonder what great firing squad will be required to handle all of them, or if Chekhov intends on setting them all off one by one by himself. And the few guns that have been set off were all so sudden and painful that you're really starting to worry about where all of this is going. And then you run out of chapters to read.
@raainyskies you can’t just leave that hiding in the comments.
[Image ID: An edited tumblr post exchange between swanpert and jame7t, with characters from Witch Hat Atelier next to the text to imply they are speaking. Qifrey, looking concerned, says "can you take my white ass to funkytown?". The brimmed hat witch with the eyeball mask says "nope. torture city again". Qifrey, glaring and soaking wet, says "come on". End ID]
“bits to use in everyday conversations”
it’s really funny how oru views qifrey like a brooding orphan with trust issues who he can fix with homemade pudding cups and tough love while qifrey thinks they’re like if prometheus and sisyphus had to meal prep for a family of six on top of the eternal torture
kamome shirahama looked at sam and frodo and said “what if sam begged to follow frodo but frodo never let him carry him over and over again” and wrote it into a diabolical manga
Its them my babiess✨️🥹
Is this anything. behold spoilerless propaganda to watch and read witch hat atelier. go. go do it right now. do it
if you see a wind breaker fan posting a lot lately don't worry they're just trying to cope

"Watch/read witch hat atelier" they said "its charming domestic slice of life adoptive family wonder of magic story” WRONG. Tree
Thinking about how people outside of Makochi (like Sakura when he enrolled) still think Furin is a school of chaotic delinquents fighting each other bc that was their reputation for years.
Also thinking the Red Chanpuru might be similar but opposite. They had a rep of being protectors for decades but maybe some part of this group doesn’t function as guardians anymore. Maybe they’re corrupt in some way but only the people within their community are aware of it. So people outside their city (like Endo) still know the RC by their old reputation.
So Endo and now Furin believe the RC are just like Bofurin, except with even stronger ties between members and potentially more violent toward anyone that causes harm. But what if it actually turns out to be so much worse than that?
Timeline as of Wbk 216 raises some questions (but what doesn't at this point haha. pls correct me if I'm wrong):
1-3(?) years before the story starts: Youngest suo we've seen so far is him in middle school (sources: flashback with tsugeura). He has a different eyepatch indicating his eye injury is recent. This is also pre-bofurin Makochi, as the current freshmen are shown to be in middle school.
Other information to note:
Sakura is labeled as "the outsider" when he comes to town, implying that he is the only outsider to the community as of the beginning of the show. I think it's also said explicitly. Everyone else knows and respects Suo in episode/chapter 1, implying that he is a trusted and well known member of the community who has been there for a long time.
Suo is an officer of the Red Chanpuru (somehow), according to Endo
Suo does not have a house in Makochi (?)
This being said:
(big question) Why did Suo come to Furin (and why did he leave)?
When did Suo come to Furin and did anyone bring him/force him to go?
Why did Suo come to Furin that was either before or in the process of reforming from the gang violence into a community brought together by common (productive) goals?
What persuaded Suo to come to Furin (assuming he was not forced)?
How is Suo an important member of his hometown gang when he probably hasn't been around them for a long time (or has he)?
If he has, then a) why didn't they get involved in the Noroshi arc and b) how did he manage to balance being an officer in both organizations that are TWO HOURS away from each other?
Why didn't he tell anyone about himself?
Tldr: Chapter 216 raises many more questions than it answers, for sure. Suo came for Makochi before bofurin took over the school, probably by a long while and possibly before bofurin was even formed. And then he stuck around for the reformation takeover. Things are getting interesting and this is a huge can of worms now
Still processing so this is a messy but.
Endo being the one who says Suo wouldn't want to come back to Furin. When Endo is the one who hasn't been around the crew and doesn't know their dynamic and barely even knows anything about Suo except the info he's gathered in the last twenty-four hours.
Endo judging Sakura when they first met and saying he doesn't belong to Furin. When he doesn't know anything about Sakura or his dynamic with Furin.
