Except the first chapter is all about Inko and her failing marriage! Yay! Love, as far as Hymns and Stories said, was supposed to be buoyant and frantic. A happy anxiety that would turn colours brighter, warmth warmer, and life livelier. Generally, it was described as something purely positive, with circumstances and choices being the things that sometimes twisted it into something more like War. Which mortals and Gods alike immediately saw as something else – something separate. The moment that Ares dipped his blood-crusted nails into a situation, Love was no longer involved. It had been the spark, the positive intention, a misguided hope, the start - but Love itself didn’t have a place in War. Because it, as an emotion, was purely positive, and so it couldn’t be the source of pain and strife.

Because if Love caused pain, then it wasn’t really Love anymore, was it?

Shockwave must have experienced nearly a half-thousand of the things at this point, and they never lasted. By the time he realised that the peace was sticking this time around, it was too late to pack up his lab and re-establish it somewhere else. Legal science under the watchful optics of the director boards, journalists, and enforcers is not Shockwave’s idea of fun. Thankfully, there is enough of a black market to get a test subject or two when he plays his cards right … - A light-hearted Post War fic where Shockwave makes an unlikely friend :)

I saw an interesting post which talked about mythologizing sex, and making it seem like a special category of human behavior rather than just a thing people do.

It made me think about other common human things that every human partakes in or experiences some small way, and how interesting it would be to mythologize other behaviours when worldbuilding for example.

For example the mythologizing of food. Would abstaining from eating food be seen as virtuous, or maybe as something harmful and sick? Would there be special foods for every type of 'flavor'? Are there societal expectations around liking specific flavors, such as 'bitter' being a professional flavor, and 'sweet' being only for kids and the mentally ill?

Just had to write this down before I forget about it.

TF Secret Solenoid - 2023!

Hello Transformers fandom! :) If you recognize the name, then I'm sure you're as excited as we are!

We've decided to bring back the tradition of the fandom's Secret Solenoid, and with this, officially announce that the annual Transformers gift exchange has returned!

Like the previous Solenoids, this one will follow a Secret Santa format, where participants will have the option of signing-up for mutual gift-giving. You will create a gift for someone, and receive one back!

As we're unaffiliated with the earlier organizers, we've made some changes prior to the earlier years and created new socials that will serve the same functions as the last, so without further ado!

You like swerve? Have you ready any good swerve centric fics?

I don't read much fic. I operate very much in my own sandbox due to having a pathologically strong dislike for characters like Jazz and Prowl are often written. I especially do not read IDW inspired fic because I have no particular interest in the canon and what's come out of it.

Due to some specific toxic shit friends of mine who write that character have faced, I am not opening them up to fresh bullshit. I don't want them seeing it on MY blog and I will absolutely go block happy if it happens here.

So I would like to invite followers to share their fic recs and their own fic if they feel safe to do so.

I would like to remind everyone we all have characterizations we don't like. I know damn well MY stuff is not to many people's tastes and that's okay. But if anyone brings fandom wank to this corner of the Hellsite I will show everyone just what a miserable bitch I can be when provoked.

I just had the worst realisation. Removable kibble ABSOLUTELY would leave tan lines, except way worse. An outlining of crust, for one. Scuff marks. And then paint discolouration, if not a complete lack of paint wherever the kibble was located!
