"It's been a long time, hyung. How are you?"
[ ◕ — Cherishing things was something he never learned to do. It was a concept he could never grasp. Either it would mean nothing to him or he’d become too crazed over it that madness would envelope his mind so tightly he could feel the headaches pounding away. Cherish what you have before it slips away.
They come back sometimes, do they not? Set one free and if it loves you enough it’ll come strolling back.
"The road split and we both took different paths…" Spike’s head titled on an angle whilst laying his dark eyes to rest on the visual he seemed to have missed. "…looks like we got caught in a figure eight, love."
Goodbyes and hellos were always surrounded with an awkward atmosphere, specially when the distance between them was dragged out over months. He may have set an impression that he wasn’t happy. Should he be bouncing? Giggling with excitement at her feet? That was not his style in the least.
"I’ve been better but that’s nothing to be surprised by." Expression drained from nearly any emotion sketched out a small painting of curiousity. "How are you?"

Dark. Dark. Dark. It was just too damn dark in this alleyway, which contained no source of light whatsoever. A string of curses soon followed, albeit through her mind, as she swore upon the workers who created it in the first place. Were they not aware of the multiple dangers surrounding unlit alleyways and oblivious young woman?
Eyes not fully adjusted to the pitch-black area, she felt her body collide with a rough surface, resulting in her pocket knife falling to the ground with a deafening clank. “Shit!” The rebel immediately bent down to retrieve her fallen item, her heart nearly dropping at the sound of metal against cement, for those were one of her favorite pocket knives god dammit. A wall. Minzy had ran straight into a wall, and she didn’t know whether to be relieved of the darkness, for it managed to cover-up her short accident to the blind eye, or pissed off that she had clumsily collided with it, and in the process, caused her to drop her most valuable treasure. Unable to see clearly, Minzy had to resort to feeling around the blade, of course no where near the sharp edges, looking for any sign of damage. Too absorbed in her task, she hadn’t notice the approaching figure until they spoke. Child? Did he just refer to her as a child? "First of all, fuck off. Second, I’m not a child. And third, walk away before I make you, old man."
[ ◕ — "Old man?" A scoff was thrown from slightly curved lips. "Can't say you're wrong..." There was no denying his age. Though, his physically appearance would give incredibly inaccurate guess to swim around one's mind.
His footsteps became quiet and still. If her words were able to be proven through whatever action she would choose to take than he'd remain defenseless. Of course, he wouldn't be killed but a stab wound, possibly multiple, would leave some aching here and there and an unwanted mess on his clothing.
"I've got years on you, love. I wouldn't try anything stupid now." Spike's eyes drifted over her body, paying the most attention to her fingers as they moved along the weapon she possessed.
"Feel safer walking in the dark with one of those? Not everything in the shadows and can be dismissed with a metal blade."
Usually he'd wait to take the introduction to the hell mouth road but perhaps her words removed a few seconds from his slowly ticking time bomb. It was bound to go off eventually. Tonight, tomorrow, in a week. The bomb would be lit soon and again after that. It was a cycle that would never break.
"— You should be lucky I don’t plan to kill you, dear.” Zen replied in a serious tone, fixing her glare at the male. Her thumb flicked on the silver ring she wore on her index finger, spinning the rim on it before she stopped. Violet eyes locked their stare at the male before her as he attempted to close the distance between them after she managed to hit him with a wind orb. It so happened the mage was in the midst of an investigation to search for an artifact that contained cursed magic — a ring suited for necromancers. Since it was a dangerous artifact for humans or supernatural beings alike to have possession, Zen needed to retrieve it as soon as possible, before it goes into the wrong hands. However, she was surprised the vampire before her had possession of the ring. Although it made her job easy to find the artifact, obtaining it would be a challenge — the fact she was only limited to two rings on her hand and she was dealing with a tough opponent. Her violet eyes gave a serious glare at the male for a few seconds, before it took a glance at the silver accessory he played with and back to him. Though she didn’t mind about what he addressed her, Zen held the urge to cast another wind projectile at him. There was no time for her to be playing games at this moment. "— It’s a cursed ring, made for necromancers." She explained shortly. "And I wouldn’t suggest playing with it, really. Unless you plan a quick death.”
[ ◕ — "No?" A purposeful and nearly mocking pout pushed out his lower lip. "What a shame."
There came the first answer. "Cursed, you say?" With his head titled a small winced sounded from clenched teeth, squinting in no particular direction. "No...I don't think this one is cursed. You see, got this puppy from one of them..." The only free hand he had moved to perform a charade in the air between them, acting as if he were twisting a knob or a locker. "...toy machines you stick a dollar in."
It was clearly a lie. He knew it, she knew it and any stranger that were able to see the scene unfold would have known it. He was toying with her and he could begin to sense her irritation level rise.
"Love." Suddenly, his playfully, and otherwise ignorant, attitude shifted. Along with came a different sketch of his features as they turned to give an almost chilling glare. "Death and I have a date. But this ring and I do..."
There were no plans he had for the ring. Not a single desire circled his corrupted and twisted mind. All he knew was that he wanted it for his. Even with being unsure of what it did and what power it truly possessed, Spike was going to see to that he was the owner of the ring; for now.
"Must you humans always snoop into the shadows and act like some brave heroes? Take a hint. We don't need to you to keep us from our own kind, yeah? Leave the ring with me. Go on about your life and such."
There were others like her. Like humans, they were all biologically the same yet with vampires, the range was seemingly limitless. That was both comforting yet terrifying. Ones like her had telltale signs: veins ranging from white to black, eyes with small hints of silver, a framework that just looked inhuman. Some preferred the word flawless, but being a newborn was like being an easy target. She didn’t look very strong nor very fast and her veins were always a shade or two under white. Granted she was a bit unconventional, attempting to be as human as she once was. Tonight was supposedly normal. Her cravings were at their usual low — nothing more than steady heartbeats echoing in a forced distance. All she wanted to do was escape into her suite and disgracefully rip into a bag of her preferred type A. One small step after another, she knew she was close to “home”. After taking a small shortcut, eeriness had suddenly crawled along her skin. For someone of her kind, she should have been sharper than most, yet for someone of her age, senses either worked fantastically or pathetically. Gaze wary and caution in her system, the pale miss kept her eyes on the shadows for a moment longer. Human or not, the feeling of being watched was the same. Frame now frozen in place, she let her gaze madly flicker to every dark crevice it could land on. Either she was another murder attempt or her own stab at paranoia. Keep walking. There’s a busy street close by so keep walking. So she did, though this time her timidity was prevalent. A part of her had tried to convince herself that she was being ridiculous and just needed to go home. Yet she couldn’t shake off the suspicion that a pair of eyes were on her. One hand sweeping through her hair, the newborn tried to ignore her instincts and keep walking. Not without one glance back, of course. Don’t worry. It’s nothing. You’re fine.
[ ◕ — How he missed that game of cat and mouse. The thrill of chasing the panicked mice through the shadows and always ending with a tasteful meal. Though, she wouldn't be much to satisfy his thirst. He kills his own kind--eating them would never be taken into consideration. Who would ever want to snack over a vampire? The cold blood...tasteless and bland.
His means for stalking her were out of pure amusement and curiosity. There wasn't much else the night had in store for him. That new presence was merely a gift of fun sitting in his city.
An alley way presented itself, one she had already stepped passed, and so Spike's feet lead him into the shadows. Swiftly, he hoisted himself up onto the dumpster attached to the farther building, climbing up the wall to stand upon the building's roof. His hand tucked themselves back into his pockets as he traveled the width only to drop himself down off the edge, landing on the cement sidewalk with an almost subtle thud.
There he waited for the said beauty to reveal herself from around the corner. The wait wasn't long. Not long in the slightest. "Were you looking for me?" An amused smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. Her stumble and evident shock from his appearance earned for his eyebrow to rise, tilting his head down on a slight tilt.
The words made him stiffen. Noticeably stiffen. His fingers dug into the wet cloth curled into his palm, and as a result of that, a small puddle of water began spreading out over the bar counter. With a very brief twitch of his eye he shook off the words and returned to his cleaning.
Byunghun didn’t bother to look at the holder of the voice. He didn’t care. He didn’t associate himself with that title of all things, and wasn’t about to just answer to anyone. But the stranger kept talking. And talking. And talking. His hot-headed temper was sure not going to refrain itself for long. The words rung in his head, like a water droplet displaced into a basin of water. They repeated over and over again, louder each time, until his hand purposefully although seemingly accidentally knocked the boy’s glass off the bar counter and onto the poor victim’s lap. “Sorry, sir. Let me get you a towel.” He snarled, reaching behind the counter for a dry, white cloth and tossed it over to the lad.
Probably not the most hospitable thing to be doing during work—if his boss found out about his troublesome behavior he was sure to be in a hell lot of trouble—but the flare of irritation was too inflamed to ignore. “Can I get you anything else?” Byunghun growled through gritted teeth, eyeing the patron in front of him with a brutally savage glare.
[ ◕ — Silence gave room for some sort of response but Spike's careless speech didn't earn him words in return. No. Instead, he received a splash of liquid soaking his pants in the most uncomfortable area. Instantly, he lifted from his seat in the only attempt to hide from the dampness though it was entirely out of his control at that point. A small hiss left his lips as he stared down on himself.
"Yeah, thank you." Sarcasm rang with his words as they rolled off his sharp tongue. The towel was grasped in his hand tightly whilst he began to wipe himself down. Spike's eyes remained in slits as he did so, only glancing back up to the bar tender. It was clear his previous words touched some nerve. Normally one would watch what they said moving further but not Spike. This only add fuel to the fire. No harm was meant in the beginning but then he felt the need to purposely poke at the other's ticking bomb.
"A free drink will work fine, Kid." The damp towel was then tossed back towards the boy behind the counter. "Did Mommy not teach you how to be polite to customers?" The alcohol swimming in his system took full affect at this point. It wasn't that his inner asshole needed much to come out though it was a lot easier for the venomous words to spill with the help of intoxication.
[OOC: Sorry for being absent. I'll get to replies and such after I do some icon editing.]
Such a violent drunk…
[ ◕ — The darkness was a familiar comfort zone and the quiet was soothing music to his ears. The alley was empty and he hadn't a single complaint to whine about.
Silence was broken with the gentle clinging sound coming from around the corner. Damn his sensitive ears. Exhaling an almost annoyed sigh with a cloud of smoke leaving his lips, Spike chose to keep his eyes straight and uninterested in the approaching figure.
The footsteps of his sudden company lead past the wall he hid behind. No longer cold his eyes resist the temptation and so his sight lowered down to the object that was emitting the sound. A pocket knife? Odd. What made it even more uncommon was the carrier of the weapon. A young looking and tiny-framed woman.
"Didn't think they sold those in the child's section of the dollar store." — [minuoir]
[ ◕ — Thick crimson liquid leaked from a sinister smirk.
A humourless laugh slips from his lips just as his tongue helps to remove the blood dripping from the inside of his lip. "Kitty likes to play." Spike stumbled lazily in his stance while dark orbs stalk his prey as she stare back. The smirk didn't leave his lips for even a second.
Days went by and each one would give him the notion that he was being watched, followed. They should be smarter. Don't they know of him? They must if their interest was sparked so intensely the dedicated their time to track him through the shadows. He'd been playing by the rules of their cat and mouse game for too long. Enough was enough.
He had questions. And now that he had the upper hand, he'd get the answers he wanted. But first, as he always enjoyed so much, he'd play a game of his own.
"Tell me...Zen, right?" Between his fingers he played with the silver accessory that held such a high priority in her eyes. "Detective Zen, Miss Zen...kitten." He continued on with a tone that sounded much too relaxed for having just been hit. "Why does kitten want to play with the ring so badly?" — [imaginexporium]

[ ◕ — "Listen, I don't have time for your petty pleading."
He should receive an award for how well his acting was. Almost like a script was being quickly typed out in his mind and he was merely reading his lines, Spike held a scowl so vicious it showed his true intentions. His sharp tongue traced along the inside of his cheek and then over his bottom lip, preparing another threat to be voiced. "Give me what I want and you can go about with your rich boy life."
Don't be stupid...Empty were his threats. Did the victim sitting before him need to be aware of such? No. Spike needed the money and he needed it without another second slipping from his clock. He couldn't lay a hand on this man, not even a single forceful finger. The consequence would not only be painful from himself but embarrassing. ...Don't make me take off this mask. — [ahnjv]
[ ◕ — One of the many listed and unlisted advantages to being of his kind was the ability to sniff out other's like him and even those who were anything besides human. There were the odd times when a mistake would lower the streak he'd built. That night, there wasn't a single mistake.
He knew. He could feel it. Through the dark skies glazed over his eyes, Spike starred in her direction. Such innocence and youth, it was nearly admirable. To take a single guess he'd say she was as old as a five year old, perhaps even younger. How long has it been since he'd come across a newborn with such beauty? The last was put back into the ground by his very hand. Though, he'd bring no harm to this one. Not yet.
Just like vampires did, he stayed in the shadows of the room only to have his attention fully hooked on his target. Spike waited; waited for her to sense his stare. Seconds pass slowly. Time itself seemed to have been set back a speed.
'Bout time there was some fun around here...
Location was shifted and to his very amusement, the female had her head tilted in the direction his stare was last cast. She knew there was someone there and it caused a bone-chilling smirk to have control over his features. Over here, love. —[missjoohyun]
[ ◕ — "Peter Pan boy?"
"I've heard stories about you." The curve upon his venomous lips showed utter amusement. That was the very deeply hidden beauty of demon bars. The gossip was no different from that of teenage girls. Stories circled even the slimiest of ears and always had a way of getting back to Spike. This was his city now. To the underworld, all those bumps in the night, Spike made his name known clearly and that it was exactly what he planned do in that moment.
"Boy stuck in time, no parents to teach him how to be a man." Insensitive, he was. Could it have been the lack of a beating heart? Or was it the fact he had no care about anyone but himself. One way or anther, his tone was wrapped with a humour that could be taken in a manner it was likely not meant.
"What'd you? Dabble a little to far into the magician gig?" —[ lbhxn ]
