Did some art that might be the dragon not sure yet but I like where itâs going. My friend and I were talking about capstone and she did a drawing of the dragon during it and I really liked her color pallet so I tried something similar.Â

My prototype 2 for Capstone. Itâs a nightmare sequence area with imagery that tries to connect to consumption and destruction. Iâm not exactly happy with the sounds yet but itâll have to do for now and Iâll come back to it later.

Making Again for 11/9/2021:
Finished editing/rewriting my script. Super happy with it, our essay writing really helped with it. It reminded me of different things I wanted to include and the Eno Oblique I chose âBreathe More Deeplyâ helped me try to stay calm. Although I feel like Iâm more successful with that now that I finished the script and am gonna work on some visuals for the rest of the night. :)

Finished my vomit draft, havenât worked in context or active research part yet.Â
Rework outline order: Focus: (Capitalismâ Capitalism binary thinking, Toxic Positivity, Individualism and Isolation, Corporations predatory towards workers). Source research Capitalism Binary thinking Toxic Positivity Individualism and Isolation Corporations predatory towards workers Context ...
Reworked my outline, pretty happy with it, still figuring out my context.
Train to Busan
Just watched Train to Busan a movie that critiques capitalism.
Summary:
-This movie shows the selfishness and individualist attitude (interested in exploring this)
-See a little bit of glorification of work (in lines implying that you need to study hard and that the daughter will understand while he worked so hard and couldn't be with him)
-See the attitude that the only way you can fail at this capitalistic game is if you're lazy or stupid (the binary thinking in Capitalism I'm interested in exploring, winners or losers)
Notes:
Love of working, suggestion that failure can only come from not being smart or working hard âdonât flunk school or youâll end up like himâ
Idea that you must finish what you start and not really care about emotional feeling or what causes you not to finish
Idea that people shouldnât protest or fight against the status quo that things would be different in the past âpeople riot over anything back in the old days theyâd be re-educated
Government lies about pandemic, says just violent outbreak.
That idea of not working together when the daughter gave up the seat for a woman. He says she needs look out for herself.
Only thinking about yourself wanting to go to Busan alone the Dad days and a Train Car
Individualism
Selfishness
Wanting to leave the train with the people behind
Contrast with the pregnant womanâs husband who opens the door for the asshole dad who wants to bring people behind. Who tells the Dad to stick his head back in to take out some zombies and helps the jerk protagonist father get his kid back.
Working together in the fight. Character development?
Glorifying sacrifice or suffering â>sheâll understand why you worked so hard when you get older
Jerk guy CEO of something express embodiment capitalist ideology wanting to kick those others out fighting so hard to keep them out. He throws people into zombies as diversions sometimes unnecessarily. Always looking out for himself.
Capitalism cutting corners for profit causing the spill to leak and the zombie apocalypse.
I also wanted to post what Iâm showing for my Capstone 1 presentation tomorrow. Itâs the animatic for the end of my animation. For context this is after my characters have started to mobilize the dragon (a.k.a capitalism) and then we see the dragonâs reaction.Â
Iâm pretty proud of it but Iâm excited/nervous to see what people think.Â

Finished my script awhile ago. I cut it down and Iâm happy about it but Iâm still interested in showing visually how I can explore other aspects or tweak other things further on in the process. But itâll likely be more visually and not involve like rewriting the script again.Â
I've wanted to make this video for a while but thought my window had passed...but it seems like this pandemic is never-ending so...here you go.SOURCES:- http...
-lying saying their product could cure you of CovidÂ
-mentioned that these types of companies have a history of this behavior during other health crises.
Multilevel marketing companies claim to be legitimate businesses, but some seem awfullyâŠpyramid shaped. John Oliver and Jaime Camil demonstrate how they work...
Watched this and another video on multi level marketing which had a lot of interesting stuff about worker exploration and the other video had stuff about how mlms used tragedies like covid to make money.
John Oliver
-uses manipulative practices to make people buy into the idea that MLMâs can change their  life (make the rich).
-false claim Herbalife helped overcome brain tumor
-helped get pregnant

-Video about chicken industry, this video focuses on the workers, chicken farmers.Â
-Pilgrims, Tyson, Sanderson Farms and Perdue dominate the chicken industry
-multiple studies show whose sole source of income is chicken farming live below or near the poverty line--> This is because of contract farming, they drop off the chickens then pick them up sometime later (97 percent of chickens are raised this way)
-the companies own the chickens(what makes money), and farmers own the property and the equipment(what costs money)
-these corporations also determine how those farmers take care of the chickens, one farmer talked about how the company heâs signed the contract with wonât let the chickens be outside instead preferring them sitting still inside.Â
-companies also increase these farmers debt by making them buy new equipment constantly.
-farmers are also paid by a âgladiator tournamentâ ranking farmers in the same area against each other, those in the top half get a bonus those in the bottom half get a pay cut.Â
-Every time farmers speak out these corporations retaliate by cutting pay, cutting the quality of chickens they get, cutting the amount of chickens they get. (number 1 is the best quality they have number 10 is the worst quality of chicken)
This was a really interesting source about worker exploitation, and the encouragement of toxic worker environments. This something I definitely want to incorporate into my story.Â
These protective laws were written but theyâre not be enforced, a rider has been inserted into the actual bill every year that forbids the usda from enforcing these rules
This addition has been headed by Steve Womack every year who receives money from Tyson and the nation chicken council. Tyson has world headquarters in its district --> I should check to see the result of the vote coming up during the time to give farmers protection from speaking up about this issue.
I listened do the capitalisnt podcast, specifically the promise of Meritocracy with Adrian Wooldridge. It had two people representing the pro and con meritocracy idea. Some interesting ideas was the notion that merit is defined by those in power and therefore canât be objective, and meritocracy is a system that says youâve reached the bottom of society because youâre not good and canât possibly be because of any systemic issues.Â
Ideas Capitalismâs negative impact on the world (probably focus on the U.S.) Neo-liberal Capitalism (think more about this â look for more sources) What is it? (research this) https://www.theguardian.com/books/2016/apr/15/neoliberalism-ideology-problem-george-monbiot âImagine if the people o...
Iâve been working on my outline, I found a few more sources focused on isolation in capitalism, what neoliberal capitalism is and competition in capitalism and how that breeds inequality. I wanna go back in and dive deeper into these sources, but I found them very helpful.

Another painting from Balfour Ker, I really like how his paintings emphasis the extremes heâs trying to represent and show a clear picture. I love how the dark of the rich dudes suit draws your attention to him, and all the needy people reaching for wealth and you even see some hands clasped as if begging for something. Itâs also exciting to find painters repping these anti-capitalist values.Â
This is a painting called From the Depths by Balfour Ker. I like how this piece depicts a class struggle that continues to persist, I also wanted to reference it like a year ago but forgot the name of it. So itâs definitely a piece Iâm happy to revisit.
