I spent extra time on this and I'm really proud of it! I learned a lot recreating the background and practicing expressions on strange-emoting characters I might be annoying under the read more lmao but! I wanted to do a bigger page/panel redraw with a few others characters and thought this layout made some good sense!

OJ is Omega Jr! He uses Mirror pronouns so that's why Verdant (and i) who use he/him will call OJ he/him but Lari, who uses she/her, calls OJ she/her !! Which I think is such a cool idea especially when it comes to a robot character!!
Lari is a crystal chao who decided she was more and I really had fun playing with her expressions ! In the last panel, she's meant to look annoyed that her teasing was interrupted
I started writing this and then took literally 6 days off so a lot of my thoughts are gone;(
Road is extra stressed bc he's kinda in charge of two kids, Ria and Dusk are teens and problems I love them they rope Sunrise into it they're Team Soup!
My older Dusk design has extremely specialized inhibitor rings that I'm still trying with the design of but he gets more monster-like as he gets older and has a hard time standing with his spine curving, Ria rides him into battle lmao. He still doesn't really talk or emote correctly so trying to get his expression right was also difficult
Recreating the background was a challenge but I think I learned some fun color things and tried some new techniques I like the outcome! I with I'd made the rain a little heavier but I'm still pleased:> thanks for reading if you're here kiss kiss kiss

Anyways! A commission I did for @kayawatts (and @theleviathanslair ) the family continued to grow! Was so happy to meet their final bundle of joy she's so cute!! I always love drawing for Kaya and Blue! Their characters are always so beautiful!!!

So I tried to hit as many of the guests that had personal invites (or at least one per creator) as I could I really hope i didn't miss too many/anyone
I also had asked my friends who'd like to be a platonic friend date for kiks and Percy helped me pick their blazamy kid Blitz! Such a pleasure to draw her! I based her dress off of the one she wore to Danica's party, adjusted the style a touch to give her a new outfit
Kiks' dress was difficult to pick! I wanted something sweet looking and a little nicer than normal but not something over the top! In the story, Princess Mina and her become quick friends and Mina offers Kiks an outfit and I just thought that was so sweet!
But I thinkni did okay with the dress I think Kiks looks very sweet and pretty and I'm happy with it don't ask about how she did her quills like that tho ok that's her secret hehe
Because Indi is mute, indi uses sign language! It technically is just 'you should party' but you get the idea... Kiks is learning sign for Dusk so luckily she can understand her multiversal 1/3rd sibling:>

I wanted to include Flare in the background bc royalty and he and spectre are friends bc prism and cinders are flares multversal half (2/3rds) siblings and I said so:)
Then lilac is just so gorgeous and I hope I did her any justice
Bleu was a lot of fun bc he's just a little guy and you know he ditched his shoes as soon as he could and Silas/Rush is always fun so Bleu wanted to hang out with the coolest guy there 😎
Skylar is chatting with Aurum in the back, they're too cool to dance around but they're having a nice time- knowing skylar he might be flirting lmao hopefully aurum doesn't cook chicken tonight lmao
The sunrise is a little wallflower they are there and they are gonna leave soon but they still came which is what's important!
And Amethyst I stuck just outta frame but scarz made such a pretty dress for amethyst I wanted to put a bit of it in there
Then V and Sapphire get a little extra attention alongside Mina to join the dance party! Sapphire's dress was designed by Lena I hope I did it any justice because absolutely incredible omggg
Also! I worked so hard on that chandelier I drew it three times and only remembered the symmetry tool on the final one rip also if I'd been SMART I could have drawn it one time and then just... copy pasted.... but alas. Oh well!!
The backgrounds were mostly fun but also infuriating I am not a background guy smh but! I still had so much fun with the peice as a whole and really appreciate all the love and care Indi has put into writing a story including all these characters :) ♡

Kiks, Penny, Mari, and Ah- all are characters of my partner @tails-perhour, who I love so so much and want to have the best birthday ever. The two of us became friends in middle school and they always inspired me with their art. I can draw anything at all because I learned from watching them!!
Even Trumpet (my little Parasaru OC) was inspired by them! I asked if anyone had any dinosaur sonic OCs and said someone should make one- they told me to be that person lol
So I became that person! And I have my very own sonic OC! To celebrate I wanted to draw her and Kiks together!! I haven't drawn something so detailed in a long time...or anything digital...or finished...or with highlights!!!!!

Anarchy trying to come to terms to why Law hates her home and if that means he’d hate her too, law wants to leave and go home, but he never once considered leaving anarchy behind. He hadn’t realized she’d taken his dislike of the island so personally
This was why I was drawing everyone!! I wanted to draw everyone together but I thought everyone would appreciate having their individual characters so I posted them as I went!! I will probably not do this again it's so much lol but I definitely don't regret it
Drawing all of the characters was certainly a challenge! A lot of really creative and amazing people were in this showdown! My favorite part was seeing everyone's excited reactions to their characters!!!! It really made my day every time!!!! Eeeeeeee!!
I'm going to be mushy now;
I debated for a while joining the showdown, I struggle, really badly, with interacting with people, I'm autistic, socially awkward, and have no confidence, and due to past experiences, I haven't been able to make friends or talk to people normally in years. I decided to take the chance with the help of my partner encouraging me, and I was fully ready to lose round one- but you all kept kiks in the running! And even in round two- it was incredibly close! Less than 10% difference! I couldn't believe it!
I had like 4 followers when I started and one of them was my partner! So that's insane! I now have over 30 which is also insane!! I'm so so thankful and I really appreciate all the love I've gotten! I'm so happy about my new mutuals! I've got some really cool new friends!! And I just can't express all the positive things!
So from the bottom of my heart- thank you!
I had so much fun!!! And the next showdown- I'm gonna come back!! I hope you'll support me again! And in the mean time- let's keep being friends!

<3 when Kiks was born she was majorly red but as she got older and her quils came in she got darker and darker, her fur matching closer to shadow's more and more! Her parents aren't sure why she's got such big ears, they thought she'd grow into them!
Now here's something special for you all! Kiks is, in real time, fifteen years old. (I know!) Here is her origins back in 2010, among my first ever sonic drawings! When I came across them again a couple years back I decided to give Kiks new life!! Please cringe with me here's the original drawing....
But for Kiks? I'd do anything 🫡 Kiks belongs to @tails-perhour, who's currently in the @sonic-fankid-showdown. I am so so proud of them for putting themselves out there, I know it's hard for them <3

This cutie is Buddy's partner! In my 'sometimes heroes' au she and buddy are featured and she's a huge inspiration to Penny! Penny has posters of Whimsy on her wall and shit but!
In Whimsy's storyline she isn't a model anymore, joining up with the resistance alongside her childhood friend Buddy! She uses a mace as her main weapon and she's overwhelmingly positive!
Most people have no idea why she hangs around Buddy when he's so grumpy and she's so whimsical but the two are inseparable!

She was my partner's player character in Forces! She and Buddy are childhood friends!
When Buddy lost Funky he met Whimsy and she helped him get better and after he was back on his feet the two continued to stick together. She's his family and he's hers.
Whimsy loves dressing cute and even makes her own dresses! She helps keep Buddy's jacket put together and helped him crop it to make it wearable again.
Sometimes during a debriefing your boyfriends heart rate reaches dangerous levels and you have to go make sure he's not gonna die but it's probably just another panic attack
Whimsy has a watch that's connected to Buddy's so she can monitor his vitals and they con communicate quickly!
