يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ “O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one,” (82:6)
الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ “Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical?” (82:7)
فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ “Into whatever form He pleased He constituted you.” (82:8)
A Reminder by a friend of mine. Whenever we achieve something in life, whether we cooked a meal or built a house. Studying for many years to achieve a degree or even raising a child, did we do all that? Is it because of our hard work or is it because of Allah swt? We will get praised by our love ones and the people around us “you’re very intelligent” “you have beautiful eyes” “you work really hard” What did we actually do to deserve these compliments?
The truth is everything came from Allah swt. We should constantly thank him for everything because it is he who created us. Everything that happens in our lives is because of him, if you work hard, Allah swt is responsible for that. If you are intelligent, handsome or good looking. Allah swt is the one who gifted you with that. We’ve done nothing to deserve this. Allah swt gave us these gifts and we cannot accept praise for the gifts because that praise is for Allah and Allah only.
“Who created you, then made you complete, then made you symmetrical?” (82:7)
And if we ever forget or choose to ignore where our gifts came from, then you will realise Allah swt can take these gifts away in a matter of seconds.
May Allah give us the ability to show gratitude for our gifts in life that we take for granted.
