Today we were surrounded by pink..a morning spent in the environs of the old city and it's bazaars..

Mehanghar Fort

March 7th, a magical day in Udaipur. It started with an intensive tour of the city palace complex, where the ruler still lives.

The craftsmanship in these Palaces and courtyards is stunning.

2 and a bit hours later we wearily made our way to the dock for a boat trip on the lake eventually ending up at Jagmandir island where we had lunch.

Time for a tuk tuk ride to try and fo some shopping unsuccessfully.

After the heat a quick dip in the pool was refreshing before an evening that was equally delightful.

We were driven to the opposite end of Udaipur which took a lot longer than I thought to a stunning Haveli overlooking bot the Lake Palace Hotel as well as ours for a long, leisurely dinner.

We don't think this day will be beaten on the whole trip!
