I was going to wait until after the event ended to do so, but I’ve changed my mind.

This blog, as well as Araceli and Coralin, is officially on hiatus. This fandom has repeatedly made me feel uncomfortable for months now and after witnessing what I have on the dash, I can’t take it anymore. 

I don’t know how long I’ll be gone, but I may pop onto Araceli occasionally. 

In the meantime, I will be on my Persona 5 protagonist @fooltrickortreat. I will only interact with the Fire Emblem community, however, if they are close friends of mine.

   Your voice feels oddly soft, as though you’re hearing yourself speak from far away. You hadn’t even realized your retainer had been in the area; You’re not surprised, though. Oh, no. On a good day ( which this clearly isn’t ) you can generally tell when there’s a set of eyes on you, protecting you from the shadows. Not that you know where they’re coming from; That would defeat the purpose of Kaze being a ninja, but you find his presence comforting.

   So comforting, it takes you a long moment to gently untangle yourself from the man’s arms and have the good grace to look embarrassed. “…Don’t tell my siblings about this. Please. It’s… There’s nothing wrong, I’ve just… Had trouble sleeping lately.”

   You’ve got so much on your mind and so little energy to work with, you barely notice the stairs fast approaching: A pressing need to memorize your script before next rehearsal. Planning out rides from either Mom or Ryoma-niisan for your selection of plays to review for the paper and seeing if anyone would want to carpool. Getting the timing of that one moment in the D’Artagnan vs Athos choreography just right; Your parry is a few seconds too late and it just breaks the flow of the sequence entirely! You’ll accept no less than your absolute best for this! Then there’s other schoolwork and acting assignments, helping your younger brother and sister with their homework, helping Mom around the house… Finally, there’s that terrifying feeling you’ve been watched as of late, keeping you from getting what few hours of rest are available… 

   Your eyes close for just a moment. The next thing you know your bag has crashed down several sets of stairs, and your hand is being held tightly by someone to keep you from going with it. Your eyes open, you turn to look… 

“A… Akechi-san? What the–” Another glance down at your bag, and it only now just clicks that you’ve been so utterly exhausted you nearly passed out on the stairs. “…Oh, God. Thank you… That, um... It could have been a really nasty fall…” 

   Ohhhh, this is embarrassing. And it’s going to earn you the ire of every girl in a fifty mile radius for the next God knows how long; There’s no way people didn’t just see that… Excellent.

the worst part about this is that in a normal universe where araceli isn’t put through hundreds of years’ worth of failed timelines all centered around decisions she’s made, she’d actually have a decent competitive streak-- see her persona 5 verse, where she’s literally an actress in her school’s drama program.

   You chuckle, wrapping your arms around the Summoner and holding her close. You want to change the subject, get off the idea of you being given any sort of spotlight ( You hate it, you hate being the subject of anyone’s attention for too long, you hate people watching your every move, comparing you to others– ) but you don’t want to dismiss the other woman’s words entirely. They send a warmth fluttering through your chest, and despite your discontent you find yourself smiling.

“… I’m just not cut from a very competitive cloth, I suppose. I would feel guilty for winning, because it would mean there would be another person who didn’t get to advance!But… Thank you. That’s very sweet of you, Ingrid.”

“It’s hard to imagine big sister losing, but didn’t her opponent win last time? Rumours or no, he’ll definitely give her a challenge. ... It’ll be a shame to see him lose his title so soon.”
