I have no idea what the plot of Spider-Man Brand New Day is, but can the 'Watchtower' 🤮 be destroyed as collateral damage? The MCU loves destroying cities. C'mon do it do it do it!
I'll even give you my comet idea for free. 🤣😂🤣
C'mon Peter. I know you're all lowkey, street level again but surely you can call in the last of those drones thingies. It's a public service!
Listen, nobody who's ever opened a history book says we didn't do that shit first. Pick an atrocity and chances are there was a time europeans did it on mass to someone for the sake of profit. The difference, is that we have for the most part put that behind us, while the US is just sinking deeper and deeper into it. We're not perfect, and we were a lot worse in the past. But it has been a while since we were the problem
i admit i am getting wary whenever people vaguepost about a fandom being 'full of drama' because a lot of people seem to use 'drama' as a synonym for like. discussions of bigotry and bias in media. which is so very much not the same thing and it hurts my head to see it conflated with shipping wars and headcanon discourse.
Every time someone says "I don't pay attention to fandom drama" and the "drama" is a Black or brown person getting dogpiled for wanted to be treated with respect. But then turn around and go "I didn't know that this sort of thing was happening!" Well you didn't care to look, either 😬
Remember when Lil Nas X beautifully explored his sexuality, seduced and killed the devil to the banger of all time, and instead of cheering on this openly gay and proud Black artist for his artistry and fighting back against respectability politics, suddenly said respectability politics was all the Queerest Place on the Internet cared about? Hm. Wonder what happened there.
Anyway I miss him and hope he's doing better with his mental health 🙏🏾
A canon interracial couple exists "I just don't see their chemistry" proceeds to fanon ship [insert white character] instead, claiming they have more of a connection.
"It's not their skin color, I just don't like them for some reason, btw, here are my top 5 [insert white actors] I think are better suited"
"Not everything is about race". They say, as they prop up every white character over any character of color.
"Please stop bring race drama into the fandom". Which translates to, I'm comfortable in my racism and don't appreciate any criticism, thanks!
White person, "Yeah, I wrote character of color as an animal, doesn't make me racist".
"I love character of color, here's a fic where they act like as [insert white characters] servant/therapist".
Character of color is such a bad friend for having opinions of their own/taking care of themselves instead of putting their friend [insert white character] first.
A character of color is morally ambiguous or a villain, gets redemption arc. "They're awful and haven't been condemned enough of their crimes". Stans [insert white characters] who did the exact same crimes or was a villain who's redemption arc is praised.
"Can't believe that character of color had the nerve not to die as a selfless sacrifice for [insert white character]".
"POC actress/actor is too ethnic and they'd ruin the character".
"I haven't seen racism in the fandom therefore it isn't there".
"Character of color is the main character of the show sure, but let's be honest, everyone came for [insert white character]
"Character of color is alright but I can only relate to [insert white character]".
Feel free to add more, that you've come across. Sadly, it all runs together after awhile of being in a lot of fandoms. Special shout out to all who helped me with these comments!
Sometimes you just gotta bring some receipts. Like the fact that the MCU Wiki lists Sam the Avengers leader and Joaquin as a current notable member. Steve and various other known characters are listed as notable former members (because we still have no official confirmation of the Avengers team as rebuilt by Sam). Please note who is NOT listed there. Former HQs are Avengers Tower and Avengers Compound. Former affiliations are Shield (which doesn't exist anymore) and the United Nations for Tony's faction when they signed the Accords. Notice that the Avengers were never and still are not considered aligned with the government. They are considered *Active* because of Sam and Joaquin - as well as any other
Now by contrast, the "New Avengers" (not new Avengers) share no membership overlap with the Avengers, their headquarters are named differently, and oh would you look at that, affiliated with the government.
The New Avengers do NOT reside in Avengers Tower. The building was purchased by Val and EXTENSIVELY remodelled to the point where it's not considered the same building with a different name anymore, but has a different entry. Funny, that. The Avengers Tower is affiliated with the Avengers. The Watchtower is affiliated with the New Avengers and oops, Val's private company. So I'm afraid saying the New Avengers are operating out of Avengers Tower doesn't seem to hold up. What a shame. It's almost as if they're not Avengers. See also...
Speaking of not Avengers...
To the left, I present Sam Wilson. To the right, I present Bucky Barnes. Who has no current or former affiliation with the Avengers. Because he was never one.
Like we've been saying. The Thunderflops are all Non-Avengers who just stole the branding. There is not a single Avenger on their team. They do not live in the Avengers Tower. They are entangled with Valentina, a villain, who also supports Wilson Fisk. They are government dogs. Officially. Not Sam and Co.
Just started Project Hail Mary w Ryan Gosling in it, I've been meaning to watch this for a bit so I'll reply after the movies over and say how I felt about it!
idk what crack is sprinkled on these funny faced white men that is transcending movie and tv screens but john fucking walker is a villain okay
john walker is a Bad Guy
we watched him murder someone with the captain america shield in broad daylight
he’s even on the mcu’s bastardized version of the suicide squad with the thunderflops, which is being spearheaded by a literal villain
he is NOT a sympathetic character just because he’s sad about being a shitty husband and father and the fact that his friend is dead like what the fuck
and he’s not Sam Wilson so why the FUCK are you in his tag running the #justiceforjohn tirade?
summary: Sam planned on telling Steve about his other super skills, he just hadn't found the time to do it properly yet. So, of course, circumstance brought it out for him.
People celebrating a “SamBucky reunion,” like anything in the descriptions of the trailer or this Doomsday rollout as a whole could be considered a win for Sam Wilson or his fans. Jfc I wish this fandom would at least pretend to care about the character outside of his connection to Bucky.
Smh… I really am outdone by the blatant disregard for Sam, both from TPTB at Disney/Marvel and his so-called fans.
