What Is Thunder?
On the authority of Ibn ‘Abbās رضي الله عنهما who said: “Jews came to the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ and said: ‘Tell us what thunder is?’, he ﷺ replied:
‘It is an angel from Allāh’s angels that is set over the clouds and in whose hands is a Mikhraaq (1) by which he drives clouds away, directing them where Allāh commands him’.
They (the Jews) said: 'And what is the sound (of thunder) that we hear?’, he ﷺ said: 'It is the sound of his (angel) voice’, they said: 'You have spoken rightly’.”
Note: (1) Ibn al-Atheer رحمه الله said: “It (Mikhrāq) is a tool by which angels drive away and direct clouds.”
To Allaah, you are valuable.
There was a man of the desert whose name was Zaahir.
Whenever he would visit the Prophet ﷺ, he’d bring gifts from the desert, and the Prophet ﷺ would provide for him when he intended to depart.
The Prophet ﷺ said: Zaahir is our man of the desert, and we are his townspeople.
He was beloved to the Prophet ﷺ, but he was very ugly due to a physical deformity.
The Prophet ﷺ came to him one day while he was selling his merchandise, and caught him from behind while Zaahir could not see him.
So Zaahir said: Who is it? Tell me!
Then he turned around and recognized the Prophet ﷺ so he hugged the Prophet as soon as he recognized him.
So the Prophet ﷺ said (jokingly to those around them): Who will purchase this slave?
So Zaahir said: O Messenger of Allaah, by Allaah you will find me unsellable (worthless).
Then the Prophet said: But to Allaah, you are not unsellable.
Or he said: To Allaah, you are valuable.

✒ The Sanctity of a Muslim is greater…
The Prophet Muḥammad Ṣallallāhu-ʿAlaihi Wa Sallam, whilst doing Ṭawāf said to the Kaʿbah:
“How great are you and how great is your sanctity, by The One in Whose Hand is soul of Muḥammad, the sanctity of a believer is greater with Allāh than your sanctity, (sanctity of) his wealth and his blood.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
When a person leaves the disgrace of sin to move to the honour of obedience, Allah will:
* Make him independent without wealth.
* Assist him without an army.
* Grant him honour without a nation or tribe.

The Heavens and the Earth Weep When the Believer Dies
————————————
Ibn Jarir recorded that Sa`id bin Jubayr said, “A man came to Ibn `Abbās, may Allah be pleased with him, and said to him: “O Abu Al-`Abbās, Allāh says,
"And the heavens and the earth wept not for them, nor were they given respite."
(Qur’ān 44:29)
— do the heavens and the earth weep for anybody?”
He, may Allāh be pleased with him, said,
“Yes, there is no one who does not have a gate in the heavens through which his provision comes down and his good deeds ascend. When the believer dies, that gate is closed; it misses him and weeps for him, and the place of prayer on earth where he used to pray and remember Allāh also weeps for him.”
But the people of Fir`awn left no trace of righteousness on the earth and they had no good deeds that ascended to Allāh, so the heavens and the earth did not weep for them

WHAT SHOULD YOU BEGIN WITH IN SEEKING KNOWLEDGE?
Imaam an-Nawawee رحمه الله said:
“So the first thing which he should begin with is the memorisation of the mighty Qur’an, which is the most important of the branches of knowledge. And the Salaf did not used to teach hadeeth or fiqh, except to one who had memorised the Qur’an. So when he has memorised it, then let him beware of pre-occupying himself from it with hadeeth, or fiqh, or other things, to the extent that it leads him to forget anything from the Qur’an, or makes that likely.”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Be content with what Allāh has given you and you will be the richest among the people.”

🖋 Etiquette Of Standing At Door
ʿAbdullāh b. Busr RaḍiAllāhu-ʿAnhu said:
“When Prophet would come to someone’s door seeking permission to enter; he wouldn’t stand facing it, rather he would stand to the right or left of it,
If he was given permission he would enter or else he would walk away.”
The scholars mention that the wisdom behind not facing the door directly is that when it opens up; the gaze of the person seeking permission should not fall upon anything inside the house which is not permissible for him to look at!!
And Allāh knows best.
Bilāl ibn Sa’d رحمه الله said:
Indeed, you have a Lord who is not quick to punish any of you. He pardons mistakes, accepts repentance, turns towards those who come to Him, and shows mercy to those who turn away.
When a person spends his entire day with no other concern but Allah (‘azza wajall) alone,
Allah (subḥānahu wa ta’āla) will take care of all his needs
and take care of all of that is worrying him.
He will empty his heart so that it will be filled only with love for Him,
free his tongue so that it will speak only in remembrance of Him,
and cause all his faculties to work only in obedience to Him.
[Ibn al-Qayyim (Rahimahullaah), al-Fawaaid, pg 159]
Allaah Gives From His Virtue
Shaykh ul-Islaam Ibn Taymeeyah [رحمه الله] said:
«من اجتهد واستعان بالله تعالى ، و لازم الاستغفار والاجتهاد فلا بد أن يؤتيه الله من فضله ما لم يخطر ببال.»
❝Whoever exerts himself and seeks aid from Allaah [تعالى] and adheres to seeking forgiveness and sacrificing, then most definitely Allaah will give him from His virtue that which had never crossed his mind.❞
[Majmoo Al-Fatawa, (5/62)]
MARRIAGE IS A MEANS AGAINST SINS
They (spouse) are a garment for you and you are a garment for them. (2:187)
Commentary: Allah used the following words to describe marriage as the same as wearing ones clothes to protect one from the cold and heat; similarly marriage is a means of safeguarding oneself from sins.
Also marriage provides peace and tranquillity to the heart and there is a physical bond between the husband and wife the same way ones clothes are closely attached to a person.
[Tafseer al-Qurtubi 2/209]
Ibn Uthaymeen رحمه الله said:
“If a person were to guide you to the road leading to a city you intended to reach, you would consider that a favor they have done for you. So how about the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, who guided you to the path leading to Paradise? It is his right upon you that you send blessings upon him. Peace and blessings be upon him.”
(Fatawa Noor "ala al-Darb, 210/12)
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:
"If you knew the true value of yourself, you would never allow yourself to be humiliated by committing sins.
When Iblīs refused to bow to your father 'Adam, he refused to bow to you, so why have you become his friend and left us?
If there was any love in your heart, it's effect would appear on your body."
A man came to Hasan Al-Basri رحمه الله and said:
O Abu Sa'eed! Let me debate with you about the Religion!
Al-Hasan replied:
“As for me, I know my religion, if you have lost your religion, then go and look for it!”
