Considering what can happen to an infant during this kind of agonizing torture, i.e., shock, choking, respiratory arrest, cardiac arrest, hemorrhaging, he may not remember because he MAY NOT LIVE to remember.
Hey @comradeuncut16  I just found your blog!  I decided to make a new blog just for intactivism and this is my first post here.   I’ve been very interested in this since I found out in middle school that many guys had a piece of their penis removed.  It was a strange concept for me and I didn't really study it in depth until high school  Now I’m studying psychology in college, and one of my goals for the future is to do deep research into how circumcision is affecting development, cognition, and the emotional lives of those who have gone through it. Â
Even though he probably won’t remember it if he’s young enough, it will be a significant event in his psychological development.  Even if we ignore the initial pain of the operation, there will be near constant pain for 2 to 4 weeks during the recovery process which will have it’s own set of effects.  However, not much research has been done to assess this.  So far, I have found 3 studies that suggest that there may be negative psychological consequences to circumcision.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9057731 This study links circumcision to an increase in crying in infints in response to the pain of an injection. Â Â They don't make any connections with cognition or psychology, but this shows a difference in elicited behavior between circumcised and uncircumcised infants. Â
http://www.academia.edu/6395216/Alexithymia_and_Circumcision_Trauma_A_Preliminary_Investigation This study links circumcision to a personality disorder called Alexithymia. Â Â They don't make any guesses as to the cause of the effect they see and suggest further research into the matter. Â
http://foreskins-ok-usa.tumblr.com/post/15730839888/understanding-the-relationship-between The first paragraph on this page is an abstract from an article that found a link from circumcision to things such as impulsivity and aggression in children.   They used a fairly small sample size to conduct their study but that doesn't  invalidate it.  More research should be done here as well. Â
I don't know if any of this research has been replicated yet but I want to get the word out about it. Â
