It's Not Easy Being Green

I'm Bruce Banner, doctor and physicist specialising in gamma radiation and nuclear physics - also occasional Avenger, though the credit tends to go to my... uh... other side. I've been encouraged to start a blog, because apparently I don't do well with people. I'm working on it, just... slowly. M!A: None. Currently accepting.

So. I told everyone I'd be back in May.

It is now September.

Nothing unfortunate has happened, no disaster has befallen me or this blog, but the fact is that I don't really wish to roleplay as Bruce any more. I tried, and I felt terrible for not keeping up with everyone, but truthfully, I don't have the time to devote to this blog, and since January my interest has faded. I loved the two years I roleplayed as Bruce, but he's reached the end of his tenure, and I'm ready to move on.

So, this RP blog is closed, and I'm turning it into an archive. I don't want to lose all the fantastic posts I made with some truly brilliant roleplayers, and I'm truly grateful to you all. Maybe someday my interest will wake up again (perhaps with Age of Ultron, who knows?) and I'll want to wake my muse again, but that'll be on a new blog, making a fresh start.

Until that time though, I hope you're all healthy, happy and having as much fun as you possibly can. Hopefully, I'll see you around!

I’m well aware of how rarely I’m online at the moment, but I should probably make this official:

I’m going on hiatus until the 30th of May, approximately. Finals are looming, essays are beating me down, and quite frankly, I’m exhausted. I visit here once a week if I’m lucky, and that time is usually one of guiltily racing to catch up with threads that my brain isn’t equipped to handle anyway. It’s a real shame, since I should be looking forward to coming back here, but right now that’s just not happening.

So I’m signing off for a bit, once and for all. Soon I’ll never have to look at a textbook again, and after that I’ll try and focus on waking this blog up — but until that time, I’m out.

As is so often true of comics, a lot of the awesome is in the details. Natasha can’t move the Hammer when she first reaches it. What makes her worthy at the end when she apparently wasn’t worthy just seconds before? Look at panels 2-3 again. Natasha’s got that big ogre right on top of her with his club already going back to strike … and instead of shooting it to save herself, she uses her last shot to bring down the flying reptile that’s chasing that fleeing shuttle. That act of self-sacrifice in the face of certain death is what made her worthy.
