at some point i realized i would never come first. i would give up my teeth my eyes my soul for you. it took me a long time to realize that wasn’t healthy and by then i was empty. with you it was always something else you were happier doing. at first i thought it was just passion but then you started forgetting me in any grain of sand. i had to beg you to come back. it’s amazing how long you can convince yourself to wait for someone before you realize they aren’t coming. before you realize that you aren’t worth it to them. that it isn’t that they love being chased. it’s that they don’t want the arms you’re offering.
