hi i wrote this about a pretty girl who i’m kind of in love with and i thought i’d share:

there’s something in the way she holds herself

that says “i am here and i am not afraid.”

lying sprawled in the grass,

the late summer sun painting dots

across her cheeks

and dusting them with rosy warmth,

she tells me what she sees in the clouds

and about how the submarines in atlantis,

the forgotten world under the sea,

are fueled by songs.

“thats where i want to be” she says.

she reads me poetry,

blushing when she stumbles over words

but her voice sounds like music

so i won’t complain.

when she laughs

you can see all the stars in her eyes

and you can breathe just a little bit easier.

i find it so endearing when people just happen to know about little things like birds or flowers just so they can maybe give you their scraps of information on the off chance you might ask. it’s almost like magic, simple magic, yknow? like those people were kissed on the forehead by the fae when they were young and now it’s their own mission to plant a little bit of fae sparkle in everyone else’s minds.

i disappeared into the fog for a while and it was a good time, met hozier, exchanged some excellent vibes with the gremlins, but i decided to come back because no matter how exciting the woods are at night, and how wild the fae parties get, its impossible to shake the homesickness for your cozy bed and the longing for the warmth of hugs from those you love the most, and all in all, what’s even the point without that? so i’m back for a while, but maybe next time i disappear i can take you with me and then i won’t get so lonely
