Could having low cortisol mean that you're intersex? I'm the anon that had elevated estrogen
I know low cortisol is a sign of NCAH, but I’m not sure how that fits in with elevated estrogen levels.
As always, @intersex-education, do you have any input for this anon?
Low cortisol is characteristic of CAH (specifically 21-hydroxylase deficiency, which is the form people almost always mean when they say CAH) or NCAH, so it can be a sign.
However, elevated estrogen and low cortisol together are more likely to mean some other adrenal disorder. Estrogen dominance is when estrogen is higher than progesterone, and low progesterone also leads to low cortisol. This is associated with adrenal fatigue, so you should do research on disorders of the adrenal glands, though I’d bet it’s not CAH and more likely something else. The best thing is to ask your doctor to do more tests after you’ve narrowed it down to what’s the most likely cause.
getting really fucking tired of dyadics telling me to stop including intersex in lgbtq+
Intergender is for intersex people only
It is not “a gender between male and female” unless the intersex intergender person describes it as such
Intergender can not be separated from intersex experiences. Intergender describes our experiences with dysphoria and how it intersects with intersexism and transphobia/cissexism. Non-intersex people can’t use it. Use androgyne or non-binary something similar. Stop stealing intersex specific words.
P.S. on that same train if I catch any of you (non-intersex) nasties calling yourselves h*rmaphrodites I hope an intersex person smacks the shit out of you
[okay to reblog if you’re not intersex]
