@xy-intersex
hey guys! sorry ive been suuuper inactive, my life has been super busy with me getting into law school and stuff. I should get back to a regular schedule pretty soon.
So, my friend johnny @hydrangeapng and i tried to redo the intersex flag.
This is mostly for personal use but you’re welcome to use it if you like. I just really dislike the two flags mostly seen on tumblr. Please credit if you do use it though and tag me in any edits if you wanna!!
Oh! And before this blows up… i’m intersex myself just so you know
hi! this is a discord server for intersex folks, run by one mod. we accept people with all intersex conditions, including ncah and pcos and those that are self diagnosed. this is an all ages server.

@intersex-education
An interesting infographic about intersex conditions (unfortunately not all of them) from “Scientific American” magazine article.
How have I not seen this before? I ought to look at this in more depth when I have the time.
Salmacian
Salmacian (or bigenital) refers to people who are dyadic (non-intersex) who wish to medically transition to a state where their bodies possess a mix of sexual characteristics, or, in other words, bodies that diverge from the standard definitions of male and female.
People who want to transition to bodies without sexual characteristics are usually called agenital (or angenital) instead, although a broad definition of salmacian might include them.
It is very important to note that salmacianism is not related to fetishization of intersex people. It is simply one way that gender dysphoria can be experienced. Salmacians are generally aware that they do not become intersex on transitioning and that it’s not permission to speak over intersex people.
The term itself was coined on the basis of Salmacis (a character from the Hermaphroditos myth as recounted in Ovid’s Metamorphoses) by Raphael Carter, who defined it in The Angel’s Dictionary as follows:
Suggested by the author as a term for male-to-intersex and female-to-intersex transsexuals.
As I said, it is impossible to transition to intersex because the term “intersex” refers to natural biological development (despite the common misunderstanding that the only important part of its definition is having “both” sexual characteristics). However, it is entirely possible to wish for a body that diverges from commonly understood sex norms.
A hospital official says that the first birth as a result of a womb transplant in the United States has occurred in Texas, a milestone for the U.
It does not concern me, as I do not feel like a woman, and not interested in a possibility to carry any babies, BUT it is a great news for the whole mrkh community, and many other cases, i suppose. And more then that, it is another one great step of the science against the nature!Â
PS: hope our, Russian creepy new politics with an alliance with creepy religion won’t ban such surgeries.
Hi I thought I would never make a post like this but its an emergency. I have less than $200 in my bank account so I can’t afford estrogen. I have a condition called Swyer Syndrome and I need HRT to treat it, without estrogen I cannot go through puberty and my osteoporosis will worsen. please donate some money here! even 3 dollars helps.
Can Intersex people have children?
Some can and some can’t, it depends on the specific variation we have. Most intersex conditions result in infertility, but as long as a functioning uterus is present they have the chance of getting pregnant and having children, even if they need an egg donor or a caesarean section.
there's also the option for artificial reproductive technologies for people with Klinefelter syndrome

I keep seeing bigender pride flags and intersex pride flags that look the same? sometimes it's listed as intergender instead? what's that about?
and I know about the yellow and purple intersex pride flag, but I’ve seen many intersex people not want to use that one and that it’s specifically the “h*rmaphrodite” pride flag. but then the “second” intersex pride flag looks the same as the bigender pride flag?
Um, I’ve actually never seen this - followers got any input?
Mod Bethany
I thought I had a post describing this in more detail, but it seems I don’t.
Essentially there was a flag created in 2009 by Natalie Phox that looks like this:
At the time, she titled it a “bigender flag”, though she later clarified she was referring to intersex people as well as people we would nowadays call salmacian (which was coined in ~1996 but it was not really in circulation until recently). Despite this, it continued to be used for the bigender flag until another one was created.
In 2013, OII created this flag:
The original post on their site said that yellow and purple were chosen because they were “not derivative” of pink and blue (female and male) and rather suggested that intersex people are our own and not just variations on male and female. Unfortunately, the post did describe them as “[h-slur] colors”, but it should be pointed out that it was only used in a reclamatory way. OII has always been more aligned with queer movements, and this obviously includes reclamation of slurs. That said, this is in no way the “[h-slur] flag”, nor is it strictly associated with OII; in fact, it happens to be the most common intersex flag.
Even though it was unintentional, there seems to be an ideological element at play in the decision of which flag you prefer. The OII flag seems more popular with people with more radical views on intersex identity (keep in mind that’s only radical compared to the common opinion which is pretty much stuck in the 1870s), including the framing of intersex variations as individual spots along a spectrum as opposed to easily-categorized biological mess-ups. Not saying the opposite is true of those who prefer Natalie’s flag, however.
I still see people misusing Natalie’s flag as the bigender flag, but that is incorrect and the actual bigender flag is this:
Happy intersex awareness day! I didn’t have anything planned since it kind of snuck up on me, but if you have any posts I should reblog here, tag me in them and maybe I will.
Shoutout to intersex guys! You’re all lovely and handsome and completely valid!
GENITALS DO NOT DEFINE GENDER ♡ !!!Â
The extension of the fetishization and humiliation of intersex bodies and folks is amazing. From ridiculing people with micropenis to treating women with hyperandrogenism as freakshows and the theory that men with XYY chromosomes are more violent. I wish for the day we aren't the butt jokes or being violated in one way or another.
Have you ever talked to a doctor about your hormones? The way you were treated probably depends on if you're cisgender or not. This comic reveals the biases too many medical professionals have.
do you feel impacted by trans bathroom laws as afab (assuming youre afab since you have swyer syndrome ) IS person?
Yes ive been kicked out of the women's washroom in a place with trans washroom laws before. im actually kind of scared of going in the women’s washroom one so i prefer to use a gender neutral washroom if possible.
